  1. Proven player, not a huge amount of guaranteed money and if Brooks can contribute, then limits wear and tear and lowers risk of injury, so we can get the best out of him. Compared to all the other contracts we've done here and others across the league recently, this seems more of the routine run-of-the-mill variety.
  2. This is likely a loss. Just look at the stats of their last game; 26 pass attempts versus 31 runs. Daboll knows well enough not to put everything on Daniel Jones. They'll likely stick to that ratio and only have Jones throw a safe pass or two along with a scramble. A big factor with the Saints is that we somehow found a way to stop their first two drives from being touchdowns, and even forced a three and out or two. That's going to be really hard to replicate, and regardless of QB, we just lack enough offensive power to get into a shootout, especially with our O-line not at full strength. I kinda expect our line to utter collapse and Canales utterly refusing to not go pass happy against a defense much more suseptible to the run. But hey, I'd like to be proven wrong. Maybe Canales will decide to throw Brooks out there for his debut and we end up with the reincarnation of Double Trouble. If we somehow win, that's my guess on how.
  3. I just find it baffling that the Cowboys would even consider this trade in the first place. All the yapping from Jerry about going "all in" in the offseason and they didn't go after someone like Derrick Henry. Then they play bad football while the Eagles and Commanders are well ahead of them in the NFC East. Finally, they may not have Dak for a good while and so all signs point to no playoff run. So now is the time to make a trade? And for a guy that is unlikely to make an immediate impact and for that much compensation? Jerry Jones "All in" = Jonathan Mingo
  4. We already beat the Cowboys and it's not even December yet.
  5. I was more interested in the overall play schemes than anything else. I think Canales sometimes is trying to be too clever with some of these plays when we don't really have the talent to execute with any consistency, especially with the QB carousel, trading away Diontae, the O-line injuries, and the fact our defense all but guarantees a blowout if we don't score on every drive. That said, there is potential there. If that defender on that play Legette got blown up on was rubbed even a little, there was a lot of green grass ahead.
  6. Mayfield knew it was over when they lost the coin toss.
  7. Bucs not going for two against Mahomes who has all three timeouts? What are they thinking?
  8. All that was missing is the injury music from Tecmo Super Bowl.
  9. Oh, dayum. Mahomes limping off the field.
  10. I won't pretend to believe we can perform like this every week. Might not do that again this season. Our roster is in tatters and the Saints are really bad. But still, the rookies played a big role in this win, BY and the defense gained some confidence, and it was good experience for Canales and staff on how to handle a game that remains close all the way throughout. The wins last season were predominantly carried by the defense. Raiders win was a lot on the offense. We kinda needed everyone for this one and despite every statistic saying we should've lost, we won anyways. Also, it was against the Saints. You never turn down a W against the Saints.
  11. McCarthy's December just got a lot more interesting.
  12. Jones got his contract extension after a season with Daboll as HC. As such, I see Jones as Daboll's QB even though Jones was drafted under a different regime. Moreso, it seems that Jones getting dumped is viable enough cap-wise for NY after this season. Getting rid of both Jones and Daboll and letting a new HC pick their own QB makes more sense. Daboll does seem smart enough to stick with the ground game and limit using Jones, so he's more likely to be spared the indignity. Then again, Jones may give us an assist and throw right to Horn for a pick six or something.
  13. This might mean the Saints will scrap up a few meaningless wins now with their interim HC and move down the draft order. Also, this means I'd be a little nervous right now if I was Brian Daboll.
  14. OMG Richardson yawning from the sidelines.
  15. Really fell apart 5th game with us against the Eagles after getting roughed up by the Cowboys the game prior, so yes.
  16. Remember when Darnold played lights out for us before he fell off? Wonder if that's starting to happen now with the Vikings.
  17. Rams make the Seahwaks pay for that 4th down gamble in OT. To think the Cardinals lead the NFC West.
  18. Geno with another red zone pick. Oy!
  19. Bryce or Dalton is more of a toss up at this point. What may tilt it in Bryce's favor is maintaining some semblance of consistency within the offense and that Dalton may not even have one good game left in him.
  20. How nice of our team that we didn't leave the Saints as a whole out in terms of earning an inglorious record today.
  21. On the one hand, this win ruins our draft board. On the other hand, this is utterly humiliating to the Saints and to Derek Carr, loser to 31 NFL teams. Worth it.
  22. Dunno if last night was more of an abberation but if the Texans have that type of pass protection going forward, Stroud's either going to start seeing ghosts like Darnold or he's going to get a serious injury. Side note: That TD catch from Wilson was utterly ridiculous.
