  1. You're not supposed to post while drinking? Then I would never post. Damnit!
  2. Ha! Nice shot at Ball. But also a good comment for the ether and any CB ears in the future.
  3. I'm good with it. EDIT: But I'm not really sure how claiming off the waiver wire works. How does the contract aspect of it work?
  4. If the #2 WR gets filled via draft or Jennings, then the depth chart you show here is a solid WR group for this coming year. Not a major strength but certainly not a weakness. However, if the depth chart must be shuffled to include no new WRs (no draft and no Jennings) then the depth chart takes on a dramatically different luck. Unless of course one of the "Question Marks / Special Teams" guys you point out does in fact surprise in camp. To be sure, I like the group (even as is) and am excited to see them shake out their positioning in camp. I would really like the group if we have a solid #2. Add Jennings AND a #2 from the draft? It's a strength. Time will tell but, as per usual, I'm optomistic.
  5. Like Captain Kirk? That's how I read it.
  6. That sucks. Oh well. We will be fine. Looked like a nice signing though.
  7. I somewhat understand an Big Ben comparison and certainly the favre comparison. But what about Elway v Cam comparison?
  8. The only real difference between this and the OP is Hill at 5 or Brown at 5. I'm good with this line up with whomever wins that 5 spot. I'd rather Hill just because of size and speed. If he wins then good. If Brown wins that 5th spot well then good. Either way I think it's a solid line up. Not getting Jennings though would change things. As no one thinks Cothery can be a legit #2. So the whole dynamic changes. It could force the rookie to be the #2 or maybe Ginn. I'm not sure. And one last wrench in the monkey would be if we don't draft a WR at all. After the Huddle meltsdown, I'm not sure what the lineup would look like.
  9. If they catch passes. But personally I don't know enough. Just what others have said.
  10. I'm not completely sold on FB even being a position in the pros. I like Tolbert but eh. Wouldn't kill me if he got beat out.
  11. Personally I agree with you. But is he the greatest Panther? Smitty that is. I don't think so. But I would say he's borderline HoF. Maybe just shy. But statues are about being emblematic of the organization. TD is much more that than anything. So I agree, he's the likely candidate for the next statue.
  12. That brings up the ever problematic question of who's the greatest Panther or statue worthy. Twitter just had this discussion and it came down to Kasay and Smitty. Is anyone statue worthy? I think TD makes a good case. My favorite Panther of all time was Dan Morgan. 25 tackles in the Superb Owl?! What a beast. He just had no off switch and got concussions in practice. But Morgan isn't statue worthy. Kasay, Smitty, TD? Tough to say.
  13. I'd argue Luke is that guy but him being so damned young and seemingly quiet, he's not the leader CJ is. But I'd say Luke is more valuable. Semantics I know.
  14. So what's it called when the baseball players (or anyone for that matter) put whipped cream in a tin foil pie dish? There's no crust and yet at that point it even becomes a verb and you "pie" someone. If you take all the pumpkin out of pumpkin pie, you no longer have pumpkin pie. Or chocolate pudding, etc. You have just the crust...not a pie. So I might argue the opposite. That without the filling you have no pie but you can have pie without the crust...as long as you have one of those tin foil pie thingy's. I also can't believe I spent any amount of time on that response.
  15. Michael Crabtree Willing To Wait For Right Opportunity, 49ers Still Interested Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports that free agent WR Michael Crabtree is willing to wait as long it takes to find the right situation for him. According to Maiocco, the 49ers remain interested in re-signing Crabtree, but he reportedly prefers to play for a team that places a greater emphasis on the passing game. Maiocco mentions that if Crabtree were to return to San Francisco next year, he likely wouldn’t be an every-down receiver now that they’ve brought in Torrey Smith. As of now, Crabtree has taken just one visit to Miami to meet with the Dolphins. Beyond that, there has been very little buzz surround the former first-round pick. Crabtree, 27, appeared in all 16 games and caught 68 passes for 698 yards receiving and four touchdowns last year. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 95 receiver out of 110 qualifying players. We have Crabtree listed as the No. 34 player in our Top 1oo Free Agents list. http://nfltraderumors.co/michael-crabtree-willing-to-wait-for-right-opportunity-49ers-still-interested/
  16. You can't FAX glitter! Not with THAT attitude. EDIT: Frisky Dingo
  17. Crazy thought. Adrian Peterson doesn't want to play for Minnesota. Period. If he's willing to just sit out instead of play for them, Minnesota might consider a low rd draft pick to get something for him. Anyone willing to give up a pick or two to get him? Cap restructuring would have to happen but it's a theoretical anyways.
  18. I'm ok with that. The point is that other owners weren't willing (or in some cases able) to do what he did with the NYY. He could've sat back and run the team like the Red Sox had been run for 80 years. But his desire to win pushed him further. And that competition in an owner is a desirable trait in my book. It's just that sometimes they start making calls about stuff they don't know. But Jerry Richardson, however, was a pro player so I'd say his opinion would be a little more weighted that Jerry Jones'. But I still like the owners that are inested. I like Mark Cuban a lot too. Don't really care about the Mavs but I'd love to have someone like him as an owner of my team.
  19. While I wouldn't want Jerry Jones specifically as my owner, as a New York Yankees fan (I'm from NY) I've always loved Steinbrenner. People complained about buying championships and I applauded. He cared THAT much about winning that he would pay exhorbinant amounts of money (and then make even more money) to win. He, like Jerry Jones, got a bit too involved in running the actual team. I think Billy Martin was fired and rehired like 5 times in one season. Craziness. But having an owner that is THAT invested in the team, emotionally, and has a ridiculously strong desire to win is VERY enviable. There seem to be plenty of owners of major sports teams that really do only care about making money and not if their team wins. The Marlins are an obvious example. But it's a thin line of enthusiastic owner and owner who fugs withs team and screws it up constantly. So I'd say no to Jerry Jones but I wouldn't hate him. Part of him reminds me of Steinbrenner. And for the record I like Jerry Richardson's story of being a player and getting rich off of a business and creating the team. Seems like a nice guy I guess. That's not really important to me. But I do agree with some that have said this whole thing is kinda phony. Maybe not completely but the hard, moral stand wasn't made until after the Rice video dropped. So who knows how it all really played out behind closed doors but there are elements that ring a little phony and geared toward PR and the vision JR has of himself or what he wants others to think. In my never to be humble opinion.
  20. That would be bad for any potential comp pick we would get. In fact, I think it would nullify it all together.
  21. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals have agreed to terms with former Jaguars WR Nathan Slaughter. Rapoport mentions that Slaughter is the first player to participate in the veteran’s combine to be signed by an NFL team. Slaughter, 22, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M back May of last year. He lasted just a few days with the Texans before he was waived and later caught on with the Jaguars. During his Senior season at West Texas A&M, Slaughter caught 41 passes for 415 yards receiving and three touchdowns to go along with 625 kick return yards and three touchdowns.
