I wasn't interpreting anything from it. Just posting why there are some who think he’s headed to Tenn. I agree it could mean nothing, but there is a reason we haven’t heard about a deal yet.

We can agree on that and also agree it’s not easy to acquire two firsts and a second round pick while saving over $20mil in cap space. What we did with those picks and the cap space would have decided the success of the trade. I honestly thought it would be Burns & #9 traded for #1 with maybe another 3rd thrown in.

They haven’t. It’s OP’s best guess. The evidence for it… Trade up right after combine in which Young didn’t throw, but Stroud did. QB Coach comparing Stroud to Burrow in a complimentary breakdown video. It was reported that Reich likes Stroud and Tepper likes Young, but that was speculation and Shefter walked it back after someone in the Panthers organization told him we like ALL the QBs. lol But McCown was also extremely complimentary of Young. “PG on grass” comment from McCown and our new OC says he looks for a PG on grass in QBs. Also this: I don’t think anyone outside the front office knows at this point.

If we were going to trade down to acquire more picks, I don’t think we would have given up DJ.

I’d say a Super Bowl win should grant a 3 year minimum grace period from fans.

Darnell Washington is the Anthony Richardson of TEs. He has elite measurables and a high ceiling, but others are better at playing the position.

All “must signs” are dependent on price unless they’re a top 3 QB. Even then, some of the teams paying top 3 QB Cap Hits will struggle to surround them with enough talent unless they hit on cheap, rookie contracts. The Mahomes deal is a beauty and should be every teams’ goal for salary discussions with franchise QBs.

It is completely ridiculous that the NFL doesn’t differentiate a franchise tag of an offensive tackle vs interior olinemen. They do so for DT and DE.

Have to let him walk if that’s truly what he and his representatives are asking. The difference in Boze and Elf at center is not worth $10mil more per year.

Lazy post. We paid Luvu instead of Hassan. Value wise, I believe it was a smart move.

I think it was a fair trade for both teams. A lot of how the trade will be viewed moving forward depends on how well DJ performs with Fields. And, of course, if we land a franchise QB. If we end up with a top 10 QB in the league, five years from now fans will think we fleeced the Bears.

I like the trade back in RD2 idea unless an obvious choice drops. I’d target LaPorta in late RD2. At WR, AT Perry in the 3rd would be good value and Tank Dell is a mini sized Jerry Jeudy.

Casual fans who don’t consider the pick swap say we gave up two 1sts. Then there is a discrepancy on how DJ is valued.

He’s not overrated. Most everyone believes he’s a WR3 type at best. I think he’s a sleeper RB1 or, at minimum, a good 3rd down back type.
