There is still a lot of value in Free Agency.

Johnson played for local college. Him and Adoree are my favorites. -

When healthy Fisher is top notch. Just saying. -
it's looking solid. Reddick and Perryman make the linebacker group aggressive and versatile. Need a corner. Don't want to rely on the draft for that. I trust Fitterer to work his magic in the middle of the draft to find a gem corner but ain't trying to rush the rookie into the starting spot across from Jackson.

Clowney never developed too much pass rush but he still a athletic freak. He is very good against the run and gets pressure enough to scare opposing qb's.

Report: we missed out on CB Shaquill Griffin
mickeye76 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Was hoping to bring Griffin in but this could be better in long run. He would have been our big ticket acquisition. -
I don't know bout that. Lance or Fields could slip. Not far though. Someone could trade up if either makes it to 5.
-
Or draft. DT and Corner are obvious needs going into draft. Both positions are prime for a rookie to come in and make an impact.

You know who Mac Jones reminds me of? Gardner Minshew. The first read is usually his best. Give Minshew Bamas playmakers and oline and I bet ya he would have killed. That said much like Mac his lack of arm strength limits him. Minshew and Mac both have surprising scramble ability. Surprise is the asset because neither have elite athleticism. Mac is a little taller 6' 3" instead of 6' 1" and Gardner actually is a bit better built. Mac's 216 odd pounds with the infamous dad bod selfies compared to Minshew having a fairly solid stocky 225. Just saying Mac for all his hype could end up parlaying his business degree and Bama glory days into a better career than his NFL one.

Predictions for FA... then draft. By position

I really dig this draft and free agency. Brown would be a solid MLB. Griffin is my favorite free agent corner. I'm hoping Fitterer has some kinda inside track with him. I'd rather trade up with Miami than go all I'm on Watson. That rookie contract for a QB is a proven route to success. I think Leatherwood, Hill and Smith could plug the gaps on the oline and give us a young group to grow together. Trill looks like a Legion Of Boom 2.0 guy. Only pick I'd possibly switch is the double safeties. Cisco is one of my favorite players too. I'm hoping Chinn works into that safety spot. So maybe a wr or TE there at 220. I like the way your thinking though. Would be very happy with this result. -
JJ III is a prize free agent. Him and Chinn would be one of the best young safety pair in the NFL.

Too bad the Jets have all the ammo to trade for Watson. A top three pick so the Texans can get their new victim and Selah is exactly the kind of coach Watson wants to play for. Jets can revamp the offense in one season. Watson, Harris or Etienne and a healthy free agency budget. -

If this year is any indication the QB carousel is not stopping anytime soon. There will be other qbs available that no one saw coming "Aaron Rodgers?" I don't see Watson as the make or break trade situation many on here do. -
Panthers awarded two comp picks for the draft

Perfect picks for trenches depth. Oline and dline is deep this year. -
If Mac is the option we need to trade down and draft a oline. Honestly Jones is a solid prospect. People are hating on him, but he had a lights out season. I'd take Jones over Lance. It's all to do with scheme for and floor vs ceiling. Yeah, Lance has a higher ceiling but his floor is bust basement. Jones on the other hand seems serviceable and think Brady and Rhule could make him Teddy but with a little more youth and daring.

David Tepper's Drip Implementation

How bout a home and away helmet? Dark panther grey matte helmet for home. Old school grey metal flake for away. Use the blue as complimentary color. Black out home games. Color rush blue is ok. Home grey with white jersey. It's doable. -

Justin Fields: Closer Look/Why I think he could be the guy
mickeye76 replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope miami is intent on stockpiling draft picks. I can definitely see a scenario where Lawrence and Wilson go one and two. Trading up to 3 will be cheaper than any plausible Watson trade. No extra players like Chinn or Burns to deplete our roster. A first swap, a first and second next year and Teddy Bridgewater could seal the deal. I like Fields he has the physical tools and played against top competition. More battle tested than Wilson and Lance and more athletic than Mac and more refined than Mond.- 58 replies

I'm still a little salty Chinn didn't get DROY!
mickeye76 replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
We should trade him for a disgruntled QB. -
I think Marcus will be a lil cheaper but is also young and the ball hawking free safety to go with chinn ( who plays safety like a linebacker) JJIII is a prize of free agency. We get him I would be happy too.
-
I hope Marcus Williams is on our radar if the "cap wizards" of the Taints can't get him back.

Couple years ago would have jumped at the chance to sign Rudolph. Now not so much. Pairing him with Teddy Bridgewater would have made sense at the time. But with TB likely on his way out, I would rather pair our young QB of the future with his own TE running partner.
