It’s hilarious all the arm chair gms pretending they know what was offered for whom and stuck on Scoot’s 2022 draft hype before he lollygagged through a whole g league season. Well, not quite a whole season since he decided it wasn’t important to play all the games.
-
Seems like such a bad trade for the Warriors unless there’s some detail I’m missing.
-
That wasn’t the Panthers though.
-
You realize Hayward would likely be part of such a trade right? Might want to google how NBA trades have to match salaries.
-
I keep seeing that Scoot has some sort of extra drive, lives in the gym, loves the grind, however you want to characterize it. However, 2 stats that are practice/repetition stats for a 6’2 PG: 3pt% and ft%, he’s way below baseline. And he doesn’t have the excuse of being in school and having to split his time going to classes. It doesn’t add up to me. Now, go watch that vid of Miller swishing 3 after 3. That doesn’t happen without long hours my dudes. He’s a natural shooter who also works on his craft, you can just tell.

That’s the one thing with Zion I would hope the FO would be able to have some more inside info to answer before making a decision would be how much is his head and his heart, and how much is his body. If his head and heart are in it, the upside is worth the gamble, if not, then it’s not worth it.
-
Dude, he shot 27% on 2.7 attempts per game, 76% free throw on just 3 attempts per game, and had just a 2/1 asst/to ratio. He was -2 overall. If that’s how he plays on a bad team, that’s what we should expect because the Hornets are a bad team with a bad coach. People are so stuck on his fall 2022 draft hype. And yeah, you aren’t educating anybody on Zion, hence why I said “gamble”. Also why I mentioned getting another draft pick to mitigate some of that risk. But go on.

Rather gamble on Zion and try to get an extra pick than draft Scoot tbh. I just don’t see how a 6’2 slasher that shoots sub 30% from 3 and can’t defend is the franchise changer we need with the #2 pick. Sucks if we have to pass on Miller because of character poo. A 6’9 wing who can stroke it from 3 and likes to defend. Just the Hornets luck that he’s got off-court poo because he is every bit worthy of the #2 pick on the court. Looks like a combination of Klay Thompson and Paul George. Damn.

Not sure I want a WR who wants a voice in playcalling right now.
-
So all Scoot has to do to buck the trend is become the single greatest shooter of all time and single handedly change the way the game is played.
-
Pumpkin patch Mahomes would be a great nickname.

Meanwhile, in Houston, Stroud is still splitting reps and in “open competition” with Davis Mills. So glad we didn’t hire another defensive HC.

Exclusive first look at Panthers updated jerseys

Wish we would just lean into the black more instead of all this inconsistency with the blue. Our mascot is literally a black cat. -
I knew that would go over somebody’s head, chill. It was a joke in reference to Mitch trading our #13 pick last year for the literal last pick in the first and 4 second round picks, so basically 5 second round picks. If you think my idea was dumb (it is), take it up with Mitch “there’s a limit to how many young players you can bring on a team and expect to make a jump” Kupchak. Clearly the most prudent thing to do is trade a quarter for five pennies because we have so much incredible young talent on this roster. I just want Mitch taking way more heat for this.
-
You don’t hear reports of teams trying to trade up for Wembanyama either. May just mean that the #3 pick is more available than #2.
-
No way. Ingram wouldn’t even see the court with our roster. Much rather throw in some more picks. Something like #2 for #14 and a few second round picks. Mitch would do that trade in a heartbeat.

Butler’s averaging 27pts, 6.6rbs, 5.9ast for the playoffs.
-
Lol dude is averaging like 5ppg in the finals. Teams weren’t guarding him. I guess that’s an improvement over the playoffs last year when teams weren’t guarding him and he was still poo. Credit to Spoelstra and Jimmy Butler for carrying the sisters of the poor to the finals

UNC missed the tourney under Roy Williams at least once, maybe a couple times. And that’s one of the top college coaches of all time.

At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?

People love to talk about 2-3 years. It’s not a universal law. I think we’ll be able to tell pretty quickly. -
Praise for one of the free agent signings

So is he going to be our starting 3-4 nose tackle? Isn’t he a bit small for it? That’s my main concern going into the season, it doesn’t seem like we have the right pieces for a 3-4 DL. -

Despite what some on this board will say, we got a consensus #1 overall QB in a trade up. That just doesn’t happen. And to move up 8 spots for him and only give up what we gave up is a huge win. -
That wasn’t during a game. You can find all sorts of reports of guys doing things at pro days, practice, whatever. Baker Mayfield’s 70.5 yard attempt during an actual game was the longest in history. So unless we’re concerned with how far they can throw in shorts with no defense, it’s probably not worth mentioning the unrecorded fables of NFL lore such as Cunningham’s 76 or Mahomes throwing out of Arrowhead stadium or Uncle Rico throwing it over the mountains.
-
Well considering the longest throw in NFL history was Baker Mayfield’s 70.5yd Hail Mary that wasn’t even a completion, I’d say it is literally not a thing.
