  1. So... injured players should still rack up 15 sacks per season? Got it.
  2. Have to add this... it's too funny. Joe Person ‏@josephperson 9m9 minutes agoPhoenix, AZ The always quotable Dave Gettleman dropped another Yiddish gem on us today. On free agency: "We're still futzing around with a couple guys."
  3. I'm not saying he won't fall off, but if the last couple of years are any indication, he should be okay for a couple more. I definitely don't expect any outrageous numbers to be thrown around. I understand what you're getting at though.
  4. He's also missed close to 3 years of games, due to the ACL injuries. That's 3 years that his body hasn't been punished like most guys his age/position. I think he'll still produce at a fairly high level for at least a couple more years, which is likely what the extension will look like.
  5. I agree. I think a 4 year extension, with the last two being voidable, wouldn't be an issue at all. That would put him around 31 when the two voidable years come up, and we can either move on, or let him play, if he's still producing at a high level. I feel like there's all kinds of positives doing a deal that way.
  6. I figure that will be one of the main topics of discussion, once everyone actually reads the whole article. Honestly though, not much more out there in FA, and I'm sure he's not banking on a draft pick being better. I'm still thinking he grabs a couple of tackles, if the value is there, to give a year or two of development behind Oher. Obviously he's not a long term answer... unless Matsko works some magic.
  7. First off... fug yeah on extending TD! Also, more good tidbits worth discussion. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article16197296.html
  8. That's cool and all, but why exactly is Rivera getting all the blame for blown defenses? I mean, I can completely understand blaming him for the clock management issues. I can understand blaming him for "playing it safe" when we have the lead, offensively speaking, because he's admitted those are his calls. However, the defense getting blown up, or letting late game leads slip away, I really can't blame him for those. McDermott is the DC, not Rivera. Yes, Rivera was/is a great defensive mind, but he doesn't run the defense. He's said that numerous times. Why does McDermott get a pass in all of this? We're all so quick to poo on Shula, but McDermott is untouchable? Why is he even employed? Please, correct me if I'm just completely off track.
  9. We lost 4 games in 2013. One the Saints blew us out, and one the Cards blew us out. So two late game leads blown against Seattle and Buffalo. In 2014, we were blown out of the water in 6 games. Seattle and Atlanta were our late game blown leads. Again, two late game leads blown. 4 late game leads blown, out of 32 games played = numerous?
  10. Especially tough when you're drafting in the second half of the round.
  11. Hey, if I hadn't been raised around so much of it, I could probably say the same thing. I'm not much of a dessert person. I'd rather have the extra helping of the main course.
  12. So how has it been? You know, having not lived and all?
  13. Are we sure he yelled "surprise!"? That's an important piece of the puzzle!
  14. Guys fighting doesn't hold, even close to, the weight of a guy physically abusing a woman.
  15. WTF? Something is seriously wrong with you bruh...
  16. Some people's priorities are completely fuged...
  17. Is it still considered rape, if you yell "surprise!" first?
  18. Two good press guys could mean just that. When we have a good pass rush, it's stopped by those damn timing routes anyway. If you have good press corners, it works hand-in-hand with the pass rush, and helps eliminate dink and dunk offenses... which has given us a lot of trouble the past couple of years. Main problem is... you gotta have safeties that can help with the deep ball when pressing. Otherwise, it's all for naught.
  19. Jones was perfect to have in there vs. the run, he absolutely blew up screens, and is a good blitz option. You can't help but like that. I don't care for him in coverage though.
  20. Then there's this... Joe Person ‏@josephperson 4m4 minutes ago Free agent CB Alan Ball visiting #Panthers today. If things go well, will leave w/ a contract.
  21. David Newton ‏@DNewtonespn 4m4 minutes ago Confirmed, #Panthers have reached a one-year deal with former Jaguars CB Alan Ball.
