  1. The only way this would work at that price is if the Texans restructured to cover a bunch of Watson’s salary, freeing up cap room for us over the next few years to build.
  2. No, I don’t want the trade because I don’t think it will help push us through to contender status. This is mainly because I believe we’d have to give up too much to acquire him and his huge cap number would make it tight to bring in help. Yes, I would still be a fan of the Panthers. I don’t know all the facts of his situation or the outcome of it. Once that’s all out and finished, I may change my mind. I just see it as difficult to change allegiances especially when I primarily root for NC teams and don’t have another option there.
  3. If he’s dropping, it makes me want to trade back even more. If we somehow manage to draft Linderbaum and perhaps Howell in the 2nd with a pick acquired through the trade…..I’ll be good to go.
  4. The most concerning thing about this, imo, is we seem to be setting up to use CMC heavily this year while pairing him with a dud at QB. He's not built for that workload anymore.
  5. Y’all really wouldn’t trade…. -DJ Moore -Sam Darnold -2022 5th round pick for -James Daniels G/C -Connor Williams G -JuJu Smith Schuster WR -Cordarelle Patterson WR/HB -2022 3rd pick According to PFF, those players’ contracts could be afforded with the cap savings from Darnold and Moore trades. We would likely have to pay more than PFF projects to get them to come here, but it’s in the ball park. I’d take that all day.
  6. The weasel left because of the incoming implosion.
  7. Or rotate one of our CBs to safety if we bring back one of Gilmore or Jackson. I think/hope we bring back Gilmore and take the comp pick for Jackson. Horn or Taylor could end up great safeties. Gilmore, Henderson, Bouye, Pride, and one of Horn/Taylor is still a strong CB room.
  8. I never understand when the “not your money” posts come on a message board centered around discussing a team and their transactions. Do you say, “why does it matter - you’re not the coach” when we lose a game? No. I don’t think DJ is worth 20 mil per year. To your last question. 20mil could get us two quality starting guards which we don’t have. That would be a better use imo than paying WR1 money to a guy I’m not sure is a WR1.
  9. Is he worth $20 mil per year in your opinion?
  10. 4.5 mil per for two years it looks like
  11. To be fair, the separation between Moore and Anderson at WR wasn't as evident after the 2020 season. Anderson looked good in 2020. Hopefully he can return to that production, but it's looking like he got paid and didn't go as hard once there was no chemistry with the QBs.
  12. Agreed. I was wanting to let Reddick walk for the comp pick because I thought he would command a $15mil+ price. If we can sign him for around 4 years/$40mil, I'd consider that a good deal.
  13. Ideal scenario: Trade DJ Moore, Sam Darnold, and a 2022 5th round pick to a team (Broncos?) without a QB for a 2022 2nd or 3rd. They get: one year rental at QB and a top 15-25ish WR to build around, plus a 5th round draft pick We get: $29 million in cap space for 2022 and the 2nd or 3rd round pick we gave up. We can use the cap to replace DJ (Smith-Schuster & C. Patterson?) and bring in some linemen. Sign Trubisky for cheap and look for a QB in 2023.
  14. I think we're going to take the comp pick for Reddick. Good thing imo.
  15. Fully embracing the tank in 2022 would be the most exciting to me because it would increase hope for 2023 and beyond. That means letting Reddick and Jackson walk this off-season. Acquiring the two ~3rd through 5th round comp picks in 2023 for losing them. That means riding or dying (mostly dying) with Darnold as the starter for the first half of the year. Try to dump him around the trade deadline to a desperate team if possible. Then move to the rookie we draft or whoever else really. That would make me most excited because the front office would be showing signs of intelligence re: building for the future. We will not compete for a Super Bowl next year so don’t dig the hole deeper making a handcuffed effort to do so.
  16. Does it really matter who we have at QB if Brady is the QB in Tampa? If he's there, free agents will show up. I think he's done though.
  17. I'm very doubtful we sit at #6. Why on earth would we sabotage cap space to give up one of, if not THE, best players in our organization? Why do that when we can just trade back and acquire more picks?
  18. Would love him in the 3rd round. Not excited about him above that and think playing in Kiffin's system helped him tremendously.
  19. Wasn't it a fracture in his foot?
  20. 8-9 wins this year and everyone will be back on board with Rhule’s plan. We’ll see if we get strong enough qb play to get there. Doubtful but depends on who we draft/pick up.
