  1. Those saying he’s not too 10….what’s your reasoning based on or is it just a gut feeling? NFL.com thinks different…. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nfl.com/_amp/nfl-qb-index-end-of-2021-nfl-season-rankings They had Murray ranked #7 after the regular season.
  2. To all those saying they don’t want Murray, where would you rank him talent wise out of current starting QBs? Most wouldn’t have him outside the top 10. If you’re in QB purgatory and can get a top 10 QB, I believe you have to make it happen.
  3. Isn’t it possible we’re not interested in any of their current crop of players? Why waste time if so.
  4. He’s doing what he thinks is best for his program. Trying to drum up interest in Jackson St. That does not mean sending a scout there was in the best interest of the Panthers. If no one there is a target, spend valuable time elsewhere. Jackson St won’t be able to prevent the Panthers from drafting a player in the future.
  5. What decisions since firing Brady have been problematic? Everyone wanted changes and suggested firing Brady. He did and I believe that was the right move. Since then, I’ve been impressed more than disappointed with decisions from our leadership. I like the guys we brought in to coach. I like most of the deals we made in free agency (Ian Thomas being the biggest head scratcher imo). Let’s be as quick to give props over good moves as we are in criticizing the dumb. We messed up at QB. Two years running. That’s the biggest issue but what I like most is we are not complacent and are trying to address it. I’m optimistic at this point in the off-season. A better oline & healthy CMC paired with our young and promising defense may surprise you in 2022.
  6. You think Rhule is the only coach/scout/GM that looked into Pickett’s hand size? After such a big deal was made about it prior to and at the combine? I get critiquing Rhule over passing on a guy like Slater (I still like the Horn pick), but creating issues over nothing just to complain gets old. Everyone has been talking hand size with Pickett.
  7. He thinks he’s going to win a Super Bowl I’m Cleveland. lol Put me in the camp that thinks Watson will have some serious rust early this season. Many QBs have missed nearly a year from injury and returned to play well. There aren’t (m)any to point to that have had the non-football related distractions that likely kept Watson from sharpening his game.
  8. I’d send Darnold + 2023 4th for Jimmy G. More than that and they can keep him. The 49ers would save ~$5-6mil in cap space and acquire what looks like a mid to high 4th round pick in 2023. Panthers would have a legitimate starting caliber QB and not be on the hook beyond next year. We can’t go another year without a starting QB. We would still use the draft this year or next to look for our franchise QB.
  9. I like the Horn pick. We’re a low Slater pff grade in 2022 from no one believing he should’ve been picked over Horn. Especially if Horn had the kind of year we expect.
  10. I agree with this. I think it’s safe to assume Neal, Ekwonu, and Hutch will all be gone by #6. Not saying they’ll be top 3, but somewhere top 5. I could see any of the other prospects falling to us in some scenario for now. Without trading back, I would be happy with any of Neal, Ekwonu, Cross, Hamilton, Hutch, or Thib. We’re guaranteed to have one of them available. Anyone else and I hope we’ve traded down and acquired more picks.
  11. That’s not the type of contract I would’ve liked to see us agree to with Gilmore. Hometown discount or go get your money. That was the play with where we’re at as a franchise. He chose the money and hats off to him.
  12. Give me Sam Howell over both. That drafting Howell also comes with the likelihood of trading down and drafting more help is just a bonus.
  13. I’d say more like we’re on a prom date with a dud of a date and not having a good time, but one of the prettiest (and perhaps sleaziest) girls is giving us the eyes while other guys are chatting her up.
  14. Some of you would complain about taxes after winning the powerball. Safety was a need. We addressed it with a solid young player and for a very manageable price. He’s comparable to djax at his position (probably better) and we got him for $5m per. Be happy.
  15. I’ve been hoping for James Daniels and Connor Williams from the jump. Two young IOL that would quickly bring our line up to NFL average or better for the next 3-5 years. Daniels can also play center. Wouldn’t mind seeing if Vander Esch can produce at MLB either for cheap.
  16. I figured most here knew why it would be good for us. No day 2 picks; need a lot of help; No QB worth #6; Good depth at OL in this draft.
  17. Yea. That’s gotta be it. /s Couldn’t possibly be that one is an All-Pro RB that many analysts declared the best offensive weapon in the NFL at one point. The other is a good player who blends in too much to date. Moore is still young and his best football is likely ahead of him, but let’s not pretend he’s set the world on fire.
  18. I guess I have my doubts if we could even get a 1st rounder for him. Strange the discrepancy between how people view him. I certainly wouldn’t be bummed if he’s a Panther for a long time though.
  19. More value than what? A mid to low 1st round pick?
  20. I was referring to the 2023 WR free agents group. Should be impressive.
  21. So you view DJ Moore as more of a mid to high 1st round value? I’m not sure he’d go for that via trade, but I could see someone give up a mid 1st if they’re desperate enough at WR.
  22. I don’t view Howell as a risky pick at all in the 2nd. I think of all the QBs in this draft, his floor in the NFL is easiest to predict. Even if it’s not Howell and instead another QB in the 2nd, I would prefer to have that QB throwing behind a young and promising OL to CMC/Robby/TMJ/Shi versus Darnold throwing behind our current OL + Cross at LT and the same receiving corp + DJ Moore. If the QB we select with one of our acquired picks shows promise, we could easily afford a top end WR the next year since we have a cheap QB for 3 more years + option year. I’m not saying it would be the best option, but we could then afford to make Davante Adams the highest paid WR like he desires over a 3 year contract. That’s the kind of moves that open up when you have a young QB and OL showing promise.
  23. The QB is Sam Howell or another end 1st/top 2nd round graded QB. Pro Days will shift some up/down, but it’s looking like quite a few QBs will be available in the 2nd out of this crop. Does it really matter who they’re throwing to next year? We’re not competing for a championship next year so build for the future. We will have the money, OL, and potentially a QB to attract WRs next offseason.
  24. I don’t think so. We could potentially land something like this with the haul…. #16 - Linderbaum #19 - Bernhard Raimann or Nakobe Dean #51 - Sam Howell or other 2nd Rd QB or stay put and…. #6 - Charles Cross Keep DJ Moore
  25. Eagles get: #6 - 2022 (1600 value) DJ Moore (??? value; need ~665 value to break even according to the chart which is late 1st round value) Panthers get: #16 -2022 (1000 value) #19 - 2022 (875 value) #51 - 2022 (390 value) Reasons it could work imo… Philly is looking for a WR. I saw someone mention they almost traded for Ridley before his issues came to light. DJ’s contract is expiring soon. The WR free agent market will be packed next year. The Eagles would have #6 and #15 picks this year along with the WR help they need. They could address their big need at edge rusher or safety if one of Hutchinson, Thib, or Hamilton fall to #6. The Panthers would be able to address OL and QB with the acquired 2022 picks.
