  1. I don’t see Chinn approaching a Derwin James-type deal. Likely more in the 12-15 mil average salary by that time. James is currently sitting near 20mil per.
  2. I hope Abanikanda is still there with our first pick in the 4th.
  3. I believe he could, but I don’t see the need unless we’re moving up to select a QB who dropped and we didn’t get one with our first. I like the chances we hit on two starters with those picks. We’ll have the first pick or so in the second anyway.
  4. Some of y’all are losing it. Lobbying against the best QB in the upcoming draft because he ‘might get injured.’ Now complaining when we received significant draft capital for a player who actually has been injured most of the last two years.
  5. This year is weak in the WR free agent class, so we may hold on to DJ.
  6. I’m hoping for one of the Notre Damers in the 2nd. Crossing my fingers either Isaiah Foskey or Michael Mayer are still available. I think Foskey will end up top 15, but Mayer could fall a bit after the combine.
  7. A lot can change between now and then, but if we have #1 and teams are being pansies about drafting Young top 5, I would absolutely trade back. Someone will trade 3 first round picks minimum to move up for Stroud, Levis, or Anderson, and you can still get the best QB in the draft, imo. 49ers traded 3 firsts and a third for Lance. I would take that all day and draft a QB (hopefully Young) with the swapped 1st rd pick. I can think of no better scenario for a team in our position of rebuilding.
  8. Using Neal > Icky and Parsons > Horn as your draft guru proof doesn't float. Icky has been a better rookie than Neal and at a more difficult position. Parsons and Horn are two all-pro level talents.
  9. I hope no one is thinking our WR room is good. Maybe it becomes average if Shenault gets healthy and looks like he did vs the Saints. I definitely think our QBs are bad enough to lose games by themselves, but our WRs don’t help much.
  10. Young, imo. I don’t understand why everyone is nervous to take a smaller QB when the league is close to making them wear a no-contact jersey on the field. Sure, he’ll take a few hits but he can hold up with today’s rules. No draft eligible QB this year has a better understanding of how to play the position than Young. And when things break down, his improvisation is elite. We’ve watched… Teddy - good understanding of the game but risk averse and average athleticism/arm talent. Cam - the recent version is past prime and weak on arm strength and accuracy. Darnold - below average feel for the game. The type that looks good in drills but it’s too mechanical to translate to games. Baker - seeing ghosts and happy feet Young is a great solution at QB after what we’ve watched the last few years. An elite football-IQ quarterback with good athleticism/arm talent. His ceiling is as close to Mahomes as there has been since KC drafted him.
  11. I’d love to know which 9. I’m struggling to think of plays I remember DJ jumping out as a clear #1 type receiving talent. And for everyone pointing to clips where he’s open and not targeted, there have also been plenty of money downs where he fails to get any separation vs man coverage.
  12. C. Kupp J. Jefferson S. Diggs T. Hill J. Waddle D. Adams D. Hopkins M. Evans A. Cooper J. Chase AJ Brown Deebo Marquise Brown D. Smith C. Lamb T. Higgins T. Lockett M. Williams C. Olave DK Metcalf G. Davis T. McLaurin Would you take DJ over any of the above? That was a quick 22 and I’m sure I’m forgetting some.
  13. DJ is an average #2 WR. His ceiling is similar to Allen Robinson which is helpful when paired with a stud like Cupp. If Robinson or Moore are your #1, your offense is in trouble.
  14. According to OverTheCap, it's only 9m dead cap for next year with 12mil in cap savings, right?
  15. No, I still believe Fitt and the cap guy know more than Huddlers about CMC's value.
  16. It seems clear our staff isn't trading him unless they receive multiple top picks or significant young players in the deal. Our staff is smarter than Huddle posters about it. So those of you saying we should take only a 3rd or 4th rd pick are just showing your lack of knowledge on the topic. Since the Broncos were mentioned, I wouldn't mind seeing if they would send Javonte Williams (2nd rd - significantly injured), Quinn Meinerz (3rd rd), and their 2024 1st/2nd round pick for CMC. They know with Wilson's contract and some of their other signings, they need to go for it now and Javonte's injury may have them willing to make this move. We end up with a top pick, a promising young RB that won't prevent our tank this year, and a solid interior linemen that can help bolster our OL.
  17. Why would you trade CMC for a 3rd round pick? Even if you were right about him not being in high demand, isn't he worth more than a 3rd rounder to our team? You're not right about that, by the way. The Bills called immediately after we fired Rhule and I'm sure they're not alone.
  18. I agree with most of the rest, but I disagree with parts of #8. If you draft a QB in the top 10 in 2023, you absolutely throw him out there if you think he's the guy. He'll either prove he is and the difference will show up in the win/loss column because we have a defense to pair with him. OR - he shows he isn't ready and you draft one of Drake Maye, Caleb Williams, or Quinn Ewers in 2024 to compete with him. You'll find your franchise QB taking this route and you can flip the loser of the battle for picks or keep him as a backup.
  19. Maybe you should edit "1. Trade Mccaffrey. Offer to pay the rest of his salary this year and try to get a late 2nd rounder from a contender. At the very least a 3rd rounder." That's looney to even think about trading CMC while eating some of the salary for 'at the very least' a 3rd rounder. Taking on his cap hit for a 3rd round pick is not a move you make when the player is still one of the best skill players in football.
  20. Where’s the receipts on all those complaining about that pick?
  21. It’s difficult to read past #1 when you suggested trading our best player for a 3rd rd pick and eat some of his salary.
  22. Agree that we’re going nowhere with the current version of RA as our #2 WR.
