  1. It's hard to judge Wilks on one game alone. Also unfair to judge on the resuls because frankly, there's barely anything on offense to work with and our defense was depleted. However, we can judge Wilks for his decision making and I was not impressed today. As others pointed out, to not use any of those timeouts at the end of the half was unacceptable. So what if the offense had been putrid up to that point? There could've beena a PI on a deep pass attempt, CMC breaking a long run, and so on. Give your players a chance to do something but instead, Wilks basically said he doesn't trust his players at all. Again, not discounting Wilks yet but if today's an indication of what he can offer, he's not the guy for the job.
  2. Didn't someone here say Campen is a good coach but inadvertently the kiss of death to whoever the HC is to the team that brought him in? We have a promising group of Uglies although I still feel we need to find Moton's replacement now and not as keen with our center situation. Even if we just had a Delhomme level of QB, we'd be in much better shape.
  3. I'm not as hopeful but in terms of circumstances for a debut victory for Wilks, there is enough there. We've stayed in games the first half and frankly, the Rams are just not that good. Even a loss but where the offense shows signs of competence is a step in the right direction. If we get our doors blown off early, though, yikes.
  4. Frankly, all I see regarding Fields is a whole lot of excuse making from everyone. His mechanics look horrid and he misses way too many easy throws. He might find a niche but he's going to have to find it on another team.
  5. What a fitting way to end that game.
  6. Former Panthers players have disappointed tonight.
  7. A man ran into the end zone with the football!
  8. A man just caught the ball in the endzone! Wow!
  9. And to continue the theme of awfulness tonight, whatever that attempt at comedy was.
  10. Maybe they don't consider guys under center for the Bears over the past few decades as actual quarterbacks.
  11. There are points. I thought that wasn't allowed.
  12. We all know it would be Ron's dream to win this game 3-0.

  14. Dammit, Mayfie... oh, sorry.
  15. And let's never forget that Quinn was fired after losing to us truly. You'd think wanting to hire the guy who lost his job right after losing to the guy you just fired would be a terrible idea.
  16. Fair enough. I suppose this hypothetical sets up Moore to be next in line when Quinn is hypothetically fired. I presume any Quinn (or any other coach) hypothetical would mean a new DC as well.
  17. We could go to Dan Quinn hypothetical #999 and I still wouldn't like it.
  18. Hearing anyone other than Rhule is a breath of fresh air. Of course, whatever Wilks says isn't as relevant as he actually does.
  19. All I can say is that any realistic chance of being more than an interim rests on the defensive side of the ball. Thing is that he has to work with the pieces we currently have rather than cram in a philosophy that doesn't fit because that's asking too much with the season already well underway.
  20. If a Riverboat comes this way, fire the torpedos.
  21. NFL coaches whenever they try to look smart by letting analytics make decisions for them...
  22. A fitting way for the Raiders to lose. Why not run the ball there or QB sneak?

Always have to take PFF with a grain of salt but I had the (dis)pleasure of having the game broadcast in my area. Considering the 49ers defense, pass protection in my eyes was better than expected. Still needs work (Moton may not last much longer) but the trend is in the right direction.
  24. Wouldn't be a big shock if that was the moment Tepper decided he was going to fire Rhule this morning. Simply don't see the rationale of even attempting a 2 point conversion in that scenario, especially with an inept offense that struggles to get into the end zone.
