  1. http://www.klewtv.com/sports/NFL-Free-Agent-Collins-Cleared-as-Suspect---302785881.html The story doesn't go into WHO said he was cleared specifically or any details but this may just be breaking. "In a developing story that has become more clear as the days roll on former LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins has been cleared as a suspect in the shooting death of his former girlfriend Brittney Mills." So it's either irresponsible reporting or they broke the being "cleared" part but aren't giving specifics. If it ends up being nonsense please delete but I figured it warranted a new thread.
  2. It goes on and on. I won't paste any more of it but it kind of paints a story of these two idiots and how they ended up doing all of this. I didn't read all of it but Brady knew they were inflating/deflating the balls but that was also their job. It's not as nefarious as one might think in parts and other parts seem kinda damning. I can see where the NFL isn't full on biblically accusing.
  3. About some Brady info: During halftime of the Jets game, Jastremski exchanged text messages with an unidentified recipient concerning Brady‟s complaints about the game balls. 4. From page 75: McNally L A. abels Himself the Deflator On May 9, 2014, during the NFL offseason, McNally and Jastremski exchanged the following text messages: Bird46 (603) 321-xxxx John Jastremski (508) 958-xxxx You working John Jastremski (508) 958-xxxx Bird (603) 321-xxxx Yup Bird (603) 321-xxxx John Jastremski (508) 958-xxxx Nice dude....jimmy needs some kicks....lets make a deal.....come on help the deflator There is no record of a response from Jastremski to McNally‟s message at 16:39:40. Approximately eight minutes later, McNally sent the following message: Bird (603) 321-xxxx John Jastremski (508) 958-xxxx Chill buddy im just fugin with you ....im not going to espn........yet These text messages were among those we were unable to discuss with McNally due to the refusal of counsel for the Patriots to arrange a follow-up interview of McNally.47 sub note 47 says: 47 Our investigation did not discover these messages until after our initial interview with McNally. In response to our request for a follow-up interview, rather than producing McNally, counsel for the Patriots tried to negotiate terms, requested that interview topics be provided in advance and offered to “consider” the use of written interrogatories, all of which we declined as inappropriate and inconsistent with our reliance on traditional investigative methods. We reiterated our offer to conduct our follow-up interview of McNally at any time or location convenient to McNally, but counsel for the Patriots refused.
  5. This report just took over sports media until Friday...minus some discussion of NBA playoffs.
  6. from the earlier story I linked... Patriots owner Robert Kraft issued the following statement: “When I addressed the media at the Super Bowl on January 26 – over 14 weeks ago – I stated that I unconditionally believed that the New England Patriots had done nothing inappropriate in this process or in violation of the NFL rules and that I was disappointed in the way the league handled the initial investigation. That sentiment has not changed. “I was convinced that Ted Wells’ investigation would find the same factual evidence supported by both scientific formula and independent research as we did and would ultimately exonerate the Patriots. Based on the explanations I have heard and the studies that have been done, I don’t know how the science of atmospheric conditions can be refuted or how conclusions to the contrary can be drawn without some definitive evidence.” Kraft concluded: “While I respect the independent process of the investigation, the time, effort and resources expended to reach this conclusion are incomprehensible to me. Knowing that there is no real recourse available, fighting the league and extending this debate would prove to be futile. We understand and greatly respect the responsibility of being one of 32 in this league and, on that basis, we will accept the findings of the report and take the appropriate actions based on those findings as well as any discipline levied by the league.”
  7. The full report is 243 pages long if you want to read it yourself: The full report is available here.

  9. google search with threatening texts reveal zero hits. Google doesn't believe "Omar comin'!" (pie to the first person to recognize the reference)
  10. Hadn't heard ANY details about their relationship. While it would seem to be pretty scary on the surface, anyone going through a break up says emotional things. Unless he threatened to hire someone to kill her or something along those lines I wouldn't be immediately worried about it. But it does tap the breaks a bit....damn. Please be innocent...for a number of reasons.
  11. Article attempts to point out why Collins would be great in Miami....aaaaaaaaaand completely fails to take into account that everything the Dolphins want him for is NOT what Collins wants for himself...nice. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/76136/how-lael-collins-would-fit-with-dolphins How La'el Collins would fit with Dolphins But how would Collins fit in Miami? Collins played left tackle in college, but he's projected to play guard or right tackle at the next level. In Miami, Collins is needed most at left guard. He would be a huge favorite to win the job as a first-round talent. Dallas Thomas is the incumbent starter and already on thin ice after a poor season. Miami also drafted fourth-round pick Jamil Douglas in the fourth round to compete and add depth. Billy Turner is the early favorite to start at right guard. The Dolphins also could use Collins as a backup offensive tackle. He's capable of playing both the left and right side, which is partially why his draft stock was high before recent legal questions. EDIT: my emphasis added. What Miami wants vs what Collins wants = a cat on his hat
  12. Good for him. I guess being an elite MLB doesn't get the same coverage as a franchise QB. Not surprised. I wonder how many actual graduates we have on the team? Not that any of that matters. Was listening to the Bene podcast at lunch and he is clearly a smart guy. Yes he has a degree from San Jose St but that degree doesn't make him smart. He is smart.
  13. http://bigeasybeliever.com/2015/05/06/will-saints-chance-landing-lael-collins/ Will The Saints Have A Chance At Landing La'el Collins? David Newton of ESPN also reported that the Carolina Panthers are using their LSU connection in offensive guard Trai Turner to help persuade Collins to sign with them. The Saints are already getting questions about their tackle situation since Terron Armstead and Zach Strief are the favorites for the left and right positions respectively. Add Peat to that mix and now it becomes a question of what would be a comfortable fit position wise for both the Saints and Collins. And speaking of comfort, the Dolphins and Panthers are playing the hometown card better than the Saints could with players that Collins is familiar with and would provide a support system for him.
  14. Luke went back this offseason to get his degree?

  16. We're doing that in the here and now.
  17. Can we go 4 levels deep? We may never come back and be stuck without a LT forever. It's risky but I'm in brother.
  18. If you're commando and like what he's doing...where is his head again?
  19. Maybe something with a tiger and a panther. Tigra and Panthro? Or maybe just tweet him an episode of Thundercats. I think I might be bad at this.
  20. Basically if you have Twitter you should send him some love. His handle is earlier in the thread. Keep it simple and show him we want him. Don't forget #KeepPounding
  21. Fixed. Never happened before. This is unprecedented. That's why it is a big deal. Also I think it will happen this week before rookie's report for whatever it is that they do before everyone else.
  22. Yeah I figured semantics fell into the narrative that way.
