Nope. That’s your character and lack of wisdom speaking out. Only the least of us think finding our coach is more important than supporting family/friends who just lost a loved one.
-
My preference at this point: Steichen Dorsey Ryans (they said both parties may "circle back" later in the process) Kafka Wilks Reich (because I think we could get him as OC if Wilks retained) Broncos DC Caldwell Payton (If rumored 2 1sts from Panthers is true. If only one future 1st or less, he rises to top 2) ***My top 4 are close to interchangeable. A lot of potential and unknown with each of them. Similar candidates with differing approaches. Hopeful we choose the right one.

"When will we know the new head coach?" - A three year study

I‘m going with 1/24 -
It would be a punch in the gut to give up two 1sts for Payton with no franchise QB on the roster.

Graziano: Fangio leading DC Candidate in Carolina for Young HC
ECHornet replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
McAdoo/Fangio? Just wondering. -
Doug Pederson or Mike Vrabel Who is the better coach? Who do you prefer to lead your team? Mike Vrabel has coached 5 years and averages right at 10 wins per season. No trophies to show for it. Doug Pederson, if you exclude the year he won the Super Bowl, is just under .500 in win % and averaged ~8 wins over 5 years.

David Tepper.... Year 5 ownership, + and - of Tepper
ECHornet replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
None of those trades were terrible if you consider the situations we were in at the time and what we gave up. We got Mayfield for peanuts at a backup QB value. We gave the Jaguars a below average tight end and ~4th round value pick for our #3 CB. Darnold was a risk and he played like he may have been worth the trade this year. Likely too little, too late for him though. You question the move to acquire Stafford? The QB who won a Super Bowl last year? lol Also, we clearly weren’t going to give up all that Watson wanted for that trade. We have different views on these moves. -

I truly feel like we're in on every deal. I would much rather have that mentality from an owner/GM combo than those who never make a push. It's more fun to follow. Rock Hill doesn't bother me - not my money Soccer doesn't bother me - not my money -
I’ll be thrilled if we come away from the ‘24 draft with any of Maye, Williams, Harrison Jr, or Bowers. Looking like a strong draft at the top. Deep with high ceiling QBs too.
-
The more I watch of Mayer and Kincaid, the less separation exists imo. Kincaid is a more fluid runner, but Mayer is listed around 25lbs heavier. Both are great options.

I just can’t imagine the Jets being scary.

Could anything make you quit the team?
ECHornet replied to Brooklyn 3.0's topic in Carolina Panthers
This for me too. Except if it’s just over the border in SC. Don’t see that happening though. I do wish they were closer to eastern NC. It would make watching them a lot easier, but if they remain in NC, they’ll always be my team. -
My dream scenario (ignoring my dream of landing Maye/Williams in 2024): -Bears stay at #1 and go best defensive player in draft -Texans are scared off of Young due to size concerns and draft Stroud/Levis -We trade up (swap 1sts + both 2023 2nds + 2023 5th) with the Cardinals and select Young. We would have a Mahomes-esque QB to build around on a rookie contract with all of our draft picks in tact the following years.
-
My bet is he ends up signing a contract elsewhere that is slightly higher, but not very different from what the Ravens offered.
-
I honestly started reading his statement on Twitter expecting it to be a “staying in school” announcement. They did a good job raising interest. Young/Stroud or mid to late round rookie in this draft for me.
-
If Fangio is consulting for the Eagles as one poster mentioned, and the Eagles DC is rumored to be leading for Texans HC, doesn’t it make sense that he’d take that position if vacant?
-
The phrasing of her first question was intended to piss him off. Something like… ”You told us your team would be disciplined, what did you think of that last penalty?” I’d have felt the same as Harbaugh. I wish we could have heard what he was about to say when they cut away.

What if Stroud doesn’t declare for draft…

Locker was the 8th overall pick. -
Great time to have Bozeman on our team. Who would know better if Jackson is the leader we need than his center?
-
That’s both exciting and terrifying at the same time.
-
Hindsight. The only one I thought was dumb at the time was Darnold’s option. CJ is our #3 CB. Shenault is, or should be, our #3 WR. Those aren’t bad returns for what we gave up and on their rookie deals.
-
I’d give two 2023 QBs a top 20 grade; Young and Stroud. Stroud may not even declare. I’d consider taking a flier on AR if we can trade back and acquire a 2024 1st OR keep #9 and trade up into late 1st. Levis is more of a late second to third rounder. He’s another Kenny Pickett imo. Next year is much deeper and has more premier talent at the top. Especially if Stroud stays in school.

Only including trades doesn’t account for all moves Fitt made last off-season. Here is the link to all Panthers trades made in 2022: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/transactions/2022/carolina-panthers/trade/ Order of trades by success in my opinion: Shenault —> Daley —> CMC —> Baker —> Robbie Shenault - he may be our most explosive playmaker with the ball in his hands. We have to find ways to get him the ball on sweeps or out of the backfield next year Daley - Was likely going to be cut. Getting anything at that point is a success. Getting a 5th was good work. CMC - I view this as a win/win trade. Was hoping it would lead to a worse record this season with him gone, but turns out our offense functioned better without him. It was a shame our coaches weren’t capable of scheming him appropriately. Still, a good haul for a big contract RB with injury questions. Baker - It didn’t work out on the field, but I’m not mad about that trade at all. It was worth what we gave up (5th rounder) and paid (5mil) to take the shot. Robbie - Not mad about the trade. The extension before that is what makes it terrible
-
I like CMC too, but don’t see how Panthers fans could root for a 49ers win with so much draft position riding on it for us.
