Bengals having their poo together lol. Okaay. Mixon finally being somewhat healthy helps immensely. Also I'm kinda jealous of that dumpster line. Ours is worse. Jonah Williams, Jackson Carman, and Trey Hill are all young lineman that were drafted recently. Also added Riley Rieff in free agency. I'd trade that "dumpster oline" for the burning dumpster floating down a sewer oline we have.

Gambling on upside. Young reclamation project with no injury history. Let's look at the options prior to Sam. Stafford - Older veteran with elite arm. Injuries starting to catch up on him. Trade was a 3rd, two 1st and Goff. Plus Matt vetoed coming here. The rookies - fields and wilson landed in tough situations and thus far have underperformed. Lance and Lawrence have potential but neither seem too advanced in the mental game. Mac Jones has done the most. He beat out a veteran QB and had some moderate success so far. That said belichick runs a different kind of franchise. I highly doubt big Mac would have looked as good behind our suspect oline. Keeping Cam or TB. Pointless. Gambling on a Minshew or other backup. Maybe. Lastly the elephant in the room. WATSON. We could have made the big gamble and pushed all our chips in on a sexual predator. Lol. Sorry not sorry Sam was cheap and risk reward level was manageable.

T Marshall gonna be fine. Maybe Sam needs to look his way more. Speaking of Moore maybe Shi smith, Moore and Marshall need to be it the three wr's next week and give Robby a ride on the bench.

PFF: Panthers go from easiest schedule to date to now hardest
mickeye76 replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not giving up on us. I say we still finish 9-8. Three game winning streak coming up. Bills, Cards, and Buccs look head and shoulders above us but any given Sunday. Saints, Falcons and Giants don't scare me at all. -
Let's just go on record right now. Who you picking Shula or Brady
mickeye76 replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
Chud was fun to watch. He seemed to really know how to use Cam. Like a prior response said Shula had a Ferrari and drove it like a Pickup truck. -
A wide zone with some power aspects oline with athletic guys who can move in space is what I hope we can become. We actually were trying to do that before. Elflin, Erving, BC and Paradis all fit what we want to do problem is they are not the guys at this point of their career.

I agree. Sam is a frustrating dude. But do ya really think any rookie gonna be less so? Look at Baker, Josh Allen ( his first season) Justin Fields, Trevor, Zach ( who some wanted) and Mac Jones. If ya think they all gonna come in and be saviors ya mistaken. Give em a solid defense, protective bully big brother oline and some playmakers then they may make it. Without it they faltering.

Or Heinke. Phhhpt. Who we kidding Kyle Allen and Heinke are vanilla flavored crap. Y'all overreacting. I'm gonna ride with Sam. In his defense that last minute clutch stuff was something TB, Kyle and Heinke did not.

Titans oline can't pass protect for diddly. Tannihill is is sacked often, but they are bulldozers when Henrys number is called. It's intentional. We need to build a oline that can do what we want our offense to do. Trying to build any kind of oline would be a start. Example oline. LT- I like Abraham Lucas LG- My choice Wyatt Teller OC- Tyler Linderbaum RG- Christenson RT- Moton

Titans without Henry. Chiefs without Hill. Seahawks without Wilson or Carter. Cowboys without Dan. Teams don't do so hot without . Common knowledge. We tied our wagon to a star that sadly has had some bad luck recently with injuries. This is not uncommon.

is darnold worse than teddy was?
mickeye76 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Aww naw. No way somebody gonna screw up more than that. Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, Jamis Winston and a yet to be determined flavor of the week all have potential to completely implode. -
How extensively will the offense need to be rebuilt this off-season?
mickeye76 replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It actually won't be a one season fix. Sad but true. Here is phase 2. 1. Free agency and draft need to be offensive. Remember the all defense draft? 1a. Explore free agency for veteran guards right, left maybe both. 1b. Best center or LT in draft first round. Whichever we did not address earlier get 2nd. Whatever magic Fitterer can manage. WR, RB and TE. Tommy Tremble and T. Marshall Jr look like winners but we could add more talent. CMC needs a goal line and short yardage spell. 2. Trim the fat. Robby, Paradis, and countless others. -
Wow. Kudos to the op for not bring a dramatic little. The sky is not falling. The team is not quite ready for prime time but it is not the dumpster fire some make it out to be.
-
We going on a three game win streak. Then the Cards are likely to hang 50 on us. That's the game where y'all should moan and complain after. The season is not lost yet the team has had some growing pains thats all.

This has to be said: Cam Newton is vaccinated and available

Those picks will come in handy to build a oline and add the missing piece/pieces to the defense. I like Carter but MLB is a premium position. MLB, FS, OC, and LT are the missing pieces.

is darnold worse than teddy was?
mickeye76 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
As a reasonable fan I give Sam one bonehead play a game. It's gonna happen. Today our defense made Minnesota look like offensively juggernauts. They aren't. The plays to come back and send it into overtime is NOT something OL Teddy two gloves would have made. He would have checked down three times then force a pass into the end zone. -
I give coaches 3 years to build the roster they envision. Culture takes time. People were calling for Ron's head then a next year we put it all together and nearly ran the table.
-
Agreed. He was a guy I hoped for if he had came out last year. Fingers crossed oline will be a off season. focus. Maybe sign a Wyatt Teller away from Cleveland to play guard. Draft Linderbaum, NC St unspellable and one of the Zion's.
-
Chubba and Royce hopefully can help till then. I agree though it would be nice to have some thunder to go with his lightning. Our red zone running could use some help.
-
Our oline is a rag tag group of veteran misfits ( excluding moton who is ) but they are doing the job. Do I wanna see a younger more talented LT and a center yep. But Daley, Christenson, Brown are young pieces that will develop with us. Rome was not built in a day. We got mad free agency next year and Scott "finesse" Fitterer wheeling and dealing in the draft. It's being built, progress is not often a instant gratification thing. It's slow.

Zod Almighty's 2021 Carolina Panthers Season Prediction
mickeye76 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm predicting 10-7. Darnold is more of a gunslinger than ol teddy checkdown. That mentality will help to will us to some wins in close games. Having CMC back alone is good for a couple wins. Our defense is gelling nicely and will hurt feelings. The Saints could be swept. The Falcons and Buccs are possible splits. That's 4 wins right there. Our oline will hinder us but DJ, Robby, and Sam will hit it off and produce more TD's than last year. 10-7 get a wild card and yes surprise a team in that first round. -
With the weapons we got Sam gonna be fine. 4211 yards 31 tds 9 ints 69 completion percentage 11-6 win record 1132 yds rec and 9 tds for DJ 979 yards rec and 10 tds for Robby CMC gets 1096 yards rec and 6 tds

Talk to me how you are feeling about the Hornets now.

It's gonna be a fun team to watch. Draft day was exciting too. Thor, Jones and Bouknight have potential. Plumlee is a better version of Zeller. Hornets are buzz worthy. -
What Was The Panthers Worst Move This Off Season/
mickeye76 replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think it was a bad off season move but the second round trade down gave me pause. I love the Tommy Tremble and Terrace Marshall picks and they can make this trade work. But I did like Liam as a tackle. If the left tackle gambles in free agency don't pan out it could cause a whole avalanche of issues.
