Re: LBs… I hope NFL draft rooms sleep on James Williams from Miami like mock drafts I’ve seen. Get this guy in the 3rd/4th and put him in Luvu’s role. I don’t know what kind of person he is, but on the field he’s a bully.
-
That’s your version of what’s being implied. Mine is he’s working with a second year QB he’s never worked with before, so he’s going to throw a lot at him to see what he does best. He’s getting to know his new QB. Nothing more, nothing less.
-
You’d rather him tell everyone which route concepts they’re going to emphasize?

More Unnecessary Bluntness w/ Senior Draft Analyst Damian Parson

Agree that we may not be able to get a 3rd, but I’d jump on it if offered. Especially if we’ve already drafted Legette who I view as a similar player but better. -

If we draft Legette with one of our second rounds picks, I’d try to trade Mingo for a 3rd. -

Cool site. I like what it can become in a couple years. The comparisons seemed heavily skewed to 2023-2024 draft prospects. -
WR Draft News/Gossip per The Athletic Pod

I’ve seen plenty of catches from Worthy that aren’t body catches. I’ve seen plenty of explosive plays from Worthy that display his speed. Only concerning thing is size. With that said, I think I’d prefer Legette but it’s close. I’m good with either. -
Yea, a throw leading Mingo there is out of bounds. Mingo should throttle down and prepare to make a sideline catch keeping his feet in bounds. He didn’t, but he was a rookie. It’s not the end of the world as long as he learns from it.

Unnecessary Bluntness: Do Panthers already have a draft crush?
ECHornet replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
This tweet did a great job of capturing my thoughts on Legette: -
Your draft wishes align with mine. Wouldn’t be made at a slight trade down with #33, as long as we get appropriately compensated for it.
-
I don’t see Smitty at all. So many better options should be available. In fact, if both he and Jacob Cowing were both available in the 4th/5th, I’d prefer Cowing.
-
I had to google BC’s height after your post. He’s listed at 6’6. I honestly didn’t realize he was that tall. I think he could be a serviceable replacement for Moton when that time comes.
-
Could BC compete with Corbett at center? Or is he being groomed for RT if Ickey works out?
-
Agreed. That felt like a genuine take backed by experience, but what Steelers fans didn’t experience was our WR room last year. They don’t know how desperate we are for WRs who can get open.
-
What player would you like to see play to their 'potential'?
ECHornet replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hunt, just so I know that contract was worth it. -
I’d go Williams, Boyd, Gallup for my preference of those three. At this point, I’d prefer to wait and see what we, and other teams acquire, in the draft at WR.
-
Good to know. It’s aggravating the Huddle software can’t make it work, but better than nothing I guess.
-
That’s not a terrible throw. It’s Mingo having some of the worst field awareness since Dan Orlovsky was playing QB.
-
Ben Sinnott is our next Wesley Walls

I like the building up of the trenches. I like the idea of giving Dionte a tryout as #1WR. I like that we allowed Evero to get his guys for his defense. I like that we didn’t just reward guys with long term contracts that weren’t helping us win football games.

The Bears finished last in their division in 2023. The goal is to make the playoffs and win a Super Bowl. They will likely surpass the Vikings this year, but I don’t see the playoffs in their immediate future. The Lions and Packers look better and are young. My personal hope is we make the playoffs before they do. We will then remind them of the trade that got us there.

There are just so many X WRs in this draft, it makes signing Williams less necessary. I think Keon Coleman, Adonai Mitchell, Xavier Legette, or even Johnny Wilson could fulfill our need for a bigger WR. Plus, it would be on a rookie contract and someone to grow with our offense.

Enough posts have been made about the embedding issue. It’s a board software issue. Not a Juan issue. It’s happening to many other posters, including myself. He’s not being impatient. He could sit and stare at the link for 10 minutes, it’s not going to embed. As for the signing…I like it. Looks like a bit of an upgrade from V Bell and 3 years younger too.
