Whole lot of Deshaun Watson chatter happening out there
mickeye76 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
What did Watson ever do in Houston? Pad stats and lose. -
Are the Broncos following the Rams formula?
mickeye76 replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was thinking CMC could end up in Denver, then this trade happened. The war chest will be empty after the Wilson trade. No picks left for CMC. Also they have two really good running backs already. -
Zion could go 1st round. He is a top guard and has scheme and position versatility. Green is up there too but Green is less versatile. That said a situation that could be interesting to us would be a big trade down. Trade our 6 for the Lions 32,34 and 66. This trade is further down than I would like but if the target is a guard, linebacker, safety or QB this could work out. The Lions take either Kayvon or Aiden at 2 and then either Sauce or top WR at 6. Yes, we are dropping down alot but this could be right where a Zion, Green, Kinnard or Lucas land. Other targets at positions of need in this area would be Daxton Hill or a top defensive lineman who fell between the cracks after the top 8 to 10 go earlier. That 66 pick is also valuable with linebackers, interior offensive lineman and the second tier of wide receivers likely available there. In what would likely be the most unsexy draft ever. 32. Zion to play LG. 34. Kinnard to play RG. 66. Chad Muma to play MLB.

Stop being reasonable and stuff. This is the beginning of the end. We are all doomed. Rhule is the worst etc etc. Lol. People act like the Weinke and Clausen never happened. We been bad before.

Zion is a target. Down to trade way further down than people expect and take Green or Zion. Linderbaum is also a guy we should be eying. Trade down between 11 to 17 Linderbaum is the guy. Trade down to 18 to 27 Green or Zion. If we go past that I can be onboard for a QB.

Except for having a rapist as the HOF QB. Oh and how tomlin will interfere with the play on the field by encroaching onto the field. Or how Juju does tic toc b.s. dancing on opposing teams logos or how they succeeded in bringing us all the complete circus that is the antonio browns and leveon bells of the NFL. Whatever man. Just jump ship and be a Steelers fan.

Nice hire. Flores did not deserve to lose that gig. I will say the Luvu resign and some of the coach hires for the panthers( you know the team we pull for) are solid moves too. Go be a Steelers fan. Half of North Carolina already been on that bandwagon.

If this was madden. Yeah. But this is reality. Moore with a competent QB would be awesome. He's been pretty consistent with teddy "2gloves", Sam "silver platter" and Cam.

I'm with ya. I think he is a top 5 player in this draft. I really like Brisker too though.

Do you think Pickett, Howell, Willis etc are better than Joe Burrow?

Point is I like next year's class alot more. -

mickeye76 replied to mickeye76's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
That's kinda my point. I don't see any QB this year that can compete with Patrick, Joe, Lamar, Josh, or even the runts of the litter like Mac or Kyler. -
Burrow and Chase lit it up. The combo has continued their winning ways but came up short in SB. I don't see a scenario where Pickett and Moore can recreate that kind of explosiveness. Burrow got calmed down a bit by a dline stacked with talent. His offensive line was depleted by injuries when it mattered most. We have all seen this before. Cam in his prime with a questionable oline = no ring. Mahommes minus his usual tackle = no ring. Burrow without two lineman = 7 sacks and NO ring. So what ya think gonna happen if we patch together another oline from free agency and put a lesser talent behind it. With any overdrafting of the current batch of QB we lucky to hit 500.

I disagree. Lawrence is the future golden boy of the NFL. Christened that early, but I am not convinced. Pederson is a really good coach but he has his warts or he would still be in Philly. As far as oline Cam and Norwell are likely out the door. Their interior is bout where we at, and the right tackle spot we have the edge. So... I get it lets crap on Rhule all day every day but I hope Campen can fix this oline in a hurry. If we overpay for a LT Armstead like we did with Matt Kalil or pass on OL in the first round we fudged it. Otherwise within two years yes we will likely have a better oline, QB and coach than JAX.

let's see your top 6 selections for Carolina's 1.6 pick
mickeye76 replied to BlitzMonster's topic in Carolina Panthers
OK Ikem. This guy is gonna be a consummate pro. At LT or LG he gonna elevate those around him. Cross. Years from now he is a David Bahkrati forgive the spelling type player. Pass pro expert. Neal. Is a monster. A offensive lineman produced in a lab. Not a perfect creation though could be better suited on right side despite all his natural talents. Hamilton. Chinn and Hamilton is game changing. It's a left field choice but if those two mesh and are healthy opposing offenses got big problems. Linderbaum. Center is super under rated. Solid foundation piece. Give BC a year at LT, Moton is the rock, and have a full on competition with hungry rookies with improved coaching and oline is a strength. I guess we need to talk QB. Begrudgingly cause a Stingley, Gardner, Jermaine Johnson, Ojabo, or Dean are all uber talented players that could develop into pro bowl contributors. But give me Corral. Not sold on Pickett. I trust the SEC guy over the one year wonder in the ACC. -

James Daniels is the guy I would pursue. Cappa will not be leaving TB. Jensen is a ginger goof. Fisher, Armstead and Scherrf are expensive like a Faberge´ egg and as fragile. Laken and Orlando are gonna be out of out price range. The trick is to draft and develop our own offensive lineman. All of the players on this list started out as rookies. Some had high draft status, but some were found in mid rounds or even undrafted ( Norwell) We actually can start by developing BC. Pick up a high quality free agent LG like James Daniels to pair beside him and in the draft look for other olineman to develop. This is a strong class. No more retread lineman or QB's.

Zion is the target if able to trade down. Take a BPA at say 14 then Zion at 40 something.
-
What's he gonna learn from Cam? Sorry but Cam also had issues with progression reads.
-
Choice of runts of the litter. Next year is gonna be a game changing crop. Being inpatient and rushing the process will hurt us.
-
Have y'all did ANY research on the upcoming crop of QBs? Legit they like five guys that are seen as 1st rounders (not weak class inflated stock) and this is a strong class of oline. We have a legit chance of taking Neal for instance. If Houston and Detroit decide to go pass rusher (very talented top heavy class) then both the NY teams take Ikem and Cross for instance. Sitting at six and taking Neal, Cross or Ikem is the a nice problem to have. Only way we could f this up is reaching for a QB.

Glass and Garbers just played in a collegiate all star showcase game. Hence the boost in rating and attention. It's very early. My QB board is different. Also there are two distinct styles of QB this year. So it depends on offense we want to run. Semi-traditional pocket passer Pickett, Strong and Ridder. In this group Strong is the swing for the fences gamble with the most upside. Ridder is high floor low ceiling. Pickett is this year's most likely to pushed to the moon by Mel Kiper potential bust. I said it. New school RPO athlete at QB Willis, Glass, Corral and Howell. Willis and Glass are athletes playing QB. Both could hit a wall in the NFL because of an uptick in competition. Corral and Howell have potential and are actually two of my favorites this year. 1. Corral 2. Pickett 3. Strong 4. Howell 5. Willis 6. Zappe 7. Ridder
-
Or not.

We need a solid backup if we go QB early NEXT year. Zappe also could surprise folks. I see more of a Romo or Brees in him. But I can see the Chase Daniels. I don't see Mac Jones though.
