  1. Seems that Morgan and company really went heavy towards guys good against the run. In other words, targeting our biggest weakness in a league where pounding the rock is back in fashion. At least conceptually, these are sound moves. Really comes down to Evero being able to do something with all these pieces. We'll absolutely improve but by how much is up in the air. Worth noting this should help our offense by simply getting more opportunities to have the ball. Last season, we were the second worst in TOP, not good when it lacked explosive playmakers.
  2. If I had $100 every time a player said they want to go to a contender only to stay for a wad of cash, I'd have more money than Myles Garrett.
  3. Corbett torn rotator cuff lifting pen from paper - out for the season In all seriousness, I hope the numbers makes sense for a guy that only played a handful of games for us so far. Also, please draft a center this draft. This position was in such a precarious position last offseason and in typical Panthers fashion, it blew up in our faces.
  4. Don't really mind this. He does well with the few opportunities he has gotten and it may be a sign Canales is going to get the tight ends more involved next season. Also don't think getting a tight end in the draft is now out of the equation either. He's more like a TE2 and the short deal could be a sign that he's more of a short term solution for the sake of consistency. Most importantly, this likely means Ian Thomas is finally out of here. But I'll believe it when I see it.
  5. Not surprised that often... but this is a surprise.
  6. Really comes down to the contract numbers. That said, I've had Slayton as the more realistic FA receiver we could aim for. He would bring speed which we're desperately lacking, he's been durable, and everything I heard about him says he's a great culture fit and mentor. Definitely would cover having that veteran presence around once Thielen retires.
  7. I honestly thought there was a chance Dalton was going to retire. Then again, if things go well, he'll be paid a few million to hold a tablet.
  8. Oy, vey! Personally, I find people who feel like they have to elevate themselves by putting others down as losers. There are ways to be blunt and still be respectful, you know.
  9. Going off memory here but I recall a thread similar lo this but with Bill Cowher spotted at the airport. He was more wanted here than Harbaugh, ya know.
  10. A dream until we got trampled by a bunch of horses ridden by zebras.
  11. Superb Bowl was just not that superb. Needed more Panthers. Maybe next time...
  12. I usually don't even listen to the halftime show and so I don't have any real opinion.
  13. That throw is as dumb as all these Superb Owl commercials.
  14. Oh, look. The Superb Owl has started.
  15. Of course the rules changes come in just in time to screw over two Panthers players. Luke not getting in right away, especially, is such a travesty.
  16. Keeping it to football - as I could go on for ages on this otherwise - this is the type of thing that should be a massive PR nightmare for the NFL. However, I would be surprised if there's any actual consequences to the Saints similar to Bountygate.
  17. I have a feeling that without Bryce's resurgence and Coker potentially being his successor, retirement or going elsewhere would've been the more attractive option. Really long shot to give Thielen a shot at a ring like we tried with Jared Allen, but having him back is going to make things easier.
  18. Only video can make that "juke" justice. Actually, with just how awful Hall tackled here, maybe not the best coach out there to show our corners how to tackle. https://youtu.be/y8QSFrwaB2k?si=IscLtwI_uK51B2Vv&t=122
  19. Ah, yes. Jake's last good moment as a Panther by somehow juking Hall for a game-sealing first down. It's almost as though he never saw it coming. Wonder if it's the same with getting the axe.
  20. First off, I'm not a big fan of these hypotheticals. Second, I'm often skeptical of what people say in that type of forum. Far too many saying things because shock value equals attention. Third, a football team is - at minimum - 50+ players plus coaches and all the support staff on and off the field. I personally don’t like this notion as much but the quarterback is usually the face of the franchise, the leader. You give up your body and soul for everyone around you to where individual achievements are secondary if it means you leave the field as the ultimate winner along with everyone else. To this day, I still remember Thomas Davis utterly broken after losing the SB and the man played with a busted arm. You're telling me an MVP award isn't worth giving up if it meant he could've cried tears of joy instead? To give all those kids that special moment in their lives watching a victory parade? To put that cherry on the top for every fan here on that 2015 season instead of us still wondering if we'll ever see the Panthers lifting the Lombardi within our lifetimes? I don't know, man. Maybe it's just how I view leadership as being so much more about those around you than yourself.
  21. Bills choke again. This is why I couldn't enjoy this game. We all knew how this was going to end.
  22. Could be a career-defining drive for Allen if he can engineer a long drive that ends with a TD.
  23. Dang, so close to turning the ball over.
  24. Cannot turn the ball over in the playoffs and win. Just doesn't happen that often. I don't see the Commanders getting out of this hole.
