Offensive Schemes, Running Game & Blocking FYIs
electro's horse replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
What the fug is a “small ball x” you are making up terms how can you say thielen isn’t doing well in this offense? Hes one of the most productive wide receivers in the league Just admit you were on shrooms it’s fine I do them too -

I'm just not understanding what you keep talking about in regards to "building an offense" for what Frank/Young wanted would be doing. I think we all agree throwing Moore into the trade with Chicago was something that Tepper at least signed off on, if not encouraged. Free agency started on March 15th. Panthers were by all reports all in on stroud until they had dinner with him on March 22nd, when SOMETHING in the national/beat writer conversation changed. And then the draft happened on April 27th. So he had a month, starting a week after the start of free agency, so do....what? Like what moves are you saying he didn't do? Are you upset about him signing Thielen? That seemed to work out. Chark was probably someone Staley wanted due to their connection in Detroit. Sanders was someone Reich wanted for whatever reason. There was an attempt to resign Forman but I've heard conflicting reports about whether he was asking too much or they were lowballing him. No one here is defending Fitterer. He has to go. But no one is quite understanding the point you're trying to make. And quite frankly I have no idea what you're talking about. What moves did Fitterer not make that he could have, given the timeline and the likely late change to Bryce in the predraft process? To me, all this seems like a Coach and a GM had an idea of how the team was going until the owner just decided to change everything at the last second. It completely fits Tepper's MO up to this point and his reputation that is coming out more and more. So you're laughing, actually? -
Sure but any free agent qb can come in to this situation and struggle and show absolutely nothing. the only reason people are hanging on to optimism is because of what was given up for him. if this was Andy dalton doing it no one would be calling for patience. The number 1 overall pick, what was given up for him aside, should at least show SOMETHING to be hopeful for. Bryce hasn’t done that.

Oh I absolutely doubt his football IQ. He’s shown nothing at the nfl level that indicates he’s in control of the offense. Or that he knows where the defense will be. He’s throwing bad picks, and has had multiple picks over the past three weeks on terrible decisions. He threw one pass into quad coverage in Chicago under no pressure. dude is a complete fraud.

Fitterer also built the offensive line that carried the team in the second half of last season and nearly got them into the playoffs. your main point is that he didn’t magically switch the entire offense to what would suit Bryce young the best. we know that it was teppers call to make the bears trade. We know that tepper has convinced himself they don’t need wide receivers. Is that really fitterers fault? Should he have resigned in protest? And the offensive line….what should he have cut them all/traded everyone for different players? Like what is a gm really supposed to do there when (someone) says they’re going to play a completely different style than the personnel are chosen for? Fitterer did what he could. He drafted the best WR they had other board. I guess he didn’t draft tank dell but neither did 31 other teams for two rounds. He signed thielen who’s been one of the most productive players in the league. Reich is the one who wanted sanders for whatever this offense is. the more things happen the more it seems like everything was thrown together by some message board idiot who thinks he’s smarter than everyone who simulated the whole season on madden. “Yeah let’s draft this point guard qb with the high s2 score and just run a similar offense to what he did at Alabama and also I’m making this decision a month before the draft.” So Tepper. reich and fitterer have to go, and the burns trade looks worse every week, but fit isn’t the biggest problem here. And there’s no offensive set up that’s going to allow Bryce to succeed. Bryce cannot complete the route tree at the nfl level. that is not going to change.

15 year season ticket holder... I won't be renewing
electro's horse replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
they're so inexpensive now because the Panthers have had 2 winning seasons in the last ten years. -
In addition to Tepper ordering the trade, the Panthers then engaged in (what is now) an obvious, orchestrated PR/media campaign to portray him as some football savant point guard who was going to use his cerebral prowess to overcome the lack of receivers. But don't take my word for it! https://x.com/uSTADIUM/status/1710386117386609008?s=20 The coaches hid him during the preseason (who needs preseason snaps in games, he's getting them in practice!) and told every reporter that he was "special." He was anointed the starter after like three passes in a preseason game. Recall he also looked like poo in preseason against base defenses. And the rest of the year, Reich looks like someone is pointing a gun at his family's head behind the camera. It's speculation of course, but he sure does look like someone who has seen first hand how bad Young is and how this is probably the end of his career. Fitterer has to go, as does Reich. You can't have failure of this magnitude without without repercussions. And not trading Burns looks worse every single week. But from what we know, and the available timeline, this is Tepper's mess. And we're fuged. Totally, completely fuged. I can't think of an NFL team this fuged in the short term since I've been paying attention to football. Maybe the texans team during the Watson saga and that weird religious weirdo running them into the ground, but they at least had assets in the draft. Panthers have nothing.

that trade was ordered by Tepper. We know this. tepper is on video admitting it. https://x.com/avl_mike/status/1724772224631017866?s=20 And per every single beat reporter, Rodrigue, and albright the Panthers were dead set on CJ Stroud until that fuging dinner with the FO, Teppers, and the coaching staff. I cannot bring myself to believe that a table full of former NFL players (Reich, Brown) looked at Bryce Young and thought he could survive in the NFL. It is going to come out that Tepper (nicole or david) commanded them to draft Bryce Young. I guarantee it. And it's going to be something stupid like Nicole not liking how CJ Stroud spoke or something. We can only imagine why Tepper tried to push Tomlin out of Pittsburgh.

pj went 16/22 with 177 yards and two TDs against Tampa. If bryce had done that, people on here would be buying custom gold jackets

two catchable passes over ten yards from LOS, if we're being honest.

I keep thinking of that clip of tepper meeting Bryce at the door of the locker room after the Houston win. he looked like he felt so goddamn vindicated. so obviously his pick.
