Carolina Panthers will target offense in round one
GoobyPls replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm crossing my fingers someone drafts Henry before it's our turn to pick. We have picked a RB in what? 4 straight drafts all which have barely contributed. If we do draft a RB let it be someone like Kieth Marshall or Kenyan Drake a speed back who can return kicks. -
If YOUR gonna be the grammar police in a forum were have the people are half assing more power to you. You keep making these assumption that Norman's career is all down hill from here, how the hell can you be so sure when I just gave 4 examples of guys who all played well in there 30s. And no Revis and Ty Law were not great athletes they have always been more technically sound than anything else. Offensive coordinators are gonna study him? Wtf So are you saying after giving up ZERO TD in 2014 NFL OC weren't taking notice of him until now? Really? The Giants changed their entire game plan when they went against Norman, they had Beckham coming out of the backfield, The Falcons used Julio as the Y receiver when he usually plays X when the face Norman. Last year our pass rush was so bad Norman was the main one keeping our D afloat especially when Luke was out. And no reconstructing a contract usually means more guaranteed money which is better for the cap

Why are you making broad statement on a player that has been great for us the last two season while getting paid peanuts? Your gonna predicts a man's future I'm gonna give a smart ass response Norman is part of the elite tier of corners and most elite tier corners play at a pro bowl if not all pro level in there 30s Champ Bailey, Woodson, Ty Law now Revis. Norman's game was never based on athleticism so the chances of him burning out early seem a little far fetched And like I said we can always reconstruct his deal if his talents diminish, its not the end of the world.

Brink of Decline? If you can see the future please tell me the lotto numbers. Norman is just starting to peak, there have been plenty of CB who have played at an all pro level after their 30s. You can strongly make a case our back 7 were the ones holding this defense together , outside of Short our front four was mediocre for the majority of the season. And yes if Star continues to suffer injury after injury and getting off to slow starts I would be willing to part ways to keep Norman. FYI We can always reconstruct Normans contract as the years pass
-
Do you have amnesia? Our pass rush was terrible for the first half the season, we went 3 games without a legit sack. Norman still shut down his side of the field. In all honesty I would rather resign Norman over any D linemen. Finding a lockdown corner is damn near impossible in today's game. There are only 3 guys in the nfl considered shutdown corners and Norman is one of them

Is Kony Ealy the next great Panthers defensive end?
GoobyPls replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Outside of Peppers have we had any other great DE's? Johnson and Hardy were good, I think Ealy can be as good as those 2. -
Keep in mind coming into week 10 I believe, Wilson had 9 td and 7 int

what time is the game? NFL.com says 4:30 yet I keep hearing 3:30 from other places -
Why do people use PFF as some sort of legitimate source? Their grading system is retarded Apparently the O-line did good even though Cam was getting his arm hit every other pass, and they deduct those points on Cam's grade,

Panthers Training Camp Photos and Notes - Final Practice
GoobyPls replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm kind of hoping our offense implodes Saturday, which will then force us to make a trade. Unless they don't care about Cam. -
Now we have to run some prehistoric offense from the 60s barely speaking by. That means we have no room for error and if we get down by double digits we are whole heartedly screwed. The sad thing is Cam has the capability of handling a pass first offense if it wasn't for our receivers. Still hoping for a trade

just when things were looking up.

First week of mini camp maybe, ever since TP I've heard nothing but inconsistency

Is it me or the offense hasn't had a good showing the entire off season?

Monday Practice Photos and Notes (not fight related)

I haven't heard much from Funchess, how is he doing? Why is that every time a receiver has a nice catch its from DA throwing to them? Does Cam have any chemistry with the new guys yet? -
How does it feel knowing an 8th grader knows more football than you? Weren't you on the Martin train? LMAO how did that plan out.

You still haven't come to grip with reality yet huh?

Oher sucks, water is still wet. He was never a good LT to begin with, his best years were at RT.

Its funny how Cowherd is such a prick on air when he's by himself trying to be a contrarian, but when he's interviewing someone he's a kiss ass asking the dumbest questions. Harbaugh is a maniac

Last season? Our offense was an enigma. He we ran more "college style plays" than any other team in the NFL, and towards the end we went heavily with the no huddle and read option. The Coryell relies a lot on attacking vertically, last season were one of the worst teams in the league in terms of big plays. Cam's rookie season under Chud we had more of a vertical passing game but ever since then its been intermediate passing game, chewing up the clock.
