  1. With Gettleman's and Rivera's focus on special teams, anybody that's not a starter or a heavy use backup is going to have to excel at multiple things including special teams. Jones can play that big nickel role and be a special teams demon. Either Fozzy or Todmann are change of pace backs and a return option. Ginn stretches the field and gives us a weapon at PR. Boykin falls into this same mold as a receiver with some upside and history, and as a four phase special teams player. He'll be on the roster.
  2. Without a shadow of a doubt, we go with Peat in this scenario.
  3. For those referencing our record with a healthy Tolbert, his return also coincided with Norwell, Turner, and Remmers all finally getting into the starting lineup together AND Benwikere and Boston getting the nod in the secondary. In this case I feel pretty strongly in saying that correlation does not equal causation. A player with Tolbert's body type isn't going to stand the test of time, especially not at the position that he plays. Reaves could conceivably be a short yardage back. And if you don't trust him for that, why is he on the roster?
  4. Precisely. If Yeldon or Davis from South Carolina is there in the 4th or later then we need to hop on them in a hurry. Karlos Williams from FSU could be a potential steal as well considering how well Skipper could develop him, and his history as a former five star safety recruit could lend him to be an immediate asset on special teams.
  5. Gurley, or any RB in the draft, makes a lot of sense for the Panthers. Stewart, while great, can't stay healthy and Fozzy is good change of pace back but he doesn't seem to be a guy that can be the primary. Gurley would represent tremendous value anywhere but the first round, but I'd expect the Panthers to be more likely to grab someone in rounds 4-7.
  6. He's played both WR and corner and it doesn't look like he's been particularly good at either. Maybe he's a good special teamer?
  7. Well, let's hope Matsko can make him back into what he was his first few years in the league then. And that we draft a tackle to develop.
  8. He's had 64 combined hits+sacks over the last three years which is good for 10th in the NFL among edge defenders according to PFF. I'd take him in a heartbeat.
  9. Do not want. He's Bell with a "better" pedigree.
  10. Would take Free in a heartbeat at either LT or RT. Fact of the matter is that we're simply not very good there. Remmers was some lightening in a bottle this year but you've got to wonder if it was just that or if there's something else to his performance. A veteran that we can at least plug in at LT and a high draft pick on an OT are a must this offseason. We've apparently shown a lot of interest in La'el Collins, who I think is the perfect fit to ease into the NFL at RT before transitioning him to LT.
