  1. Yes, everything about playing QB except size and maybe accuracy (which I think is close).
  2. Looks like a beautifully structured deal. Also looks like Samir is guaranteeing portions, but not all, of the second year salary in some of these contracts. I like it because it shows the player we’re committed to them more than just one year, but we’re also not crushed with dead cap if we have to move on.
  3. Only if the incentive is considered “likely to be earned” which is determined by looking at the previous year. I’m unclear how they would consider Dalton’s incentives being he’s clearly brought in to be a backup/mentor, but he played quite a bit last year.
  4. I don’t think any of Dalton’s will be considered “likely to be earned” once we pick a QB with #1. Maybe though.
  5. Spreading the signing bonus over 5 years. lol So his cap hit for 2023 might be just over $2mil.
  6. The $4.835mil signing bonus is Dalton’s at signing of the contract so that’s guaranteed. It is divided between the two years for cap purposes only. The 2023 base salary of $1.165mil is likely fully guaranteed. Those two total $6mil and many are reporting $8mil is guaranteed. I’m just wondering where the $2mil extra is coming from. Likely half of the 2024 base is guaranteed. So if we cut him or he retires after 2023, we eat ~$4.4mil in 2024 dead cap.
  7. So a cap hit of ~$3.5mil for 2023. Still leaves plenty of room. I wonder what makes it a total of $8mil guaranteed.
  8. They also might become your head coach one day.
  9. I’m biased bc I badly wanted and expected Howell when we traded up. Still do. Why don’t you think our current staff is willing to give him a look as at least a backup?
  10. You have to also acknowledge our new staff with tons of QB experience is trying to get rid of Corral for a “ham sandwich.”
  11. lol Yea, Simms has a pretty decent track record and you're right that they all will miss on some. Corral's performance before his injury didn't exactly inspire confidence though.
  12. I agree with the poster who likes pecan the best, but I love some apple pie with vanilla ice cream too.
  13. Clemson draft eligible players: Myles Murphy DE 268lbs 6-5 4.57 Bryan Bresee DT 298lbs 6-6 4.86 Trenton Simpson LB 235lbs 6-2 4.43 K.J. Henry DE 251lbs 6-4 4.63 Lannden Zanders S 210lbs 6-1 4.56 Jordan McFadden OG 303lbs 6-2 4.99 Davis Allen TE 245lbs 6-6 4.84 Joseph Ngata WR 217lbs 6-3 4.54 Keep in mind they could be looking at guys to trade back into late rounds or potential UDFA. My guess on the main target of that group would be KJ Henry in mid-late rounds. I don't know much about Jordan McFadden but we could use IOL depth, and he had the 7th highest athleticism score for guards at the combine. McFadden is currently a borderline draft/UDFA guy who could be a good addition late. He played OT at Clemson.
  14. If we're shipping Chinn to the Bengals, I'd aim for Tee Higgins. If we have to throw a mid-round pick in addition to Chinn then so be it.
  15. Russell was definitely carrying more muscle mass at his pro day. So Bryce was less physically developed, but at the same weight. That suggests he has more potential to add muscle mass than Wilson. I believe the same in comparison to Murray.
  16. I deleted the first post because it was a double post. Second, I never said Bozeman wouldn’t sign with the Panthers. You were picking and choosing at that time. I posted all the facts in the post you quoted. You focused on the positive ones for the Panthers and were right this time. Reminds me of a saying about a broken clock. Take care
  17. I can only assume Shaq’s deal isn’t finalized yet. Maybe we’re waiting to see how much we actually spend in FA to see how much of his salary we need to convert to bonus.
  18. Agreed. If we find a better option in the next two drafts or elsewhere, it should be a pretty trade-friendly contract too.
  19. I think we have our pass rushers unless we draft one
