  1. Your point of choosing which portions or posts to pick to highlight or ignore operates much as the point ive been driving at. Stories like this will gather no steam unless brought on by larger forces. No one cares. I simply turn on espn and fox sports this instant and there is no news of it. why we are even discussing it is because of the perennial anti-hero in the middle of another worthless story.
  2. Its a story created by the media spin machine and made larger by the hate of a perennial winner. If this was the Titans, it would have been a Yahoo story at the bottom of the scroll down,..lost in space in about a day. Having little facts out there, just use news headlines to stir the pot, tingle the sensationalism and extreme bias people have and BOOM, everyone makes the media money by watching ESPN and listening to talk radio. Remember Max from the Natural? Players come and go but makes goats or heros out of them as great stories. They dont care what the truth is, just how much attention a story will bring. I dont hate the media, no more than someone should hate drug dealers, pimps, or online porn companies for being capitalists-- they are just making money off of everyone elses bias and self destruction. Ill get off my soapbox now.
  3. like i said, dont be surprised when the league all of a sudden highlights other practices like this because of deflate gate. Plenty of losing teams probably played with footballs for years as its come out more and more. A team gets chased for something and of course they will start calling out others. Wouldnt we? American Beauty takes a satirical jab with the dad getting fired but then defending himself by calling out all the overlooked BS from others. Its just natural,... Our offseason could very well be filled with other stories like this-- as the Patriot office takes jabs behind closed doors. I would.
  4. Bwahahahhahhahahaha And the ridiculous keeps on coming. Good thing is with all the stones going at the Patriots, everyone forgot just how much glass was in their homes. Kraft is probably with Goodell right about now saying hey, the stones are coming, but stop ignoring everyone else. In fact since they are the ones shouting, go see whats in their hypocrite back yards.
  5. I think he has shown he can play on the outside and out of the slot, and has made a difference when he was in. He has also been injured more than once in a season. Therefore i want him to stay. Hes undrafted and many always expect someone to fail even when theh ball out because of it. The dude catches and has shown hes versatile. Doesnt mean we dont draft another if one is there.
  6. Coming from someone whose had a couple of miss carriages, saying you can have a kid any day but the Superbowl is a once in a lifetime comes from misplaced priorities. Sherman already has a Superbowl, is financially secure, and this is his first childs birth. No contest.
  7. He can be really good. I wish he would return.
  8. On everything you just said, in terms of people being hurt, businesses getting put out because they play by the rules and someone else operates illegally. For sure, ill be there with a shotgun too. I know you will disagree, but that's a completely different topic in a different world all together. Getting a coworker fired thats getting promoted by getting 3 pals together and making HR statements that the guy was going to blow the building up and kill a manager(real life, happened to me---) Person who made the statements took my promotion. Now thats just some straight up garbage. I sued for wrongful termination of course and called the cops, they were more than glad to investigate since I was "dangerous". All false statements, the "pals" are charged with slander, and ive got a huge lawsuit going. In sports would be like the Saints. I wouldnt care if it was within the rules technically or not. they put Kurt Warner, Brett Favre(yeh he made it to the next season and maybe would have played his heart out if the team was winning, but he was done basically), and Peyton Manning out on purpose to win. Then they thought it was funny. Comments came from the Saints locker from Sean Peytom about putting the old man in a wheel chair-- referring to Brett Favre. See thats how murders happen. Its not right, but I would have understood. Putting air in a football thats going to cool off---- no one got hurt. Some think its cheating, a few think its smart. If it didnt break any rules technically then other teams are free to do it too therefore its not an unfair advantage. Hence not cheating. Again only if the rules were not broken. If the rules were technically broken then its an unfair advantage even if the views of the advantages are subjective. This is all a different subject as to why its even a rule to be broken. Just make a uniform rule that each team can do what they want with the footballs. Or have the league have 20 footballs for the game and the officials pass them out on the field.
  9. This is an intellegent response and worth debating. In the military, you have an article which is a "catch all" article for things like this. Do something outside of the rules, just because they arent spelled out correctly and you are still screwed. If theres a clause in the NFL bylaws that mentions actions detrimental to the game or some similar language then you would be correct. And that would go back to my statment about being retarded. if they were smart enough to circumvent the rules but somehow forgot to read a rule like that,.. Then I would lose all respect, put them in the category of DUMBEST,...EVER-- Hank Moody style. If they all got banned for life at that point and had the Superbowls stricken from the books and locked out of Canton,.. then they got what they deserved.
  10. True we will always disagree in regards to a game of competition. Ted Turner once won a Yacht sailing race by sailing through the night because there was no rule against it, but no one did. Everyone called it cheating where I call it smart and tenacious. Elections have been won by picking up vans full of voters and bringing them to vote where the competition didnt, going the extra mile. Trainers once figured out that squatting just before a 100 meter race gave .10 off the times. Made the difference between 9.95 and 10.05. Unfair advantage and no integrity? Not in my book. If the balls were done legally without breaking any rules, it was innovative but no doubt will cause a rule change. So we will agree to disagree. On a further note, A debate is just a disagreement however I still respect your point of view. Calling someone like myself, a Marine veteran like my father and grandfather and great grandfather someone with no integrity would be crossing the line. Take care
  11. You are right, the article didnt go into the detail the actual video did, and the author summarizing obviously left out the key details. So your comments are deserving of course, I should have read the synopsis with more scrutiny instead of skimming. My question here would be, what was the true advantage? If there truly is an increased ball security that can be proven maybe. But the disadvantages of the lower velocity for example, while maybe easier to catch a bullet, make it more difficult to get a ball on target accurately. The Patriots run a synchronized thrown open type of offense so this would mess with timing routes. And look, Im not in the air of did they do it or not. Of course they would have to pull out some mad proof at this point for anyone to drop the subject. All Ive been getting at, is the media is having a field day putting out a lot of speculation when none of us have gotten to see the true facts. Im a total innocent and proven guilty kind of guy, regardless of who it is first. Second, as smart as these guys are, I look for the ways they circumvented the rules to come out which will exonerate any rule breaking, even if the outcome was the same. If it comes out with proof(and I mean real proof-- Brady crying while hes begging for forgiveness or a camera or something real) that they just deflated balls, exchanged them as a prior post said above,... whatever,. Then forget about just the punishment, my second as above is respecting a track record of doing things smart. This would be RETARDED. At that point I would lose all respect. You know you are under scrutiny constantly. You are on top of space mountain and people want a piece of you to prove they are not losers so you go and do something totally stupid like this? So I look for it to come out at some point that they put warm air in the balls at 12.5 PSI. There is no rule saying the PSI has to be there at a certain temperature, or what temperature the air inflating them was. Ref checks, balls check out, then they cool off,...boom 10.5 PSI. Everyone still pissed off, but no rule broken technically and therefore not guilty-- Thats smart just like the crazy formations or running around an endzone to run a clock out. No rule against it. So thats me-- hate if you want to. I am a Patriot hater-- but a fan of getting over on rules without technically breaking them. Thats the attorney in me.
  12. I already posted the sports science video and heres the article version. They debunked any advantage and conversely found several disadvantages. Lower velocity, decreased range. Added water from rain increases the weight significantly. Maybe if the weather is bad you give up the velocity accuracy and range so your running back in theory holds onto the now heavier ball better? http://www.espnfrontrow.com/2015/01/deflategate-gets-sport-science-treatment/
  13. Again as I posted from the ESPN Florio article and this one, the Patriots did domething unorthodoxed, but broke no rules. There is no rule on what temperature the air used to inflate the ball was, and no rule about where the balls are tested. Its having a receiver check in ineligible and another line up at left tackle eligible. No cheating. Just being smart.
  14. It also complies with what I said repeatedly that it only applies to a perenial winner, not to losers or nobodies. No one cares if the Panthers cheat or not. The fans ignore it and others just dont care. With the articles I posted above along with others coming out from others, there are more disadvantages to underinflated footballs, lower velocity etc with the added disadvantages of overweighting them when wet. This would suggest it outright stupid for a team to do it for themselves and more a way for an opposing team to sabotage. Either way its just too stupid. Either nothing happened or it will come out the ball boy was a Colts fan,...
  15. One last thing and im finally really out. Check out the Skip video, find out about the Patriots doing their almost perfect season after spygate hit the first game of the season etc. Next, check out the sports science video on a 2psi deflated football and not only having zero advantage, but conversely causing more disadvantages when having water added. It would appear more like someone tried to sabotage the Patriots by hurting their footballs than actually helping them. Again adding to all of my arguments. Non issue, is a completely irrelevant topic that weiners want to fixate on to compensate for their "members" lack of performance. http://m.espn.go.com/wireless/relatedvideos?id=12230916&backText=NFL%20Eyes%20Patriots%20Locker-Room%20Attendant%20-%20Video%20-%20ESPN&back=http%3A%2F%2Fm.espn.go.com%2Fwireless%2Frelatedvideos%3Fid%3D12232397%26cid%3D2459789%26backText%3DNFL%2520Home%2520-%2520ESPN%26back%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fm.espn.go.com%252Fnfl%252F Peace Out.
  16. Dan Marino, John Elway, Aaron Rodgers, Warren Moon, Jimmy Johnson, Jon Gruden, Rodney Peete, and the list goes on. All say this is ridiculous. I wonder what everyone would be saying if this happened to the Panthers? Hummmmm,..
  17. Thank you. there is light where there is dark,.... Actually you said in a few words my point exactly,... Who gives a damn,...
  18. Wait for it.,... Just remember to crawl out of the hole and say I am smart and you like to do the cha cha like a school girl once its found to be no wrongdoing or something else along these lines such as doing it without breaking any rules. if they are found guilty for real, like Brady says he was actually stupid enough to pay a boy to do it, admits it and better yet cries in a press conference like Marion Jones then,... Well,.. I like do,..da cha cha.
  19. The lower level equipment manager thing wont happen. Thats the most embarrasing of possibilities. I think this http://www.businessinsider.com/patriots-deflategate-theory-nfl-rules-2015-1 If the Patriots inflated the balls to 12.5, it was legal, no rule on what psi at what temperature. Thats just smart, its not cheating since its not breaking any rule. What will everyone say if this ends up being the case? The Patriots used legal, though unorthodox play formations and John Harbaugh was screaming illegal to the point that now hes a dumbass. so what if it turns out the balls were inflated legally, though unorthodox? Probably the same from all the haters. I hate the Patriots lifelong, regardless of what people get out of my posts, but if they did this and its legal,.. Then shame on everyone else.
  20. The contradictions you point out are actually separations 2 separate points. Ive said repeatedly that breaking the rules warrants penalties,.period. This point though many are not yelling about cheating because its cheating, they are yelling because they believe this is why their team is a habitual loser and the Patriots are habitual winners. Thats the cowardice and loser attitude I make reference to. As far as personal belief, teams are always looking for an advantage and we hear repeatedly about rules being pushed broken, shades of gray, peds, faking injuries to stop a drive, flopping to draw penalties etc. When its our team, its all ok. Peds, flopping, faking an injury, whatever. Every fan is like that. This hate for the Patriots has little to fo with them actually breaking rules, again like everyone else does, and more to do with what I already pointed out. Its confirmation bias. See, I told you those guys were cheating, no way they are always that much better than everyone else with less talent,.. People do that at work when someone out sells everyone else. People do that when others make more money- they are all selling drugs,.. For the games. The balls where reinflated at halftime, but the Patriots ran away with the 2nd half. The team has a higher winning percentage after spygate than before. All talking points on ESPN repeatedly. Just saying good teams adjust. Bad teams dont and just make excuses. And I dont blame people who dont like cheating, but you have to call a spade a spade. And you cant live in a bubble and believe in a world this competitive people dont push envelopes. Mangini helped tape, but went to the jets, blew the story. Total hypocrite. Anyway I appreciate the back and forth but im tapping out. We will all have to agree to disagree.
  21. This back and forth is exhausting, as it also is watching everyone rewrite history and also type posts which are partially read. I did not say the whistle blowers are cowards. I said cowards blame others for their failures. I didnt say its courageous to tape practices-- Im sure everyone did it. All teams watch tape on each other, they all try to steal signals and plays. The difference with that was, there was never a denial. Belicheck said from the beginning that he felt he was operating within the rules, handed over tapes and cooperated. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_National_Football_League_videotaping_controversy As far as the effect of Spygate, and speaking of being a coward or not. Read the owner of the Steelers comments after Arlen Spectar charged that the Patriots had used tapings in the Steelers AFC Championship losses. Rooney--- "We consider the tapes of our coaching staff during our games against the New England Patriots to be a non-issue. In our opinion, they had no impact on the results of those games." This is how those with character and class handle themselves. Cowards would blame the loss on the ridiculous tapes. Others such as Jimmy Johnson state that it was common practice, only Belicheck got caught-- and many couldnt believe there were fines or suspensions involved. Again-- good teams will adjust, bad teams dont-- but ignorant chicken hawks will turn around and say they arent bad-- they have some excuse. I will of course post this for nothing. Of course it will be twisted, misinterpreted and once again someone will say to ME I have a comprehension problem, or to go blow Brady some more--- You guys are all too smart for me,.. I can barely keep up. Tapping out of this one.
  22. Shuuu-- he wont have to READ the article-- he will just repost yours! I really dont believe the ball pressure would drop that much either,..but its just so funny watching everyone actually believe that ball pressure dropped by 2 psi will actually be the difference to a team going to 6 Superbowls and 9 AFC Championships in 14 years,...... I still believe if they are actually caught and its proven then I agree with Colin Cowherd--- its Hard Knocks for 2 years, coach and Brady suspended--- smack them hard. Thats always been on the table-- break the rules and pay big. But Im not going to sit here and actually believe the Patriots have been a better team than everyone else in that time period just because of Spygate and underinflated balls,.. Teams can make in game adjustments but just dont-- We didnt against Arizona and they had our number. Larry Fitzgerald even bragged about it afterwards about how they had our coverages, routes, and signals---- did they breakrules to get them? Nothing proved,... Arizona adjusted to our offense after our first drive,... Fox refused to make adjustments and we got killed. but just like that or video,... any team can and should have the NFL smart big money ability to make adjustments during a game. Just dont be a coward and say you lost because of your stupidity. True cheating is having college players sneak in and play for your high school team--- or paying off the refs to call flags on you at every given opportunity(Steelers in 2005--not caught but COME ON)--- intentionally throwing a first half to win a bet(Winston),... and I still believe Neal ODonnell threw the 1995 Superbowl-- anyone remember that game? I do. Thats the whole argument. And also the lop sided hate and ignorance of other teams do wrongs-- The Panthers and Seahawks and Chargers for that matter did not loose draft picks or go through this type of scrutiny for their PED cultures,.. Why????? Because they were nobody. Now that the Seahawks are becoming Somebody--watch out and stay tuned-- all the love turns to haterade real fast when someone is dominating. Have the Seahawks win this Superbowl and next week the PED gate and Carrolls cheating track record will be sky lined,....
  23. Hilarious and still confirmation bias,.. if you even know what that means,... I can do that too-- and yes I am a true fan-- because this is all ridiculous to me. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/21/cold-weather-does-indeed-reduce-ball-pressure/ Read em and weep smalls,..... And theres plenty more where that came from--- so keep it up and ill biach slap you every time. Maybe instead of smoking cigars you could use the money instead to go back to school?
  24. Actually its coming out more and more that if the minimum allowed pressure of 12.5 is used and its really cold then the preasure goes down to around 10.5-11. the conlusion will be there was no wrongdoing and all of this has been a stupid witchhunt. Everyone of course that believes their Buffalo Bills or Cleveland Browns team should be on top instead of the Patriots will of course start screaming that we never went to the moon and that the x files are real. I would rather see the Panthers get smarter and continue to improve. This childish confirmation bias by everyone just to feel better about the disparity between the Patriots and all the other teams is just ridiculous. Actually when Seattle wins this Superbowl and its 2 in a row,... I wonder if JuiceGate and Holding Gate will start? You know, PEDs are only in Seattle, or the corners there are getting away with pass interference right and left like theres Ms Elizabeth at the side distracting the refs while Macho hits Hogan over the head with her loaded purse,.....
