You grip things with your fifth and fourth finger. It’s why that’s how you have a firm hand grip. Or if you’re deadlifting that’s generally where the strength of the grip comes from. when throwing the ball, the thumb acts as a backstop and fulcrum for the rest of the throw. If you can’t guide it you’ll lose accuracy and power. like serve a tennis racquet without using your thumb. You wouldn’t be able to get anything on it, and you couldn’t reliably hit the ball anywhere.

Dalton has a broke thumb on his throwing hand so I’ll give him a pass.

I didnt write this but I think it’s the right read on rhule Rhule’s conference win percentage at Nebraska is like 40%, that’s a far cry from almost always winning. I don’t think Rhule was anyone’s first choice. LSU and PSU just fired guys who are better versions of what Rhule is supposed to be, a “program builder.” The dollar store version isn’t going to be appealing. Florida probably needs someone like that but they’d be much better off with Franklin. Then a tier down you’ve got schools that have comparable of fewer resources than Nebraska and they wouldn’t target him because why would he leave Nebraska to go somewhere that’s in worse shape than Nebraska? If he can actually do something at Nebraska maybe he will be a hot commodity again but he’s six years removed from being a guy anyone’s getting excited about hiring.

Left to right is efficiency per pass past the first read, so yeah obviously Mahomes is far right Top to bottom is how often the qb throws past his first read. Fields looks off his first read the most often, while Carson wentz lmao another way to read this, top right is spreads the ball around and does well when they do it. bottom left is rarely throwing to second or third read, sucking when they try (again, carson) From what I can tell, Bryce is about league league average on what percentage of the time he throws past his first read, but well below average on how efficient he is. Not a great cluster of QBs to be stuck with. Rattler was just benched.

Otoh getting trade value from two games of rb production that you picked up off the street is a no brainer. Panthers aren’t competing this year, probably not next year, and Rico wouldn’t resign here anyway. This would be the definition of selling high.

No one wants a rb on a contract who’s probably banged up. everyone wants someone like Rico on a one year deal. you can just force teams to accept trades. They have to want what you’re selling

They were running right at DB on Sunday which is traditionally how you handle dominant DTS If they run away from him it gives him an opportunity to throw someone out of the way. As a coach, your first year you’re green. Second year….still green, but a different kind of green. third year depends on the record. Not doing well? Green still. Gotta be patient. Doing well? Seasoned vet deserving of extension. also you have to have an emotional connection to the coach for unrelated reasons.
