Or isnt fired at all and he doesnt want to take more heat.
-
You aint wrong here. Fitts problem isnt necessarily that hes a bad scout. Its that his personal philosophy on what makes a player a good prospect is atrocious. He values RAS scores way too highly, and doesnt draft enough football players. I can understand why Tepper may be fooled by this approach though, so we need to brace ourselves for him sticking around a bit. I dont think he will be fired this year.

We absolutely need to keep Brown over Burns if we are forced to choose. I also agree that Luvu needs to be brought back as well. We need to start drafting actual 1 Tech DL now that have some pass rushing ability. The secondary seems very difficult to determine. After this season no one should expect Horn to ever be healthy which makes DJax our CB1 which he just isnt quite good enough to do. I think hes a fine CB2. We need to prioritize IOL, IDL, CB and WR next draft. Probably WR and IOL first id say.

RB Coach Duce Staley and QB Coach Josh McCown fired
Daeavorn replied to jamos14's topic in Carolina Panthers
I see this as a good thing. Young has been regressing, badly, so of course McCown gets the axe. Im more concerned with Reich in that he didnt see as big of an issue with this as they did. Staley is most likely just to get some chefs out of the kitchen. -

I'm betting Fitterer stays then. He seems to be Teppers Yes man. -
Honestly Im not that upset about the whole thing. Sometimes the guys you dont expect to do well surprise you the most. At this point I just wanna see Fitterer gone. He clearly sucks at talent evaluation and prioritizes the wrong things in prospects.

If Tabor and Brown can get the offense moving again with Caldwell maybe we have a chance at not giving up the 1OA. Im not sure theres anything to be done though. I am not enough of a football person to understand what happened to the Offensive Line but they all seem like they forgot how to play football collectively.

The Athletic: Panthers Issues, Bryce, Reich, & More (Vid/Audio)
Daeavorn replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
They used that stupid S2 test and convinced themselves that Bryce's intellect, which may be greater than average, makes up for his below average physical attributes. It's pretty impressive how that many experienced football guys all made the same mistake. And as we can see from this video, Bryce's footwork isn't even all that great! I'm not sure he was ready enough to truly start, and I am not sure he can ever be a QB that can carry us to the playoffs or win a super bowl. If the entire team has to be perfect for him to succeed in then he isn't that special. -
He apparently played well this past game according to PFF so maybe he is starting to turn it around.
-
How was this guy an actual QB? It doesnt seem like he really knows anything about offense. This is basic poo he is just continually getting wrong.
-
Eight fuging years ago, same damn issue. This guy clearly doesnt learn from his mistakes.

So Ive been on the panthers subreddit and they had a very interesting post from the chargers subreddit eight years ago. Sound Familiar? "The first problem is that we run a zone blocking scheme. Our guys are not fast enough to do it effectively, not only that, its the exact reason our o-line is getting injured every single fuging game from getting rolled up on and trying to slide to their assignment and getting beat. Our average size on the line is 6'5" 300lbs. We need to let maulers be maulers and run a power scheme. Barksdale and Fluker are fuging huge (6'5" 325) (6'5" 340) why not add Philips or Johnson like you said at the outside and double team edge rushers and allow Gordon to get some space to run? Because that would make too much sense." Reich has always been the issue. Seems like the only reason the Eagles did well is their OL is top tier.

Cowboys only -10.5? Free money for those inclined.
Daeavorn replied to ClawOn's topic in Carolina Panthers
The cowboys love to get memed on and we play them well every time they come up. It sure would be funny if we managed to win this. Still not betting on us tho. -
Huddle reverse jinx, works like a charm. until it doesnt

May as well, what do we have to lose? More losing games? I say give him a chance to make Bryce look good.

Bills run game (and why we're absolutely awful schematically)
Daeavorn replied to lightsout's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes i agree and this is my preference. But if Tepper is pushing the spread offense stuff then... -

We will need multiple drafts to get the personnel to run a spread offense. Good lord if that is the plan we are so boned. -
Article from Franks time with the colts….sounds very familiar
Daeavorn replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
his zone blocking scheme seems to be the thing that both teams have in common. I think thats our culprit more than anything -
Every part of our org sucks. Dunno how we fix it.
-
Of course Bryce prefers shotgun, he can't see over the linemen under center.
-
This is embarassingly awful. Is our scheme really this elementary? Our roster has to be 32nd in talent.
