Dane Brugler's 2023 Draft Guide a.k.a. "The Beast"
WUnderhill replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Man, if my kid is in line to make my family wealthy for generations, I’m staying in their dorm, waking them up for workouts, doing all their homework so they can study football, holding their hands and smacking beers away at parties, vetting all potential girlfriends making sure they’re on board with football first, driving them to practice, you name it. -
Which QB Best Fits Reichs RPO Style Offense?
WUnderhill replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think they’ll keep 3. Hopefully the 3rd is Corral, not Eason. Keep Corral and develop him, showcase him next preseason, and hopefully get something in return in a trade. -
Which QB Best Fits Reichs RPO Style Offense?

It doesn’t have to involve QB running for the QB to take more hits. If the QB is holding the ball in the RBs gut they just tee off on the QB whether he pulls the ball back or not. -
Which QB Best Fits Reichs RPO Style Offense?

Yeah no rpo for me thanks, I want a QB for 15 yrs not 5. -
LaPorta just doesn’t bring enough blocking, and based on his size I don’t think he ever will. He’s a receiving TE and his speed is good but again, size wise he’s not going to consistently body LBs over the middle IMO. I think he could be a good but not great receiving TE and average blocker, so I just don’t see the upside with him that I do with some others. Washington and Musgrave are better blockers, especially Washington, who provide more potential upside in the receiving game, even though Washington is kind of heavy footed. Kuntz is maybe as good of a blocker right now, but his athleticism at 6’7 is insane and gives him more room to grow than LaPorta. I think the only TEs I’d really want at the top of the second will be gone in Kincaid and Mayer. I like Washington, Musgrave, and Kuntz all in round 3 but they may all be gone since our rd 3 pick is kinda late. I’d be fine with LaPorta in that case. He’s TE 6 for me.

Drew Sanders but I have a feeling he’s going round 1.

I feel like there’s some real high upside TEs in this class and that LaPorta is not one of them. I sure as hell don’t want him with our 2nd rd pick. Would rather take Zack Kuntz in the 3rd, just hoping he lasts that long. I think Kincaid is first TE off the board in the first round. Wouldn’t mind Musgrave either.

Panthers sign recently unretired NT John Penisini

Starting 12 of 32 games seems pretty good for a 6th rounder. -
Here we go. This is a #1 pick we can all support

Her combine numbers are incredible. We can teach her everything else about the position, but you can’t coach an 11ft vertical out of a back handspring. Make it happen. -
Which player will benefit the most in the 3-4 Defense
WUnderhill replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I worry about Bryce Young’s size in a 3-4. The first time a 300 lb o-lineman lands on him his bones will be crushed into a fine powder. I think Stroud is better suited for the beating of a 3-4. -
Lol the Mavs just gave up the play-in game to protect a top 10 pick and we intentionally play ourselves out of the t3 for what?

Get ready for Derrick Browns next contract…..
WUnderhill replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Remember when 25m/yr was only QB money? Holy moly. -
I didn’t, Draft Day and Madden are just similar levels of fantasy to me. Didn’t know it was that serious, mb.

What do you mean by experience exactly? They’re both juniors with one year of D-1 starting experience. I think Richardson actually has more D-1 experience, since I’m pretty sure he started at least one game as a sophomore and played in a few. Cam had a year at the juco level, I’m not sure that’s worth a whole lot in the “experience” department.

Yep, and I’ve simmed it in Madden 1000 times and it’s pretty much a guarantee that we can get Anderson, Stroud, Young, Bijan Robinson, Jalen Carter, Dalton Kincaid, and JSN and all we give up is our second-7th round picks and Miles Sanders.
-
Man, he’s nothing like Cam. He does not play up to his combine numbers and is crap throwing the football with 53% completion rate. He had like one good game in his whole career. Cam was the polar opposite. Cam played bigger and faster than his combine numbers. Ran like a horse, juked linemen out of their shoes, trucked LBs, and threw absolute darts on frozen ropes into tight windows with a high completion rate. Was a man amongst men in the SEC and absolutely dominated. AR is pure projection based on workouts in shorts with no translation to on field success at this point.

Pauline believes it's Stroud, but Reich wants AR
WUnderhill replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think this makes a better point for Bryce tbh. You don’t pass on the smaller receiver even though he’s better than the bigger receiver, we’ve looked at WR this way for a long time. Some guys are bigger possession type guys that you are more comfortable sending over the middle, some guys you use differently. You can draft Bryce and not have him “go over the middle” as much. He’s got great awareness and senses blind side pressure really well, you couple that with how you game plan, make sure he’s not running too much, etc. I think it’s easier to protect him (and make sure he’s sliding and protecting himself as well), coupled with his elite pocket presence and slipperiness, than it is to try to train another guy to throw with the anticipation that Bryce does for example. -
I still like Young, but if the team feels Stroud is the better option I have no reason to say they’re wrong. 99% it’s one of those 2, but I clicked Levis on the poll just because.
-
Yeah, this is probably the part where the business and marketing side is most at play, not the ridiculous notion that we would draft a QB #1 overall based on short term jersey sales. It benefits all involved to dangle this carrot of who will be the #1 pick as long as possible.
-
AR has come out and stated himself that it was done on purpose because Levis did it. None of this guy’s points are any good and basically have nothing to do with real football, or reality in general for that matter. Anytime somebody just throws out the statement that Richardson has “the highest ceiling” as if it is consensus truth, you know they are talking out of their ass. People act like you can just take any athlete and turn them into Peyton Manning in Cam Newton’s body. As if the only determining factor in being an elite passer and processor is coaching. It’s just not reality.

I think we need every huddler to make their own thread stating why they think which QB will be the pick.

April 27 feels so far away.

Can somebody explain how a company like Nike takes 11 fugging years to get a color match when I can go to Home Depot and color match like any paint color ever in 5 minutes?
