  1. I don't think there are many examples, if any, where a starting QB took two years off. Would be an extremely small sample size. But you would have to expect there to be a major adjustment to get your conditioning back up, especially since he hasn't done a 17 game season as well.
  2. I thought the first rule of parody threads was to not talk about how we don't talk about parody threads.
  3. Will the team get close enough this year to notice?
  4. I don't disagree, but it's still better than the last few years of MNF.
  5. They left for Monday Night Football, which should be a BIG improvement over how it's been over the last so many years.
  6. Rivera's first two seasons were losing seasons as well, and he started off 1-3 in his third season before Riverboat Ron was born. The team definitely showed much more promise under Rivera, but by this logic, you could also say "Rivera has had 2 losing seasons (to start his NFL coaching career) so it's safe to put him in the sucks category" as well. Not trying to defend Rhule here. I like the changes made regarding staff and players this season, and I'm hoping to see a big step in year 3 like we did for Rivera. Rhule did show promise in season 1, but without the ability to finish games for whatever reason in year 1. But year 2 was just -- Oof... hopeless. We'll see how this year goes, but you can't put somebody in the "he sucks" category after 2 seasons. Bellichick must be one of the worst ever. His first 3 seasons were losing records. Hell, 5 of his first 6 seasons as head coach were losing records.
  7. Clever wording. I didn't catch the 'up to' part . Just like my favorite sales that are 'up to' 70% off, but the stuff worth buying is 15% off.
  8. Crazy how realistic / possible that is in 2022 after being such a ridiculous claim that was not that long ago. (Would be $104,000 / year).
  9. If we do, probably in the 2nd half of the season, once Corral might get the starting nod. Possibly vs the Steelers (Pickett vs Corral, potentially). If so, hopefully it goes better than our last primetime game vs the Steelers.
  10. Some of the biggest spammers at forums sign up to drop links to betting sites. Seeing somebody sign up, make one very generic post (post above my previous) on a post that's half a year old, specifically on a thread about betting. I think it's a safe bet (pun intended).
  11. This thread is such spam bait. Lol. More coming soon, methinks.
  12. Steve Smith covered something pretty close to this this recently, when talking about Hall of Fame inductions / Sam Mills.
  13. Didn't mean for my post to be taken that way. I'm clearly in the wait and see approach / let him earn it, and I'm not expecting him to be a ROY contender or to perform like an expected first round draft pick. When I said "Seems like there are a legitimate amount of actually credible people out there that thought he was worth a first rounder," I'm essentially referencing Ian Rappaport reporting on the Steelers, Chris Simms' comments in the past, and based on what we know of the Panthers thinking (again, based on reports). There are many teams that chose to pass on him, whether it's because of other needs or they deemed the gamble on taking a QB this draft wasn't worth it (drafting a QB is always a gamble, but this class clearly wasn't deep). But the fact that The Panthers, the Steelers, and Chris Simms (his track record is strong), and Baldy's clips feels a lot more reassuring than taking a guy like Davis Mills or Will Grier in the 3rd. People/teams that actually know what their talking about, and not just lifelong media guys. It's nothing more than that.
  14. A neat little tidbit was dropped by Rappaport on the Pat McAfee show today. And that's that if Pickett had gone before the Steelers pick in the first round, Matt Corral was on the short group of guys there would take there. Seems like there are a legitimate amount of actually credible people out there that thought he was worth a first rounder Link, happens near the very end:
  15. Let him earn it. The kid is competitive as hell, so let them compete. And if he's ready, hopefully he's given the opportunity.
  16. Mays will be our Tom Brady - OL Edition at #199 overall. And dominate at guard until he's in his mid-40's+. Anybody else want some Kool-Aid? It's extra refreshing this morning.
  17. Essentially, what Robbie Anderson does, just do the opposite.
  18. It would have to be Glass on the practice squad in this case. Rhule would never give up former Temple QB, Mr. Unbeatable's spot (P.J. Walker)
  19. I agree with everything you said. Shutting out all the speculation for a minute, it's the most logical of any of the scenarios I think, and the best low-risk, potentially high-reward scenario out there. I think it's just a matter of time until this happens. What's the deal with the girl beating stuff, though? This is the second time I saw that referenced somewhere, but I can't really find any info on it.
  20. Very well could be true. Or the staff can be stubborn about it and let him ride the pine as #3 for the season and it won't cost them anymore than cutting him. After the season, he walks, and they may get a comp pick out of it. That or trade him if there's an injury to a starter somewhere. There are a million directions this can go.
  21. I see it the other way around. A deal before the draft, Carolina has the leverage. We can't strike a deal, then we have the option to draft a QB. If the draft comes & goes, where we don't take a QB, then Cleveland can up the asking price because we have no other options. I love how unpredictable this is. I have no idea what's going to happen. It's refreshing.
