  1. He wasn’t talking about anything political. He was talking to you about Bryce Young’s arm strength. Are we to take this to mean dissenting opinions on Bryce Young have to be made in the tinderbox?
  2. I’d just ignore him he’s been anti Bryce since before the draft and is deeply invested in looking like the smartest person in the room. There’s just too many CJ Stroud fans here who care more about being right than rooting for the starting QB of their supposed favorite football team to succeed. There’s a few around here who would rather take a wait and see approach with Bryce given the dysfunction of the entire organization this past year, but we’re all tired of talking about the same things over and over and nobody is really engaging in conversation on the huddle anymore since it’s been clear that this is a board where only extreme negativity and pessimism toward our favorite football team and it’s starting QB are acceptable. Oh, and “cope” is like his thing that he says to anybody who disagrees with him about anything Bryce related to try to invalidate their opinion and make himself look like the reasonable one.
  3. I finally got around to watching this. One thing that stood out to me was that in all the time they spent talking about the great lineage of linebackers, they never once mentioned Shaq. They talked about how the tradition was passed down from Sam to Dan to Beason and Davis to Luke, and it just seemed to end there in their heads. Shaq played with Luke so he should be a part of that tradition, but they didn’t seem to view it that way. Also all the talk about player led teams and great locker room culture had me torn. On the one hand, it’s great to hear, but on the other hand it never translated to consistent success. We’ve had great seasons, but we clearly need more than attitude and comaraderie to sustain the success season after season.
  4. Wait, I thought you were boycotting, not renewing PSLs, etc. because Tepper hired Morgan?
  5. In the past I would have agreed. Unfortunately, the league has incentivized the opposite. The Panthers would be giving up a draft pick to let him move laterally, if they believe he could get a HC job next cycle. If these teams aren’t starting the conversation with trading a draft pick for him, Tepper should absolutely tell them to kick rocks. We should not be bending over backwards to allow other teams to poach our coaches with no compensation. And like I said previously, if Evero is a professional and a leader it will have no effect on his performance. It’s honestly such a weird culture that people think the idea of working somewhere you don’t want to for a year is this crazy thing. People do great jobs all the time in positions they don’t want. And if Evero wants out badly enough, there are absolutely terms in his contract for breach and he can accept whatever those consequences are and breach his contract. Just like the team is accepting the consequences of paying 3 head coaches right now for breaching the past 2 contracts.
  6. So is this ranking the coaches or the team resources? Seems like different things. I won’t pretend to know enough about the other guys to rank them, but I’m cautiously optimistic about Canales. I’d rather him than Macdonald because even when the defensive guys hit on the right OC’s they always lose them to HC opportunities. Don’t know anything about Callahan. Morris already failed once as a HC. And the other guys weren’t in play for us.
  7. I understand your preference for one party over the other is shaping your language. The only way he can interview for DC positions is if the Panthers agree to ignore or breach the contracts and rules. Those are already in place. It would be more accurate to say he blocked himself by signing his contract. You want to present it as if the Panthers/Tepper are taking some sort of action to prevent Evero from interviewing. They are not. He is not allowed to interview per NFL rules and because of the contract he himself signed. The team doesn’t have to do anything to prevent him from interviewing. They are simply honoring the contract and the NFL rules.
  8. I mentioned literally page 1 and there’s already a whole thread about it lol.
  9. How so? He rode Kyle Shanahan’s coattails to that super bowl run. His record without Shanahan as OC is 24-29
  10. Candles talking about Evero as if he plans for him to be the DC. Sounds like he’s staying.
  11. Well Dan Morgan definitely leaning on the member berries.
  12. I don’t know whether I’m reading too much into it, but when he said his kids lend him to coaching for 6 months out of the year I got worried. Only 6 months? Hope this guy ain’t vacationing on bye weeks like Rhule.
  13. He’s not blocking him. The standard is that teams aren’t allowed to unilaterally interview and hire coaches under contract with other teams for lateral positions or demotions. If Evero wants to breach his contract, then he can. The contract will have very clear terms laid out for breach by either party and what the penalties are. Evero signed the contract of his own free will.
  14. Well too fugging bad. If he’s this great professional and man with HC written all over him like everybody keeps saying, then he’ll man up and do his job to the best of his ability so that he can get a HC job next cycle.
  15. Getting a crisp route runner is super important for an anticipation thrower like Young. We need guys that can get to the right spot, on time, consistently. Right now it seems like we have either guys who run good routes but take forever to get there (Thielen), or guys that have enough speed but crappy route running (Chark), or both slow and bad route running (Mingo).
  16. It was a flawed and ultimately meaningless poll that people still used as a way to complain about Tabor being fired.
  17. That’s fine if true, but he needs to stop wasting everybody’s time with the interviews tbh.
  18. Big shout out to all the chicken littles who threw a tantrum about not waiting on Ben Johnson hand and foot.
  19. We had I think 5 first round picks on defense this past year, 3 top 10. That side of the ball can get fugged. We had 2 first round picks on offense. We have over invested in defense relative to offense for a long time. We have to know this year whether Bryce is going to be the guy moving forward and that starts with protecting the QB. WR and OL should be top priority in FA. If the offense is competent, the games become watchable again.
  20. I think we need to sign the best OL we can in free agency. Whether it be guard, center, or tackle. Preferably two. And we need to keep drafting OL on top of that.
  21. Great and necessary thread. Can’t wait to see it again next year.
