Pretty sure he would be eligible to be taken by Seattle but every team can protect one goalie without sacrificing a forward or defenseman slot. Right now he is the only goalie under contract beyond this season.

On one hand, I hate it. On the other hand, the Jackets were on the receiving end of a botched call earlier in the season so I can’t get too mad about the Canes getting screwed on this one.
