  1. OK I'll be the one...why? I don't get it (reminder - I'm not from the south). Side note - that sauce looks pretty gross to me...but the picture looks like it's from the early 80s.
  2. Who voted no and why? Inquiring minds want to know. Seeing as how 6 of the top 7 from last year are no longer on the team and we saw improved play on the field at the end of last year, there is no logic that leads one to vote no.
  3. Born and raised in Syracuse, NY. Live in Baltimore now. Lived in Fayetteville, NC for almost 15 years.
  4. Before this post I had honestly never heard 90% of what you said. I learned something today even if Mr Scot doesn't think it's 100% Panthers. I have no idea but I learned this. My day is done.
  5. Ha! I was just making the play on words about the park name. I have no idea if Frank will be good or if Winslow will be good. It does seem like Winslow is in a better situation for success but Frank could be good. Frank's game seems pretty polished and he's improved every year in college but it could be he's near his ceiling...I have no idea.
  6. I don't know, Frank might end up being an All Time great! Kaminsky Park has a nice ring to it.
  7. They have to pick Winslow don't they?
  8. It's funny. To me he sounded really genuine. I didn't hear much coach speak. It sounded honest.
  9. The Panthers hired you to run with a bomb that is about to explode in a Batman suit in 1978? Recipe for success?
  10. Good lookin out for The Huddlers heading down to Camp. One of these years I will do this.
  11. Why is that relevant? Every country has had slavery at some point in their history...with the exception of any new country but there aren't many of those. And yes America was late to the party in getting rid of it but they did. And it took a war to do it. I'm not saying that's all the war was about but it's the relevant point in this case. Then the symbol of that war was the flag (regardless of what that flag was actually used for) pictured above. It became a symbol of southern resistance in the ways that Texans think of themselves as independent. But, as Tiger pointed out, it was co-opted. And when the "silent majority" did nothing it became corrupted. It is now time to at least remove the symbol from the State Government buildings. Why is that such an affront?
  12. Honestly, I picked that up from living in the south (born and raised New Yorker...I know I know...Damn Yankee and all that).
  13. 43.4% seems like solid growth in the O line market. Pointy elbows or not I'd invest again.
  14. And fine young male means a bundle of sticks. While I can appreciate and not judge you for pointing out technical history it's irrelevant when the over riding majority view the word/symbol/whatever as meaning one thing. While I can understand using the symbol as reflection of southern pride and the ability to stand up for something...kind of like Texans view themselves...it is the wrong symbol. That's essentially the problem. I think a lot of southerners want a symbol that says "hey we won't be pushed around and will stand up for ourselves if pushed" but in the end the thing they are saying they stood up for was slavery...when oversimplified. And the notion of standing up for yourself and your belief is good...the flag just reminds people that oh yeah you stood up...but for something awful. Unfortunately, I don't think there is another symbol of standing up in the south and that's sad. It's very American to be anti-establishment...but that symbol is the wrong symbol.
  15. Regardless of what the flag means to you...it is undeniably a symbol of hatred to a vast majority. A state government should not have that symbol flying at it's capitol. Put it in a museum as a marker of history. After things like this we always say we need to have the race conversation and we never do. We talk about specifics but we don't get uncomfortable. Segregation by the government ended years ago but we have kept it going privately. Get out there, meet different people and experience their life. You might just find that a smile is a smile and we aren't all that different. Taking down the flag by itself isn't the end of the conversation. The conversation needs to continue each and every day in order to strip our preconceived notions about how everyone else lives.
  16. I love how the PU thread got everyone going down a turn they didn't want to take and now you're bringing us back. I'm starting to think PU is alt identity. Well played sir. Well played.
  17. A Teenage Wasteland? Because that could have promise...I'm just sayin.
  18. This post is a tribute to the BOLDEST STATEMENT IN THE WORLD. I can't remember what the boldest statement in the world was. This is just a tribute to that statement. Funny thing is this post isn't anything like that statement.
  19. Ha! "He's got those tight muscles." Too funny.
  20. $10K per family for funeral costs and $10K to the church. They don't have to pay taxes on that money either BC it's under the gift tax limit. Great move by the Big Cat.
  21. If what you say were true, this would be a very hard part of the roster to figure out. With Igo saying Todman has looked good, the question of Stewart, Fozzy, Todman and CAP makes for a difficult choice. If one were placed on the PS they would surely get snatched by someone.
  22. Three biggest highlights for me as others have said. Really love that bit about Norman helping the WR. I think Darryl Williams may start a preseason game or two at RT which could solidify a starting spot. Byrd should get a ton of show time in preseason since we know at least 2 guys will sit early and often in those preseason games.
