  1. I think he can get there. But to lead them there.... I can see him leading them there in the same way guys like Shaun King, Blake Bortles, and Case Keenum have in the past.
  2. We don't know what happens behind closed doors. He'll be ready by training camp, so the team very well could have worked with him on the timing of it. Surgery is very rarely the first option and if something can heal naturally or via rehab, that's often preferred. Rehab could've been first, with surgery as a plan B if things haven't healed by a certain date, so that he's ready for training camp. It's not always black and white.
  3. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for this guy.

  6. That's one of the reasons we are here. The main reason is because we retained Rhule for the first 1/3rd of the season. Had we kept him the full season, we would probably have that first pick without the trade. There's no guarantee Tepper would keep Wilks just for making the playoffs. I still think a win or two would be necessary. However you want to spin it, I'm ready and excited for what's next.
  7. I do believe the Panthers would've preferred to keep Moore, but remember that anything an agent says is intended to make their clients look as valuable as possible, directly impacting their own income.
  8. The Texans have a 1 at Center. How is that even possible?
  9. Without Rodney Peete, does Delhomme ever get a shot? Thanks Tep!
  10. You should save those messages for the people who actually bitched and complained about Tepper, instead of assuming that it was everyone. At least check a poster's history first before making comments like that.
  11. Wouldn't this be a better fit in the tread about if we trade up to #1?
  12. Hey @Jmac, I had the same thought as you on the subject. Lots of discussion on it over here.
  13. I've been giving this some thought, and it's hard to see the Panthers going any other route this year than marrying a new HC with a new QB. If you have a guy that you love like Bryce Young, you have the capital to do it, so you make it happen. I have no idea what trade value would look like, but the Panthers have assets that would be a great fit for Chicago like Brian Burns and/or DJ Moore. I'm in the camp that likes Burns and would hate to lose him, but you have to believe he would be in play and is probably valued at around 2 first rounders+, himself. I think Burns + our first rounder this year (#9) and the 49ers 2nd rounder would be in-play. I could be way off when it comes to value, but I think the Panthers can get that pick without sacrificing the future. If you were the Panthers and coveted the #1 overall pick, what would be your move to get it from the Bears?
  14. First ever person to play in and broadcast the same Super Bowl. Let's gooooo
  15. Is it not obvious that he's trying to earn the a role as a full time HC? Pretty sure that plays a role.
  16. Thought you meant Tommy Tremble for a second. Lol.
  17. Maybe we don't get it, and in 7 years we'll be perennial contenders after benching Burns. I'm sure there's a 1000% chance this benefits us.
  18. This has been an incredible turn around. Context is everything. Despite being in the terrible division that we are in, it wasn't a question whether or not we were one of the worst, if not the worst team in the league when Rhule was fired. Not only did we have a terrible record, the team had major issues in most areas, except maybe special teams, which is baffling in itself. Since Wilks stepped in, the whole philosophy turned around. Players are being asked to play within their skill sets, we're leaning into our strengths and not trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Time management has improved. It no longer feels like we're beating ourselves. I can't think of one area that hasn't improved significantly since he stepped in. There is still a lot that can happen in the next month, so I wouldn't negotiate that contract yet. But as of today, it's his job to lose without a doubt.
  19. Thank goodness Rivera is in a shitty division this year and has Heinicke to pick up the slack and have them as the #6 seed right now. I can't wait until we one day have sustained success.... hopefully. But even then, comments like these will probably continue with whatever staff is in place. I live in Eagles & Steeler territory, and did you know in the 20 years since they had a losing record, the sustained success is due to Tomlin inheriting Cowher's roster, as well as lucking into the star players they had? According to their fans, it's all in spite of Tomlin and has nothing to do with coaching. Since the NFL expanded to 16+ games, only 5 teams managed to go 15-1 or better, including that 2015 Panthers team. Even with Peyton Manning calling the shots with the Colts in his prime, multiple Hall of Fame players and a Hall of Fame coach, he never pulled off a season like the Panthers in 2015. And only had 1 Super Bowl win in 13 years with that Colts team. The constant bickering about "what could have been" with a better coach needs to stop. Rivera has his faults, but if we had somebody other than Rivera at the helm during the Cam & Luke years, those years could have been much worse. At least Rivera knew how to let his playmakers be playmakers.
  20. Yup! It's great to see. Not everyone needs to be miserable when things don't go right for the team. It's not life or death. It's entertainment and it should be a fun experience. Props to those that can still enjoy what's been a rough few years.
  21. There are a lot of people that spend more time reading than posting. Responses like yours are a big reason why.
