this i lowkey the story of the season and i do not fuging understand it at all

i loved the hire. I thought ruhle was a great candidate. He had shown he could compete in college without the advantage of recruiting, which is the kind of thing that sunk guys like Saban and now Urban. He was very forward thinking and implemented a ton of sports science stuff that I think has merit on its own. He was a huge departure from the usual panthers hire. And it really looks like it isn't going to work out. At this point if the panthers hired Jim Caldwell I would be thrilled.

Post your ideal Panthers offseason!

Even something as small as a virus can knock Derrick Brown on his ass

I think you're just trying to cram something into a narrative. He was with the same coaching staff and players that have created one of the better defenses in the nfl this year, and one of the best of all time after the first three weeks.

Hasson Reddick… what are you going to offer him?
electro's horse replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
im not offering him anything reddick is the same player as burns and will be more expensive. Reddick has absolutely gone into merchant mode and is overpursuing everything to try to get a sack. A tag and trade could make sense but you'd need a team that feels like they're just one pass rush specialist away from competing. And even then you're not getting as much as you think you will; you're probably only going to get a third rounder for him. Honestly might make just as much sense to let him walk and play the comp pick roulette. -
I think he was pretty toxic in the locker room. He never really played and kinda acted like he wanted out.

And he had a good game yesterday too. at least in the first half. fug that guy

Losing Out is the Way
electro's horse replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
i don't agree fans in general, and this board in particular, have this weird belief that you either win the superbowl or lose out for draft position we get 17 games a year. no one knows how the draft will shake up. just win the game. it's why i don't understand people being upset we beat washington and lost draft position or whatever. we still got a great player, even though he hurt his foot in a freak injury. maybe we get senei, who knows. but you know what we did get? to beat ron fuging rivera. and that means a lot to me. -

i like watching the young players, I like focusing on offensive or defensive lineman, etc. main thing is that i've been watching this team since 95 and i've gotten good at watching a team that isn't in contention.

Interesting nugget from Rhule’s Brady presser
electro's horse replied to CRA's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think Moore wants to be here anymore. -
That team started out 1-3 and there was fuging blood in the water. The Panthers had just poo the fuging bed in Arizona coming out of a bye. They beat the hell out of the Cardinals but lost due to a hideous offensive gameplan. This was after starting 1-6 the season before, including one of the most gut wrenching regular season losses in team history that involved a 4th and short and a certain undersized safety. There were constant threads about firing rivera. In retrospect I don't think anyone can say that Rivera didn't come into a better situation. I mean yes he drafted Cam but that was a no brainer, and also a consolation pick. The team was also better when he inherited it, especially what ruhle inherited. And yet thinks are far more hostile now than they were then. So why is that? Obviously this was a decade ago, the internet as a whole had not yet grown as caustic. Why is Ruhle different?

Interesting nugget from Rhule’s Brady presser
electro's horse replied to CRA's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seifert just straight didn't give a poo, got rid of his best qb after 2000, and completely checked out after the redskins game. -
So i really don't think this is that big of a deal. I'm not sure it changes much of anything for the team that wasn't going to be changed anyway. I think, barring something unforeseen, Ruhle is going to be back and this doesn't really change that. next year will be a make or break. I think this does mean that he and brady have very differing views of how the rest of the season should play out. There's been sniping in the media previously that indicated they haven't been on the same page for much of the season. If I had to guess, I'd say that ruhle probably just wants to run out the year and didn't think Brady would do that.

i mean they literally need SOMEONE to do the job right now they're not bringing anyone from outside the organization in at this point to run someone else's offense

obviously the big programs CAN outspend an NFL team, as we've seen, but I don't know if Oklahoma has that kind of scratch. It would make sense though with their impending switch to the SEC.
