Nah he rather just poo posts and act tough.

Fug, we lost Lock? Somebody put Linville on suicide watch.

Serious question: is SpecialJuan a bot? I mean, I know he’s not fully, that would at least explain why the tweets never get embedded.
-
I’m sure they learned their lesson.
-
Ok so if I’m understanding this, Evero is calling the shots if it’s a signing, and he’s getting completely blindsided if it’s a trade or a guy signs elsewhere?

Posting tweets = Insider on the Huddle Not that I don’t appreciate the updates.

REPORT: Panthers in the running for Patrick Queen
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, historically, they can’t. See: Chandler Zavala, Edmund Kugbila, Amini Silatolu, Cade Mays, etc. Heck, even our successes are just kind of meh and short lived like Trai Turner. My point isn’t that we shouldn’t draft guards, it’s that we shouldn’t rely on only the draft. We should absolutely draft OL depth this year, but relying on only drafted guys to come in and fix a line this bad, especially mid round guys, is stupid. We needed week 1 starters, not guys coming out of college and still learning because nobody runs NFL offenses in college anymore. -
REPORT: Chase Young visiting Panthers
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I don’t follow him but I was under the impression he was basically the definition of a talented guy who didn’t have that “dawg” in him. -
I really hope so, tbh. I have no doubt the OL as a whole will be better than last year. My main problem with Ickey (besides getting beat like a drum) was his attitude. He came off as a guy that thought he had made it and could just coast. Didn’t seem to have that dawg in him that Morgan talks about. That and an OL guy (I think maybe Mike Wahle) pointed out that it didn’t look like Ickey was working on his craft in the off-season because the things you get from repetition like footwork hadn’t improved for him. Hopefully this past season was a wake up call.

How’d that work out for us this past season? -
REPORT: Panthers in the running for Patrick Queen
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep, Bryce Young is 5’8, we definitely didn’t need to upgrade the OL, Luvu begged to stay, Queen offered to play here for league minimum, other teams offered first round picks for Brian Burns but Morgan wanted Burns to get his preferred contract so he sold him for less, YGM and Smith-Marsette will be all pros this year, the list goes on. I saw you post recently that you were just looking for a reason to stop being a fan. Serious question, what’s stopping you? You complain about literally everything all the time and turn every single thing into a reason to talk negatively about one specific player on the team. You’re clearly miserable and you said you don’t want to be a fan anymore. Soooooo…don’t. -
REPORT: Panthers in the running for Patrick Queen
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ah, the yearly huddle ritual of complaining and blaming the team any time they don’t sign a free agent we like, as if the Panthers are the only party with any say in the decision. What if the amount it would have taken Queen to sign here was $20m/season. How would you feel then? Would you be happy if the Panthers signed him to that contract? -
BREAKING: Giants looking to trade for Brian Burns
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wow they actually posted that bs tweet on network tv? That is so beyond sketchy. How do you count Burns as a one year rental, so you acknowledge he’s no longer part of the team, without counting the compensation the team got in return for him? Not to mention counting the trade that did not happen. Disingenuous at best. It looks bad enough without sketchballs skewing it to make it look worse. If you are a Panthers fan on Twitter you should be calling this out, not going along with this bs. Our fans love to be the woe is me whipping boys though so media will continue to do it. This thread is a prime example. What’s your safe word when you’re subbing for Big Bertha ladies?- 543 replies

I’m not so sure. We may start seeing it now that they have incentivized it for certain demographics. Not that we’ll ever know since it won’t be public information.

Lol Horn. -
The best man will get the job. They have way more invested in Bryce than Ickey. They aren’t going to risk Bryce’s development to go with a suboptimal OL. The Ickey who showed up last year wouldn’t beat a lot of guys out so we’ll see.
-
I actually think he was worse than his stats suggest. For pressure stats they only give the pressure to the lineman who’s man created the “initial pressure”. Edge rushers have more ground to cover to get to the QB than interior DL. The guards and center were so bad that Ickey simply did not get credited with nearly as many pressures as he actually gave up. I know this for a fact because there was one game somebody posted the OL grades with pressures and they only credited Ickey with like 2 pressures. When I saw that I thought it was really strange having watched the game and noted many more than 2 times Ickey whiffing on blocks or getting put on skates and giving up immediate pressure. So I went back and watched the offensive snaps and on the first drive alone Ickey gave up more than 2 pressures. It was just that there were so many jailbreaks where Bryce had 2 guys in his face and Ickeys man breathing down his neck off the edge that somebody else got credited with giving up the pressure and they only give it to one guy per play.

I was really just playing off the “Corbett to Center” thread title but ok. I didn’t put anything like “Official” or “Breaking” in the thread title. The thread is about Ickey potentially moving to the bench…I create so few threads around here and you think I’m in it for clickbait lol.
-
Yeah I seriously doubt he is our plan A at center. He’ll end up a backup along the interior after we add a center in FA or the draft.
-
Probably should start wrapping our heads around this possibility. Hunt is the instant starter at RG. Lewis at LG has been the definition of a league average starter over his career ranking 32nd in pass block win rate among guards. I would not be surprised at all of Christensen beats out Ickey for the starting LT spot in Canales’ wide zone scheme, and I think Lewis would beat him out at LG. And we may still add more OL depth. It wouldn’t take much to beat out the Ickey we saw last year. Especially if he sits on his ass all off-season like last year and doesn’t improve.

Sorry, Morgan’s responsibility is not to take it up the rear to let other teams have coaches that are under contract here. His responsibility is to the team and the fans. You want him to give you the fan a big middle finger and just let a coach that people seem to want here walk for nothing? Are you a Panther fan or an Evero fan? This is such a dumb thread. Also, feel free to place some blame on discriminatory policies which would allow the Panthers to collect a compensatory draft pick if they keep Evero for another year and he takes a promotion elsewhere.

And counting Burns as a one year rental but not including the compensation we got for actually trading him. -
The reason they were cut and not traded is because they weren’t worth what they were making. Why would a team trade a 7th round pick to take on a bad contract like Bozeman’s? I’m not sure I understand why you would think Morgan would cut guys if he could trade them instead.
