    Darnold and Mayfield have better teams around them than they ever had here. I still remember the slander they both got. To be fair, I was rather harsh on Mayfield but had you seen his "play", it made sense. Herbert with a red zone interception. And they had it at the one too. Oof.

    Injuries galore and no Jackson. Just realized Saints got their first win today. Gross.

    Both of these offenses are like many others in the league, so much dink and dunk. But they make it work somehow. Their guys can block. Their guys can get open. Even back to the Rhule era, our team can't even run a damn screen without having it blown up.

    The thing I'm noticing with Canales is that he often doesn't actually follow through with what he says. If we can even get a 2nd and short, I fully expect some super long developing pass play with everyone going deep, a great idea when our pass protection is disintegrating every week.

    I was going to type something, but then I realized Tepper is our owner. He's basically the black cat personified. Even if we try to do the right things, something will go wrong.

    After watching the Jets and the Dolphins play, do I have any confidence that we could beat either? ...no. And stop this obsession with other team's QB's. You know we're just going to make them look worse.

    You mean the Steve Wilks revenge game where his defense will smother us to where he gets everyone fired.

    Sounded like a solid speech. Our team then proceeded to give up three more touchdowns for a 21-52 drubbing that day. Just me but I value competence over tough guy talk. Or in Canales's case, fluffy talk.

    I want to know how one gets a zero in pass blocking. Also, my god, what is the deal with our linebackers? Our backups from our past rosters would be better than these guys.

    All I can really say is that Canales is coaching himself out of a job at the rate he's going. It's unacceptable to have this team come out seemingly unprepared.

    Don't want to say that Thielen has basically checked out but jumping to another team right before the season starts, and you're working with a young QB who is effectively a rookie by not playing a whole season, and you're 100% retiring when the season is over? Of course he would've been far more productive with us because he had spent the entire offseason thinking he'd play here.

    Just remember. There was a time when people here were wanting to give Darnold franchise money after a few games with us. Yeah, he can look great at times. But like the Vikings learned, he will eventually regress and when he does, it doesn't look pretty. Still wanted to keep him back then with a more affordable deal, but I don't make the calls around here.

    Give him enough time and he'll be bad Sam Darnold. Not looking good: Harrison Jr. Can't be juggling the ball like that.
