  1. Mayfield looking pretty good. Wonder if Fitt might go after him in the off-season.
  2. Thanks! I knew pro bowls played a role, but I’m surprised winning an award like ROY doesn’t.
  3. How much would his 5th year option increase if he won OROY?
  4. I agree. If we truly stick to 'undo-ing' a decision instead of changing a draft pick/trade for someone else, then this is it for me. I don't mind the Darnold trade. It was a gamble. Wish we didn't exercise the 5th year option so early, but I also understand that would have been disastrous if he had played well his first year here. Imagine if CMC doesn't get hurt last year, Darnold continues his first 3 game production and we win 8-9 games. Had we not exercised the 5th year option, we likely would have signed Darnold to a 3-4 year contract worth ~25mil per. Yikes. I also don't mind the Baker trade. For what we gave up, it was worth it at the time. Few expected him to perform as poorly as he did, but it cost us next to nothing. The two biggest blunders, imo, were signing Robbie and resigning Ian Thomas. Robbie was the bigger mistake because it cost us more money and his attitude was a risk.
  5. A quick look at OP’s previous comments shows he didn’t like CMC, DJ Moore, and now Horn. OP - who do you hate in the upcoming draft? That way we can tell Fitt to select them.
  6. Pretty sure if he was told he’d be drafted in the first two rounds, he wouldn’t make the decision to return this early.
  7. Struggled again. Still showed some exciting things for the future. His OL was totally outmatched. His WRs, other than Downs, were totally outmatched. His coaches were totally outmatched.
  8. I’d take this and run. No trade backs. I drafted Mayer a little high, but I doubt we’re picking at #5 anyway. Plus, I drafted PJ Walker’s replacement with our last pick. Ha
  9. Elflein was having a pretty good year before his injury. Bozeman has now taken off with the position. My plan would be: 1) Extend Bozeman 2) Find a trade partner for Elflein. Don't trade unless you can get a 4th or higher for him. Otherwise, he's your backup center. If Elf is traded, we save close 5mil on next year's cap. If Bozeman chooses to go elsewhere, Elf becomes our starting C.
  10. Watched his 2021 highlights and then his game against USC this year. I like him, but most of his passes are touch passes. I rarely saw him fire a bullet. I like him and wouldn’t mind drafting him with our late 2nd or lower.
  11. Steelers are probably ~5 spots higher in power rankings than they would be if unlucky. Broncos have a QB who has one of the worst red zone QBRs ever this year. Also, the “luck chart” should account for injuries to starters. No doubt Javonte going down hurt their results this season.
  12. It's far from the most important, but I don't think it's useless. I think it's further proof that we're close. We have been competitive with a lame duck coach, no QB, and the worst luck in the NFL. We probably jump 5 spots in the rankings for each one of those three that get reversed.
  13. Unpopular opinion: I’d take Richardson with one of our 2nd rounders with the thought being, worst case scenario, he could make a Logan Thomas transition to TE. Can’t be worse than what we have there with his athleticism. Unless his hands are trash which I doubt.
  14. Bryce Young or Stroud with our 2023 1st. Brock Bowers with our 2024 1st. OR Trade back and Michael Mayer with 2023 1st. Drake Maye or Caleb Williams with 2024 1st. I’m dreaming here, but I struggle on which scenario I prefer. Probably the 2nd.
  15. You could be right. Most of us are assuming he looks bad again, but he may win a game or two
  16. What yall gonna do when Sam throws for 300+ and 3 tuddies?
  17. Great. If nothing else, it ensures we only send the Browns a 5th rounder for Mayfield.
  18. I've posted before that I'm a fan of trading back and getting Mayer! Love that idea. Just not with one of the top 5 picks in the draft. I think we can add draft capital and still pick him up somewhere in the #8-10 range. I don't think Mayer is going to blow everyone away at the combine like Kyle Pitts did, and he was drafted #4.
  19. In the scenario I was envisioning, we have pick #3-5 and QBs are taken 1&2. If that's the case, someone will put together a trade package for Anderson or Carter. Then we have to consider taking them or trading back setting up a big move for a QB next year.
  20. If we miss on the top 2 QBs this draft, I think trading back is the right move. Stack picks and draft a Richardson/Duggan/Penix type with one of our 2nd rounders. Let them battle with Corral next year and if the results are terrible, trade the farm for Drake Maye or Caleb Williams.
  21. I think that’s too expensive even if he shows well over the end of the season. The Steelers gave Trubisky 2 years, ~14 million. That would be acceptable imo, and then still draft a QB to develop.
  22. Curious for those still wondering if Mayfield/Darnold can become a starter… If they lead us to a winning record over our last 7 games and look like an average starting QB (best possible scenario), what kind of contract you offering them?
