Dunn, I don't really disagree with the majority of what you said with the exception of a little hyperbole. In my opinion Smitty was never a lockeroom cancer. I'm not sure I ever heard that. The guy obviously had his way of doing things and was the leader on this team for many years during good times and bad. Young Cam needed to be the new leader and it was very difficult for him to take reigns from the guy that had been "Mr. Panther" for so many years. It bothered me at the time but I think it was a smart, strategic move for the franchise to let him go and turn the page so to speak. The franchise has moved on and won't be looking to bring him back until he walks on the field to retire his jersey.

In 5 years it will be a funny memory bro. :) The bad lands are a fun place when you are back in normal world. Not fun at the time I give you .

Thanks for the info. Thats a bit of a bummer. Wonder if that will be a sticking point? Maybe so, just business. Don't think he or us will mind waiting a year to retire a panther. Might just add some nostalgia that makes for a good ceremony.

The ship hasn't sailed. It's just not going to be adrift when some want it to be. He will retire a panther ... sometime after this season is is over or before start of the new season. Mark it down.
