Rumor: Panthers, Titans, and Eagles Contact Michael Crabtree
PanthersUnited replied to rscott94's topic in Carolina Panthers
Stevie Johnson is still avaliable. Fug it, I don't care which one, I just want us to land a guy that people have atleast heard of and have made some kind of impact in this league -
I think I speak for most sane yet disappointed Panther fans, we aren't upset because Gman isn't out there making it rain for guys like Suh or Maclin, it's that he's just too conservative. What about trades? Last big trade we made was for Olsen and that has worked extremely well for us. Why not trade a 5th rounder for a player like Brandon Marshall? Gman does well in the first three rounds but does pretty bad after that.. Kugbilla and Tyler Gaffney anyone? So in other words, we essentially could have traded a player like Gaffney and Kugbilla for Brandon Marshall.. That's a no brainer in my book. We really just want to see an effort made.. Why not atleast get a feeler for a guy like Harvin and atleast interview him and draw your own conclusion?! Last time I checked, it doesn't count against the cap to bring in guys. Yes Oher and Ginn is a nice start but we still have holes to fill. I think we are just upset at a general lack of urgency. Ofcourse it would be stupid to sign a guy like Suh or Maclin to the deals they got.. But come on, a 5th rounder for Brandon Marshall?! Why don't we pull off common sense trades like that?

So complete honesty, say next year we lock uo Cam and have nearly 50 mill in cap space left, do you think we will make a true splash signing, by splash I mean something on the level of Julius Thomas, Torrey Smith level signing or will we still dumpster dive?
-
Dont forget his blazing 4.76 40 time!
-
Agree 100%. Surprisingly Stevie Johnson is still avaliable, I'm holding out a grain of sand sized hope he doesn't get signed and after a few days we give him a look but I'm not getting my hopes up, he's too much of a well known player for us to go after. I literally would rather just roll with Stephen Hill then look at these joke of a guys like Boykin. He's a WR in the NFL that runs a 4.74 for the love of fug, Gman baby, I love you, but c'mon man lol
-
FYI, suprisingly Stevie Johnson is still avaliable, he could be a target if he doesnt get signed in the coming days and gets desperate to sign with a team
-
I do.. 4 rec, 23 yds, 4.74 40 time. Not worth the roster spot, would rather keep Cotch
-
4.74 40?! Keek has a faster 40 time for Christ sakes! Practice squad body to replace Stephen Hilll when he makes the 53

Saints deal TE Jimmy Graham to Seahawks
PanthersUnited replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
I dont sweat for one second them having a extra 1st round pick. A. Its just the 31st pick and B. It is WELL worth it being rid of Graham, he killed us -

Saints getting a 1st rounder doesn't bother me, it is the 31st pick afterall -

Do want!! -
Right but based on sources posted here, we are already done with our moves
-
So if we are really done with FA then that worries me. I don't trust Oher to be our sure fire guy at LT and LTs more often than not struggle their rookie year, and we still have a gaping hole at no 2 WR. If we are done with FA then we will be hovering the 7-9/8-8 record yet again

I'd be fine with him as well -

Eddie Royal ran a 4.39, THATS who we need and in our price range -
If I was confident we would draft a WR I would feel better but I just have a feeling Gman is going to draft a DE or something like that in the draft

It's why I would prefer Harry Douglas, I always thought he was buried behind Jones and Roddy White and was always solid

Why won't we even go after guys like Eddie Royal and Harry Douglas? I understand not breaking the bank on one WR, the problem is in Gettleman's mind, anything more than a 1-2 year contract for virtually vet minimum is considered breaking the bank in his mind and your just not going to land a legit no 2 WR with that mentality. Torrey Smith yes would be pricey but isn't it worth paying a legit no 2 WR 7-8 mill a year who is only 26 years old and could be our no 2 for years to come? I'm starting to think Gman has commitment issues, has he even signed a single player to a legit long term contract?! I'm starting to think thats why Cam isn't signed long term yet, I truly believe Gman has a legit fear of long term commitment.

Double fuggin jeopardy. Jesus Christ it baffles me how they can't just dock Hardy money for games and be done with it.. The max punishment is 6 games, he sat out 13. What am I missing here people?!? So a person shopslifts, spends two years in jail awaiting trial, the max punishment is one year, so the judge sentences him to one year and uses the excuse "yea but the two years you spent in prison was because you were awaiting trial." WTF kinda bs is the NFL doing?

Dolphins Trying To Trade Mike Wallace
PanthersUnited replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Frankly I'm tired of the complainers on here. Every single FA that is brought up all the negative people on here shoot it down. Let's see.. Mike Wallace is a diva, Andre Johnson is twilight of his career, Michael Oher had a bad season, Reggie Bush only shows flashes, Torrey Smith is too inconsistent, AJ Hawk is washed up.. Seriously, that is all I have seen on here all day as it pertains to the the above players I mentioned. No such thing as the perfect FA. I remember a few seasons back no one wanted Vincent Jackson because "he only cares about money." Yea, imagine Vjax, Cam and KB now.. Unstoppable. If we got a guy like Andre Johnson or Mike Wallace this whole forum would have a orgasm, face it.
