Didn't think he'd make it past the waiver wire. The Ravens are in full overreact mode after the mudsmear of last season. DO NOT jaywalk if you are a Raven right now. Especially a marginal one. I think Joe could weather a parking ticket or two.

I think the rationale is that Bene is more naturally suited to play the slot. Yes he worked out good on the outside but that his most natural position (and therefore where he will perform best) is the slot. Now I'm not that guy that can tell you about moving hips and back pedaling etc. But that's what I've gathered from what I've read. Hope that helps. -

I'd say let competition in camp sort it all out. If Harper wins then so be it. If not, ok good. We've upgraded from a known quantity, which as you said played better towards the end. So win-win either way. -

I agree. I'm usually pretty optimistic in March though. Now we just need to get this Ball signing done and official. -

That might be Kurt Coleman. Who knows? -
Didn't see it anywhere else: Falcons Sign TE Jacob Tamme Tamme, 30, is a former fourth round pick of the Colts back in 2008. He spent the first four years of his career in Indianapolis before he signed a three-year contract with the Broncos back in March of 2012. In 2014, Tamme appeared in 15 games for the Broncos and caught 14 passes for 109 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 27 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.

Free agent corner Alan Ball is scheduled to visit the Panthers on Thursday afternoon, according to a league source. There were media reports Thursday that Ball had already signed with Carolina, but there is not an agreement yet, according to two league sources. If things go well, Ball could be a Panther by the end of Thursday. And can't fix the formatting. Sorry. EDIT EDIT: There IS more at the link. -

Nice. This could prove to be a really solid signing. Let him compete for the #2 CB (hell maybe #1) spot on the outside. Bene fills the slot. Tre, Harper and Coleman battle for the 2 safety positions. We could have a pretty decent defensive backfield. With the front four signed and settled (minus any rookies we get) and the starting LBs obvious...the defense looks presentable. I like it. If nothing else, I would say that free agency (to include resignings of current players) has filled all of the holes (on defense) and allows for a much more objective approach to the draft. NEED seems to have been addressed. I'm pretty sure I've heard that's what FA is for somewhere. I just can't remember where. -
I think Taylor Mays would be a good pick up and he's still out there. We have room for him in the cap.

He seems decent. Not sure what rd is a good value but I never like the Patriots lurking and looking at him too.
