  1. JJ III is a prize free agent. Him and Chinn would be one of the best young safety pair in the NFL.
  2. Too bad the Jets have all the ammo to trade for Watson. A top three pick so the Texans can get their new victim and Selah is exactly the kind of coach Watson wants to play for. Jets can revamp the offense in one season. Watson, Harris or Etienne and a healthy free agency budget.
  3. If this year is any indication the QB carousel is not stopping anytime soon. There will be other qbs available that no one saw coming "Aaron Rodgers?" I don't see Watson as the make or break trade situation many on here do.
  4. Perfect picks for trenches depth. Oline and dline is deep this year.
  5. If Mac is the option we need to trade down and draft a oline. Honestly Jones is a solid prospect. People are hating on him, but he had a lights out season. I'd take Jones over Lance. It's all to do with scheme for and floor vs ceiling. Yeah, Lance has a higher ceiling but his floor is bust basement. Jones on the other hand seems serviceable and think Brady and Rhule could make him Teddy but with a little more youth and daring.
  6. How bout a home and away helmet? Dark panther grey matte helmet for home. Old school grey metal flake for away. Use the blue as complimentary color. Black out home games. Color rush blue is ok. Home grey with white jersey. It's doable.
  7. I hope miami is intent on stockpiling draft picks. I can definitely see a scenario where Lawrence and Wilson go one and two. Trading up to 3 will be cheaper than any plausible Watson trade. No extra players like Chinn or Burns to deplete our roster. A first swap, a first and second next year and Teddy Bridgewater could seal the deal. I like Fields he has the physical tools and played against top competition. More battle tested than Wilson and Lance and more athletic than Mac and more refined than Mond.
  8. I think Marcus will be a lil cheaper but is also young and the ball hawking free safety to go with chinn ( who plays safety like a linebacker) JJIII is a prize of free agency. We get him I would be happy too.
  9. I hope Marcus Williams is on our radar if the "cap wizards" of the Taints can't get him back.
  10. Couple years ago would have jumped at the chance to sign Rudolph. Now not so much. Pairing him with Teddy Bridgewater would have made sense at the time. But with TB likely on his way out, I would rather pair our young QB of the future with his own TE running partner.
  11. This is awesome news. TD and Olsen are class act guys.
  12. I agree. Until it happens or doesn't I would support a moratorium on the whole thing. It's boring. It's insulting. The media is basically saying we are desperate for attention and relevance. It's also insinuating we can't build a winning franchise without overpaying for other franchises players.
  13. It's all speculations. It's all click bait. But I'm legitimately worried that Tepper is a knee jerk impatient twit like half of our fellow fans. Difference is they are ineffectual twats and Tepper actually signs the checks so he can make things happen (even if he shouldn't) I just feel they could wait two years into a rebuild before we start making drastic decisions. It's a slippery slope. Say we go big trade for the prize, off season hero's and everyone is talking bout how Carolina is ready for the spotlight. Then not surprisingly for me we fall short, say divisional playoff loss.. Then a couple years down the line after the shine of Watson and likely Rhule has faded we are looking for a new head coach and QB. It's kinda ironic that the road to mediocrity could be trying to take a shortcut to success.
  14. So the Watson talk is everywhere. This is a game changing, dramatic shuffling of the deck. The all in talk is deafening. I'm not on board. A website gave trade options if we are indeed "all in" and I got to say my piece on the cons of said options. In no particular order. Trade option A. Four 1st round picks. Robby, Teddy and Chinn. Cons - first, let's give up Chinn a DROY for us and arguably could have been for entire league. He is not easily replaceable. Teddy is obviously not the answer but he is a decent backup. Then there is Robby. He played like a number 1b. He stepped up his game this year. With this trade add two wr's, backup QB and depending on how ya see Chinn two safeties and two linebacker to our needs in the off season. Four 1st rounders is a deal breaker if none of the other pieces aren't. Trade B. Three 1st round picks. CMC, Donte Jackson, and Shaq Thompson. 2022 2nd round pick. Cons - DEAD money. We finally rid ourselves of record dead cap money next year. This trade puts us back in that predicament. We weaken our secondary losing Jackson. Yeah, he has had some injury stuff but he has made progress and flashed. Gonna need two corners. Fact is I want two corners in upcoming draft even if Jackson is not traded. Shaq is derided on here but it is hard to think it will a case of addition by subtraction. Linebackers and secondary are not position groups that have much depth to begin with. Lastly, Christian is our rock. Yeah, injuries caught up with him this year but that was our fault not his. Give him some rest and use a change of style/ pace back with him and keep him fresh. Without him we will need to resign Davis. If we can't resign Davis lol we gonna be trying to replace CMC's production. Good luck. The 2nd round next year is almost inconsequential. But it would likely have come in handy to replace the talent we are getting rid of. Trade C. Three 1st round picks. 2022 second round pick. Curtis Samuel ( tag and trade) Derrick Brown, and Donte Jackson. Cons - Again Donte has not been a world beater but corners are a slow development group. The slow development is part of the reason it's not too bright to cut bait yet. Speaking of giving up too early on a talent. Brown is everything you want in a DT. Legit Primetime guy in the middle of the defense. What we need to be worried about is giving him a running partner beside him not having to replace him AND add another player in the middle. As far as Curtis goes if we gonna tag him we should keep him. He became mr. clutch this season. Trading him and possibly losing DJ Moore in free agency in the future is using monopoly terms "do not pass GO, do not collect 200 dollars" self inflicted f*#kery. TLDR synopsis. Without the draft capital and young stars under rookie contracts to contribute to the rebuild its all gonna fall on the shoulders of the prize trade target to make it happen. There will be missing pieces of the puzzle. We can pretend we are the Rams and just trade for big names and try to free agency our way to the promise land or we can build through smart moves in free agency and development of talent through the draft. I vote the later. We brought rhule, Fitterer and Brady in to develop and build. To go for a shortcut now is impatient.
  15. I don't see the value. A cheap rookie left tackle compared to giving up a first round pick plus giving a big time extension to Brown. Brown wants to get paid. I would explore an option where we trade up with the dolphins and do a swerve and take Sewell before I would bet it all on a Brown trade. Also this is a solid oline class. We could take Slater or Darrisaw at 8. Or take a chance on Eichenberg, Leatherwood or Walker Little in the second.
  16. I'm on that train too. Britt and Jabril are my favorites. Jabril was a mega watt star at North Dakota State. Then he went to LSU and played with the big boys. Him or Britt would be a nice addition. As far as free agency Hassan Reddick could bring some pass rush and veteran presence.
  17. Ya don't take great backups in the top ten. I'm just not a fan that early. Yeah, top of the second or something sure. In my opinion all the qbs stock are grossly inflated. Trevor is legit. After that they all have question marks. They all are more like 2nd round guys when compared to lots of non-qb guys.
  18. If we use a top 10 pick on Jones and only give him a year to figure it out I would consider that a wasted pick.
  19. I'd be all right with this if we could also get half the Alabama oline with him. Yep. Leatherwood, Deonte Brown and Dickerson need to come along too. Without a elite level oline Mac gonna be a tackling dummy.
