I do. I think Reich and co or the coaching staff where he lands will coach him to settle his feet more in the pocket. In doing so, they need to be careful to not limit what makes him special. He’s an elite distributor of the football and a lot of that is a product of his maneuvers in the pocket. I believe he does some of that to overcome his height (backing up to extend plays). Stroud, to me, is an elite passer. I view Young as an elite passer and also an elite playmaker. That’s why I view him as a diet Mahomes and hope he’s the pick.

The main deficiencies were bouncy/inconsistent footwork, sometimes missing open receivers in the middle of the field, and trying to extend plays too long. What’s funny is in some of the lowlights where his footwork is notably erratic, Bryce still finds a way athletically to hit the receiver.

Yea, these are great. Thanks for posting. I watched both the Stroud and Young videos. I feel like we can be optimistic about our future with either QB as our guy moving forward. With that said, there are just more special plays and wow factor in Young’s tape. Sports are entertainment and he would bring it the most. I think we’ll be a consistent playoff caliber team with either one. Everyone looks for QBs to go through their progressions, but there is a level beyond that. Young has the awareness and processing to utilize quick pump fakes or head movements to get his target open. He does that while going through progressions. The Thinking Football video does a good job of showing it, and it’s part of what makes him my #1 QB. We’re in a good spot to have the option to pick from those two.

I’ll pull up a chair beside ya. Cheers

I read he’s going to. Haven’t seen it yet though. The video link someone posted of TJ Hushmandzadeh (thanks google) discussing the QBs made it seem like Bryce is consistently over 200lbs and not as frail as he’s depicted.

lol. That post hit home, didn’t it? I’m not saying it shouldn’t be discussed, but ppl are foolish for casting him off due to it. Even more foolish to ignore his actual weigh ins that show he’s 15-20lbs heavier than they expected, making him less of an outlier than originally thought. From what I’ve gathered from you, we both will be happy either way. Cheers to that. No secret who we prefer though.
-
I read on the Texans board a while back that he may be working through something with his shoulder. Probably bogus since he’s throwing today.
-
Prediction 1: Bryce will weigh in at 202lbs at his pro day Prediction 2: Certain Huddle posters will be claiming he’s back down to his playing weight of 185lbs by midnight.

Cedric Tillman and AT Perry could be targets with our 3rd or 4A, if they make it there. -

Then in 2-3 weeks, Stroud will be 204. I, too, can propose hypothetical weights instead of using the facts. -

I’ll be happy either way but prefer Young. I did chuckle seeing that Stroud weighs a whole 9lbs more than frail, wittle Bryce Young. -
We’re not going to pick up an 11m option for Henderson. That doesn’t mean he won’t be a Panther in 2024. We may keep him around on a cheaper deal.

Bears would have accepted Moore, Burns or Brown.

Texan's offered Bears 2024 First Round pick to move up to #1.

If this played out and the Texans give us their 2024 1st and we still get our guy…….man oh man would Fitt be a legend. Means we would have lost: 2.61 (one of the last picks in the 2nd this year), a 2025 2nd, and DJ Moore to land our future franchise QB. Losing DJ hurts, but the Texans will likely have a top 5-10 pick next year that we could land a WR1 (Marvin Harrison Jr) or a guy like Brock Bowers. Sheesh -

Most accurate take in this thread. -
I like Downs, but I don’t think I’d use the 39th pick on him. For as agile and shifty as he seems to be, he rarely eludes the first tackler and goes down pretty easy. Now getting separation in routes is a strength and I trust his hands, but I need a little more elusiveness to spend an early 2nd on a small slot receiver.

You’re everywhere trying to tell people who view Young as a good option that they’re going overboard. You liking other options better doesn’t make Young a bad one. How about taking a breather yourself from visiting every Young thread just to tell ppl to stop talking about him? At least, please don’t pretend like Young has never been tackled by a 300lb defender after 3 years in the SEC My stance is I’ll be happy with Young or Stroud, but I view Young as the more talented of the two.

I’ve been hyping LaPorta as TE3 for a while now, and I don’t see a huge difference between him and Kincaid. lol a the one link that said Laporta has unimpressive overall athleticism. He ranked 3rd of all TEs at the combine in athleticism. LaPorta in the 3rd (I think he’s selected well before the 93rd pick) or Z Kuntz with our 4B pick is my hope.
-
He won’t be available in the 4th and he’s not as raw as you think imo. He‘s a hands catcher who finds holes in zones well and is good at using his size advantage to position himself to make the catch. I like him in the 3rd and wouldn’t mind him late 2nd if we traded back.
-
Cedric Tillman or AT Perry in the 3rd.

It’s hard to describe intangibles sometimes. I view Young as savvy to a degree that will be above average his first year. He seems to also have that same sense as Mahomes to avoid the direct blows. He’s far more elusive than Stroud. I predict Stroud will take more direct hits that could lead to injury than Young.
