  1. Good grief. Herbert went full Teddy mode throwing it short of the sticks.
  2. Collins giveth and taketh away.
  3. Chargers Chargering through the first half of a playoff game? Say it ain't so!
  4. Neither QB is having a fun time with their (lack of) protection.
  5. Herbert thinks he's Mahomes and can get away with those type of throws.
  6. Chargers could've easily been up 14-0 if their receivers could actually catch.
  7. Putting the ball twice on the ground isn't exactly settling down. Very lucky they kept the ball both times.
  8. Hmm, this game could get out of hand for Texas if they're not careful.
  9. Matters more if the team believes in him than what people here think. They are saying he's their guy, which means continuing with the type of moves we did last offseason to get more out of him. Higher expectations for Bryce requires higher expectations of the organization.
  10. Oh, that mistake made by the Browns just got even worse. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/deshaun-watson-could-miss-all-of-2025-after-rupturing-his-achilles-again And let's not forget this could've easily been us. Tepper wanted him. People on this board wanted him. At least the choices we eventually made is bearing some fruit.
  11. First and maybe fatal turnover for Penn State.
  12. I'd say the only real downside is that this unit can still get manhandled by superior defenses. Not a big need for major improvements, although more depth would be welcome.
  13. I've generally been more of a fan of putting money toward the front seven. Let them disrupt the play before the corners have to get involved. Unfortunately, we're so far away from being in that scenario.
  14. Not from PFF but some other interesting metrics to chew on: This is actually tied to the playcaller and how often they call plays that - in theory - is supposed to make it easier for the offense and how effective they were. I will say that with Canales, this does seem to correlate with how we seem to be putrid running screens. I believe this is how much a QB's overall performance is helped/hurt on plays that is meant to be thrown to a specific player. A rough visualization of pass yards that are more because of how far the QB threw the ball and more on the receiver.
  15. Start Coker! ...I just wanted to say it first around here for once.
  16. That is ultimately the limitation of stats in general. They certainly may say something, but not really the why. For example, I've noticed that the Ravens stats indicate guys being quite open and it certainly looks that way watching some of their games. However, it's really the receivers are that skilled or is it more that you have both Lamar and Henry as scary running threats that forces defenses into defending that threat more at the expense of pass coverage? What about the Lions? Is it the opposite with the Lions? If there's a metric I'm trying to look at for us, it's play action. I just get the impression we really don't utilize it enough - Olsen specifically mentioned this about us during the Cowboys game - and that's not helping our receivers get a little more separation.
  17. Oh, I'm sure we definitely won't see that being a problem a year or two from now.
  18. Moving on would’ve been trading him when we had the chance like we did with Diontae. I mean, this is the same organization that dumped Mayfield to the street midseason for playing poorly. Yes, Dalton getting in a car accident may end up being that dumb luck moment, but given our recent history, I'll give them a bit of credit for not taking the expected exit ramp of giving him to someone else for the last best offer we probably would've gotten. At least at the time, that move would not have surprised me.
  19. I'd rather Young work to better his game than his press conferences. Given that he put the work and effort in to reestablish himself as the starter, I'm not overly concerned he's not going to give it his best shot. I feel that the ball giveaway is something this team has to earn by playing a lot better.
  20. As long as Tremble isn't asking for too much money, he can stay. Maybe it was just my eyes but it looked like Sanders was asked to make a fair amount of blocks, something I believe was something he didn't really do in college. I'm hoping this is bona fide proof we are done with Ian Thomas. When Morgan had his end of season presser, he said they had a plan to eventually get Bryce back on the field this season. Took the media there by complete surprise because Morgan thought Canales has already told them about this.
  21. At this juncture, I'm leery of bringing in any more Uglies over 30. Too much money and risk of injuries is a lot higher. I have some issues with Mays and I would really like to strengthen the interior but I feel any potential alternative should be via the draft. That said, I would prioritize drafting an eventual replacement for Moton over a center.
  22. Stumbled into this about a name that might start floating around in regards to vacancies: Brian Flores. As per usual, grain of salt but this might've been the first time I heard this about Flores when he was with the Dolphins and it's not exactly positive. https://x.com/uSTADIUM/status/1876792118703751666?t=2eZoEjB0X8bkJBJ1hrNnWA&s=19
