Shaq just announced he's changing from #7 back to #54. Mike Williams and Clowney both wore #7 in college. Could mean something, could mean nothing.

Is Drafting a WR in the 2ND Really A Good Idea?
rodeo replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know the team has plenty of holes but I wouldn't even be mad if they double dip on WRs with the two 2nd round picks. -
Probably more like 85%. Not even 99.9% of Huddlers were happy to see Cam win MVP. Sunk cost fallacy will be a thing, some people have decided that Bryce will never be good, so even if he becomes good they'll have to convince themselves he's not to save face.

The Bears are still going to be 4th in their division so who gives a poo
-
He was one of the least open receivers in the league by a wide margin. Check out our new guy all the way on the other side of the chart.
-
Same. Something that made Wilson so great in Seattle is that he could lob up a wounded duck and his WRs would come back to the ball and fight for it and come down with it. If Bryce did that it's an automatic pick 6. He needs some dogs throwing elbows trying to help him out.

Good to hear.
-
Looks like he's a solid route runner. Not blazing speed and doesn't have a lot of separation even in his highlights but doesn't seem to need it. He fights for the ball which is something Carolina desperately lacks.

36 year old coming off an achilles tear and was never all that good in the first place. Doesn't scare me.

Reminds me of the headlines from this time last year. "DeAndre Hopkins will only sign for a Super Bowl contender."
-
People listed all the same reasons Deandre Hopkins wouldn't come here last year. We're irrelevant, we don't have a great QB, he'll only sign for a Super Bowl contender, etc. And then he signed to play for one of a small handful of teams equally irrelevant as the Panthers to be thrown to by Ryan Tannehill. Big name players don't always sign for the top teams.

Cautiously optimistic
-
I think after only 1 rookie season the chances are much greater than, for example, when David Carr left the Texans after 4 years of getting his ass ate and people thought we'd magically fix him.
-
That's definitely reason to be optimistic. Tbh the main thing separating Wilson on the Seahawks and Bryce Young was that Wilson could close his eyes and throw up a wobbler, and one of his WRs would actually break off his route and come back for the ball and come down with the catch. If BY did similar it would be ugly.

Us losing to the Bucs both kept the Saints out of the playoffs and got us our new head coach. Double win.

Busted. I have not been paying attention

tbf "No retreads" has been the Huddle mantra since Reich was fired. You can't avoid retreads but also get a guy with lots of experience.

In a way a Huddler became GM. Sure, the board ran him off with constant concussion jokes, but he was a Huddler for a few days at least.

Down like 30 points and the Cowboys are still trying to block extra points harder than the Panthers have in years.

This is a blast. I haven't had this much fun watching football since Cam was cut.

Who is falling for the Peacock Wildcard bullshitt
rodeo replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Tinderbox spent 15 years trying to radicalize the Huddle but the NFL going to streaming services eventually did it. Arise ye workers from your slumbers Arise ye prisoners of want For reason in revolt now thunders And at last ends the age of cant. -
Huh?
-
Watching all these short dump-offs and checkdowns by Stroud go for 60 yard gains is legitimately funny.
-
Reich called an offense built around Bryce, and then Bryce ended up having his best games when that was abandoned and they put him under center. Doing weird poo because they think it's what Bryce needs is a big reason the offense sucked as much as it did.
