BPA is almost always going to be defense because other franchises appropriately weight offense over defense. That is how the rules are set up now. The reason we can’t find any consistency as a franchise is because we have been heavily weighted toward defense from the coaching staff down since our inception, outside of a small period with Seifert (not saying I like Seifert). Look at the consistent teams across the league, it is about the QB and offense. Great defenses get you a year or 2 of competitiveness. You see a SF, a Denver, etc. in the super bowl here and there, but are they ever back the next year?

Matt Rhule on Jaycee Horn - Why he is the best fit
WUnderhill replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I really hate reactionary draft picks. Like just make your damn team the best it can be and make other teams react to you. -
Parsons is a very Cowboys pick.

Glad I’m not watching that political shilling.

Not this time. Bears first next year is a good bet to be decently high.
-
Can you blame him? He got a kings ransom. The Bears first next year that he got will likely be in the top half, I’d bet top 10.

Bears have to be over the moon

Well I guess that’s why nobody was trying to move ahead of Denver for a QB
-
Low impact pick for #8 overall. Shocked nobody offered a decent package to get ahead of Denver for a QB.

Boooooooooooooo

Ahahaaa commercial break right as our pick comes in. You can’t make this poo up! Fug this poo how many years I a row before we boycott?
-
Are they going to keep the tradition of commercial break during our pick alive? It’s looking like it.

Falcons spend yet another first round pick on a WR

There’s the shakeup. May take ATL out of drafting a QB. I don’t see anybody trading up for Mac Jones. If our FO was as enamored with Mac Jones as rumored, they may just get their guy.

Is it just me or does Zach Wilson look like Jimmy Clausen?

Please no leaks. Keep in mind that it comes out on other sources like Twitter before the actual broadcast.

Patriots "talked" to Falcons about trading for #4 pick (Fields)
WUnderhill replied to TheWiz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Been thinking it for a while. 9ers spread fud to throw Jets off Fields and “leak” that they’re taking Mac Jones. -
Yep. I hated the signing from the start, mostly because I thought he would be an average QB who would make us something like a .500 team and keep us out of the running for one of the top QBs in the draft. Turns out he was worse than that and we still ended up out of the running for one of the top QBs in the draft so we had to trade a 2nd round pick to get Sam Darnold. Teddy Bridgewater was ALWAYS a bad decision, even if it worked out the best it could have and we got who we thought we were getting: just a competent game manager. No hindsight 20/20 bullshit on this one.

Gettleman sure loved him some fat lazy fugs. “Hog mollies”

Are You Really Against Fields or Lance if they fall to #8...
WUnderhill replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wouldn’t be against Fields at all, and I think we would take him if he were there. However, I don’t think he’ll be there and I think the team feels the same. Lance, I’m not so sure. -
Panthers Well Represented at Fields 2nd Pro Day
WUnderhill replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hot take: Fields goes #2 overall to the Jets. A lot of teams blowing smoke to the media trying to get him to drop now we hear the narrative starting to come back around on him. And when did our Darnold trade talk with the Jets start to heat up? Fields’ pro day. -
Teddy only had 2 2nd-half TD passes in 2020, none after Wk 4

The “how dare you make this thread” gate keeping on the huddle is annoying af. -

Tell you what, you give me an example of a QB talented enough to be in consideration for the #1 overall pick who gets selected #3 overall to an absolute dumpster fire of an organization who is more punchline than football team since the butt fumble, becomes the youngest opening day starter in NFL history, goes from one historically bad head coach his rookie season to an even worse coach in year 2 who also makes himself offensive coordinator and doesn’t give him a QB coach, is given the worst offensive personnel in football to work with, and succeeds. I’ll wait. If he’s done it will be more because the Jets ruined him than lack of ability. I’m fine taking a flyer on the young talent and seeing if we can be mutually beneficial to each other.
