I’d trade the Martin twins for a cheese sandwich at this point just so Borrego doesn’t have the choice to start them or give them significant minutes. I’d even trade them for Alonzo Ball, the lesser known 4th Ball brother.

You are kidding yourself if you think they were actually offering something for him and his contract to be a backup QB. They were more likely offering to take him off our hands if the Panthers gave them a 5th rd pick or something like that.

I think you are either overvaluing our assets or undervaluing theirs. The difference in this years draft pick position alone would cost us quite a bit. And I don’t care what the report is about the Texans wanting a defensive player: young, recent, t5 pick QB prospects on rookie contracts hold a lot of value when talking about what a team gets back for trading a franchise QB. Not to mention both the Jets and Dolphins have other good young players of their own they could offer. I think if those teams are serious we would probably have to beat their offers by an extra 1st rd pick or so to match the value of their assets.

I wouldn’t blame them, he just signed a contract a year ago and was happy to take all the signing bonus money, etc. But now to him it’s a trash organization that he wants nothing to do with. Tough spot to be in, if you cave then you tell other players they can do the same thing and you’ve already paid him a huge signing bonus.

Seems like an extremely long shot. The Jets and Dolphins can both offer much more enticing packages that include young QB prospects and higher draft picks. I just don’t see how we get him over those teams.

Hope he’s been working his ass off but nothing can replace the time he’s missed. We’ll see but I won’t hold my breath on him making the final roster much less any sort of significant impact.

I would think you can make a nice pretty stat for almost every NFL QB with a clean pocket.

He looked promising before injuries. I think the huddle opinion of him is at partially based just on him being a Hurney second round pick, and not entirely objective. No reason to count him out entirely at this point in his career.

Hornets “legend” played 2 seasons and forced a trade. Why we celebrating this guy? Just a step above Kobe as a “Hornets legend”.

Can you imagine if we had a former MVP QB on a cheap one year contract to just see if he could still be a franchise QB and then move on with a high draft pick if he couldn’t. Maybe if we had something like that we wouldn’t have been forced to sign a bridge QB for 3 years.

Can’t be true. I’ve been convinced that the only reason Bieniemy hasn’t been hired as a head coach is because he is black. David Culley being black and getting hired over Bieniemy completely refutes that. So this must be incorrect and Eric Bieniemy must be the actual new Texans head coach.

When you have 2 players who are bad defensively, but one player is clearly better in all other aspects of the game, it doesn’t make much sense to say the better player doesn’t start because of his defense. Besides that, it also assumes he is a worse defender than Graham, but is he? Graham’s DBPM is -1, Lamelo’s is 0.9. So Lamelo is actually better.

This is only a valid argument if Graham’s defense is good, which it isn’t. Lamelo has 3 double doubles and 1 triple double, Graham has just 2 double doubles. Lamelo does that in 10 minutes less per game sharing floor time with the Martin twins while Graham gets the bulk of his minutes with Hayward. Lamelo scores more per 40, rebounds more per 40, assists more per 40. Lamelo 6.3% higher FG%. Devontae 2.4% better from 3. In PER Lamelo is above league average at 16.08 Graham is well below league average at just 12.6. Even last year, which may be the best year he will ever have, Graham was only a 15.82 PER. And yet, Lamelo gets 10 minutes less per game. There’s nothing to argue at this point, it’s clear as day. Borrego had a real easy opportunity to move Lamelo into the starting lineup and nobody would have faulted him, even Graham. Graham plays like crap all season, Lamelo becomes youngest in history with a triple double, easy move into the starting lineup and you can stick by your “earning it” philosophy and everybody’s happy and you’ve made the right decision. Instead, he botched it. He cut Lamelo’s minutes, and I think he may be starting to lose some of the young guys now because they see it doesn’t matter what they do or how shitty the guy is in front of them, they are trapped in whatever hole the coach has put them in.

Unfortunately, this angry parent has a big platform. He also is echoing what many others (both fans and media) are saying at this point. If you draft this kid and plan to fug around like this, you are inviting a poo storm. Not sure wtf Borrego is thinking.
