I’m sure the plan would be to negotiate a contract extension that would convert most of his 2024 salary into a bonus. That’s assuming the Broncos don’t take on some of what he’s owed which they may. There would still be enough money to go after Higgins in the off-season and keep Theilen and Mingo around. WR1 - Higgins/Mingo WR2 - Jeudy/TMJ Slot - Theilen/Ihmir S-M (return duties) That’s likely a ~#10-15 WR room in 2024 if we can swing it. We’re currently ~#32. That would certainly help give Bryce options. Higgins’s stock right now is at its lowest. Some rough drops + struggling offense + injury should knock his asking price down.

Jeudy’s cap number currently ranks 27th for WRs in 2024, and it will certainly drop lower after the next free agency cycle.

Kyle Bailey says Tepper isnt happy, wants changes now.

I’m one of the few still not worried about Bryce. The only thing concerning I’ve seen from him is he looks easily discouraged in games at the moment. That will improve as well. Any word on what we’re offering for WR help or who we’re targeting? -
Panther Shopping for Number 1 caliber WR, Top Priority

I didn’t say Davis was a #1. I think that’s fair trade value for Burns though. We should be trying to build our team for the future with Bryce. A young, top end #2 that you can lock in for a reasonable price for the next 5-6 years. A young, rookie TE who is already sharing TE1 duties on one of the best teams in the NFL. It helps that he’s an excellent receiving TE when we lack receiving options. Leonard Floyd to bridge the gap at EDGE. A 2nd round pick to continue building. ~$25-30 million saved in cap space we can use to sign our EDGE and/or WR1. I’d take it in a heartbeat. -

If I were GM… Bills Receive: Brian Burns + DJ Chark Panthers receive: Gabe Davis + Leonard Floyd + Dalton Kincaid + 2024 2nd All players listed, except Kincaid, are in the final year of their contracts. Bills already have Dawson Knox tied up through the 2026 season. They can have Thomas, Tremble, or Hurst in return, if necessary. Gabe Davis is 24 yo and Kincaid will turn 24 this month. Spotrac has Davis’s market value at ~11mil/year so we wouldn’t be crushing our cap. Let them grow up with Bryce. They’ve already shown to be weapons in the NFL, so no risking Burns’s return on draft picks. Floyd would man the vacated EDGE role until we figure out the long term plan there. Of course, getting the Bills to jump on this might be difficult as good as they look currently. -
I’d trade Burns, Sanders, Hurst, and a pick, if necessary, for Sam Laporta and Jahmyr Gibbs right now. Let them grow together on offense with Bryce. Doubt the Lions would even go for that though.
-
I wonder if Burrow taking money the team knows will prevent them staying together is a cause for their rough start.
-
He's likely insurance for 2024 in case we no longer have Houston and/or YGM on the roster. I agree that's not what we should be looking for in the 3rd round, but I see the potential need.

What are your best ideas for trade packages to help this team?

Edges? There are easily 8 better right now, but he could end up top 3 over the next ~5 years. -
A lot of posters watching this Colorado game in tears, it seems. lol Put me in the camp that likes Deion, thinks he’s great for college football, and also enjoys seeing him getting whooped today.
-
Jeremiah Trotter Jr would be a lock for me in the 3rd round if he’s still there. I think he’s currently viewed as a 2nd rounder, but his lack of elite measurables could make him slide to the 3rd. Easy pick for us with Shaq injured and nearing the end of his career.
-
Sadly agree. There have been plenty of years you could ask if it’s really an “upset” if ECU beats NC State. This is not one of those years.
-
Sign Mike Evans and Calvin Ridley this off-season and stick it to the NFCS.

While listed at OLB, I’m pretty sure I saw YGM with his hand down at the 5T. I mentioned in the off-season this, imo, is his best position and primarily on passing downs. He’s not quick enough to disrupt off the edge, but his size/speed combo can work well at 5T. Sure enough, he would have had a solo sack if Houston hadn’t arrived at the same time last night. I believe he was credited with a half sack. Good to see him contributing and hope it continues.

Who told Frank9999 he could start threads around here?

We’re only missing our own Tyreke/Waddle combo and innovative play calling. I’m far more concerned with the lack of weapons and the play calling than Bryce. At least I can hold onto hope that Thomas Brown will improve one of those.
-
He threw a few bullets off platform right to the WR’s numbers last night. Remind me when any of our last three QBs did that, and it was his 2nd game as a pro. Relax
-
Shaq’s out for a while. Grade 2 ankle inversion sprain is best case scenario. He might have broken it.
-
Let’s see what we have in Chark/Mingo/Theilen/TMJ/Shenault by the trade deadline. Lots of unknowns. Trading for Renfrow would make the Theilen signing pretty pointless imo.
-
I have my eye on Rashod Bateman and his usage in Baltimore. He’s another injury-plagued WR with some upside which we clearly don’t mind targeting. If Chark doesn’t work out, we can probably get Bateman for cheap before the deadline if Flowers keeps eating into his targets. We’d have him on his rookie contract in 2024 and 5th year option available if he produces and is healthy.
