  1. Jets were offered a first round pick for Sam prior to us grabbing him https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/sam-darnold-rumors-49ers-offered-first-rounder-to-jets-prior-to-trade-with-panthers-per-report/amp/
  2. This is really all it is. We didn’t trade for Darnold knowing he would be our guy. It was a complete shot in the dark after Rhule decided he liked him and he still had a ton of potential. I’m very confident if Fields is available at 8 we take him Figuring things out between Sam and Justin sounds a hell of a lot better than figuring them out between Mac and Teddy
  3. 1. Lawrence 2. Wilson 3. Fields 4. Pitts 5. Sewell 6. Chase 7. Slater 8. Surtain
  4. Who I really want but don’t expect to be there Justin Fields Who I want and expect to be available Penei Sewell
  5. If we go 10-7 or better Sam passes for 4000+ and 35 touchdowns. Limit the picks to around 10. We have the talent and coaching to make this happen. I feel like these are pretty realistic for a franchise QB on our current team
  6. There is no world, universe, realm, or afterlife where Teddy Bridgewater is a better QB than Sam Darnold. The one throw he’s probably better at is the check down. I’ll give him that.
  7. Draft Sewell at 8 and our line becomes above average. I share Stephen As optimism on Sam. Let’s see what he can do with competent coaching and teammates.
  8. It will sound silly to some but I was extremely pessimistic with Teddy, and probably more optimistic with Sam than I should be. I think adding him opened up a ton for our offense, and the defense will be a year further in the system. Add in a good draft pick or two and we should be quite a bit further ahead than last season.
  9. I wouldn’t be surprised if we grabbed Fields or Lance if they are there at 8. But I don’t think they will be. So sign me up for Sewell
  10. The same posters flaunting that Teddy will have a better year than Sam are probably the same ones that killed him the most when he threw a two yard pass on 4th and 8.
  11. If you want to blame the staff and hold on the the Teddy signing, not much I can say. It was an awful move. But for where we finished and sat in the draft, this was probably the best case scenario for the team going into next season. The Watson ship sailed and here we are. But I’m sure if you were running the team we would have 3 Super Bowls right now. Gotta love the couch GMs. I’m willing to see how this plays out. If Sam isn’t the answer, we lost one year. It will be a better year no matter what than playing noodle arm Teddy.
  12. Considering I had zero excitement before yesterday, not as crazy a jump as it sounds.
  13. 1000 percent more interested. Not only do we have a better QB with more potential, but we get to add an exciting player around him since we don’t have to trade everything for a QB. I was probably not going to watch another game until Teddy was done. And now I don’t have to worry about that.
  14. There isn’t a lot of risk in trading for Sam. His upside is 1000 times higher than Teddys was with us. At the most we lose a second next season, but depending on how the season plays out, it might be closer to a third. To me it’s a win/win with what we were working with. We all would have loved to be drafting at 3 to grab Fields, but that ship sailed, and we made the best situation out of a tough season. If Sam doesn’t get better, we move along next season and only lost a second. If he does work out, we got a franchise QB for virtually nothing in comparison to what others are giving up. A very young defense has a year under its belt, upgrade CB and OL in the draft, and CMC is completely healthy. Let’s see what happens.
  15. Igo your Teddy threads made me want to throw up, but I am one thousand percent behind you on this one! Let’s support Sam and see what he can do with a competent coach and coordinator. Not to mention some help on the field.
  16. I’m excited about his potential with a competent staff and surrounding talent. He will have tools and plays available to him here that he dreamed of having in New York. You guys could at least wait until he plays a game before you prepare your doomsday bunkers.
  17. I never expected the top four to be at 8. But I’m cool with drafting Fields or Lance there. Just don’t see it being an option.
  18. Darnold is going to make a lot of you kiss his ass next season. I can be excited about the Panthers again. Talented QB, modern head coach, and can draft BPA in the upcoming draft. Lot to be excited about moving forward.
  19. He’s better than Teddy. Has a big arm and can actually make exciting plays. This way we can still draft BPA at 8 and get this thing going.
  20. They would charge us an arm and a leg being in the same division. Guess it depends on how badly we want to move on from Teddy.
  21. Would be an upgrade over Teddy no doubt. I’m for it for a third or fourth.
  22. Thanks for the info. I have wanted Fields if we couldn’t get Lawrence for the past two seasons.
  23. Is it realistic to expect Fields to be at 8? Even Lance? If we want Fields I’m not sure we even get him at 6
