Other games 11/17, got some good ones today

Steelers win. And this is probably the cherry on top for them... -

Just realized Colts beat the Jets. Gotta give credit to AR for coming back and playing well after getting benched. -

Bears miss the GW field goal! Correction: Blocked! -

I'd say it's about as expected. Close chippy low-scoring game. And is that a pick by the Steelers? -

I'd say it's more that the Rams are a step above the worst teams in the NFL. Unfortunately, there's a lot of teams this year that are bottom dwellers. -

So we have 16 teams playing right now and most are around halftime. At a glance, I see about 11 teams that have only scored 10 points or fewer so far. -

Justin Tucker era may be coming to an end. Two missed field goals in a game? You never see that. -
A great O-line allows plays to happen. A great D-line prevents opponents from getting their plays started. Been my general philosophy which is why I've always advocated putting our money on those closest to the ball, linemen. Don't overcomplicate it. Build the foundation and then watch all the other skill players improve. Personally was never a big fan switching to a 3-4, especially as the league has trended back to more run-heavy offenses. Also, maybe it's just a feeling but I swear we've been generally worse afterwards since the switch. Whatever benefit we were supposed to get leaving behind the 4-3, I don't see it.

Prime WILL NOT Let Shedeur Or Hunter Go To A Sh*tshow Organization
outlaw4 replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, they could go the Eli Manning route and try to get their way to where they want. Personally, far too many red flags. Drafting those two is like taking on a ticking time bomb that will go off at the first sign of trouble. As an aside, clown show organizations... wonder if the Cowboys qualify under their defintion. -
I suppose the one thing you learn being around this long is how all the arguing and bickering all end up sounding the same. Only the names change. For example, all the BY talk here is child's play compared to when Jake Delhomme was our QB. We even had a name for those defending Jake: Blind Delhomme Jock Sniffer (BDJS). And of course the running joke that 3rd and long = draw play every single time. And making fun of David Carr's gloves. And the disdain for drafting Luke even though we already had linebackers at the time. And swinging back on topic, how giving Thomas Davis Sr yet another shot after multiple injuries was a horrible idea. Give TD his due because he proved us all wrong.

Panthers run defense has entered the building.

Yeah, should've gone for the FG when points are hard to come by in this game.

Am I watching Panthers vs Panthers here or something?

We seemingly couldn't figure out how to use Chinn here. We tried keeping Luvu but he chose Washington over us.

Watching it on Twitch on my end because it was further ahead than on Amazon. Well, at least it was last Thursday.

I still remember how thrilled I was when we drafted him. The only blemish in his history here is convincing us to bring in his brother, Matt.

I don't recall if I had a different avatar when I first came here, but I've kept the current one forever, even back in the old Huddle. No real reason other than utter laziness.

Texans are having their own issues protecting their QB this year. In fact, Stroud is right behind Caleb as the most sacked QB so far this year. No surprise, fans want Texans OC Slowik out just like the Bears canned Waldron.

That's always going to happen from time to time. You just can't have that be the norm. I'm still miffed we didn't go for one of the centers last draft because that was a missed opportunity having a rookie getting the benefit of being sandwiched between two guys who know what they're doing. Makes me wonder why Miami didn't try harder in keeping him, especially when they have a QB with concussion issues.

I think it's more of Bryce starting to gain confidence in that the line is no longer the absolute sieve from the interior that it was last year. He can actually follow through on fundamentals without a guy coming right at his face. Makes the tackles look better because their QB isn't drifting back as much. Again, money well spent because interior pressure, regardless of QB, is the most consistent way of sabotaging any NFL offense. Should be obvious but the fastest way of getting to the QB/RB is a straight line. As a painful reminder, double A gap blitz in the Super Bowl.

Here's a far-fetched dream. A few years from now, Thomas Davis Sr. goes up to the podium on draft day and announces that his son is going to be a Panther.

Even if attitude isn't an issue, they better hope he can at least produce on the field soon. Funny enough, he gets a revenge game against the Steelers this week. I still think Diontae being here did provide some value in that, yes, someone like him adds value to this offense in terms of explosive plays. That needs replacing.

I'm just surprised I still remembered it. I've been here way too long.
