  1. Unfortunately, it's Jeff Saturday as the #1 seed versus a bunch of "Where are they from?" State.
  2. Aaron Rodgers was expecting to be drafted early but ended up falling right into the Packers lap. Lamar Jackson went to the Ravens late. After the whole Manning/Rivers draft drama, Steelers still got Big Ben with the 11th pick. Obviously, the team needs to do their homework on all prospects but there's always that risk of grabbing someone for the sake of doing it. There has to be contingencies of grabbing someone else without giving up everything, especially with our current draft position.
  3. Nothing. Don't like the prospect of a bidding war with other teams.
  4. At least in my eyes, this isn't a case of someone being looked over for a person that is far less qualified. Hypothetically, if this was years ago between Wilks and Rhule, then a lot more questions should be raised if Rhule was chosen. However, Reich had his own set of qualifications, including also having a special connection with this franchise, being a person that players seem to love and respect and, in my eyes, a better offensive coach than Wilks was as a defensive coach. Wilks As for the exec team, my impression is that Tepper made decisions similar to he would do with his other enterprises without fully realizing that an NFL franchise is a whole different animal. Still don't think highly of him but for everyone's sake, I hope he has learned his lessons.
  5. My general takeaway is a more no-nonsense, sensible, logical approach than what we had before. Whether things work out is up in the air but given there is a special connection between Reich and this franchise, I don't have any doubts about the effort.
  6. The same reason so many people make it to places they clearly do not belong; selling horse manure. Still cannot comprehend how owners continue to think hiring a college coach who doesn't already have a fair amount of experience in the league is a good idea. The closest analogy I can think of is a dirt racing driver trying to go into NASCAR. Yes, you drive a vehicle regardless but the dynamics are so much different that most of the skills don't translate.
  7. Could we even call Rhule a CEO, though? I mean, he seemed to micromanage the wrong things, spouted a bunch of fluff, threw people under the bus and was grossly overpaid. ...oh, wait.
  8. Brissett was the only other FA alternative to Darnold that I felt was an actual viable upgrade but was concerned about being a much more expensive option. Would be nice if having Reich here means the price tag is less.
  9. Yeah, I couldn't recall if there was any motivation other than the obvious. It's one of those what-ifs alongside whether a non-Tommy John Jake would've avoided that one game. I think we could've reached the SB but lose to the Steelers because holy moley, we can never beat the Steelers.
  10. Almost a no brainer but a new HC could've easily brought in their own people regardless. A sigh of relief for a rational sensible move.
  11. Another one: I can't recall why Moose went to Chicago for a few years but I'm still a bit miffed that he did. Could've had at least one more SB run but no, we had to suffer with Keary Colbert and over the hill Keyshawn Johnson. By the time he came back, Jake had the Tommy John and wasn't the same anymore.
  12. Well, then... 1. For a game winning drive, I'd rather have Delhomme over Newton. 2. Jettisoning Smitty when we did was ultimately the right call. 3. Jeff Davidson was not the worst OC we've had. At least he understood the TE position existed. 4. While I loved Brad Hoover, he was a bit overhyped as an actual player.
  13. The only good thing about that 3rd down was that the game wasn't being played in Cincinnati. Probably another Bottlegate.
  14. Years ago, I would've been excited for this move. Now, I'm not too sure. My hope is that Reich and all his connections will mean building together a great staff.
  15. This is what makes me say no to Wilks, alongside getting absolutely demolished by the Bengals and making Trubisky look like a starting QB. I don't even like the idea of Wilks staying as DC because, frankly, he's just not that good at it. Not sure any other team would want him in that role either.
  16. Most likely a one-sided affair where our defense is a sieve while we get maybe 16 points or so. Still would've been a better showing. ...losing to a crap Bucs team still pisses me off. I really hate PR speak but dayum, son.
  17. Well, at least Maher doesn't have to worry about kicking before the half.
  18. I still don't understand how they overturned that fumble. Have to point out that, again, not to discount defense and run game in the playoffs. Bills look one dimensional today.
  19. Have to call Harbaugh out for Ron Rivera levels of time mismanagement.
  20. And that one blow out was quite compeitive for the first half.
  21. Bengals O-line is giving me bad Panthers O-line flashbacks.
  22. A bit of irony that the Bengals have lost in the playoffs because of critical fumbles and now they might actually win because of one.
  23. HOLY... did that just happen?
  24. New coach, same old Vikings.
  25. If Vikings come back to win, that dropped pass and questionable roughing call are going to be turning points.
