  1. Another point is, Miami is sticking with Tua, they aren’t trading for Watson. The Jets, at least to me, lack the players to compete offers from us. Do they have more picks, of course, but Tepper would probably shell out more future picks than NYJ is comfortable with especially with a new coach. Trading out of conference makes us have the advantage as well. That does matter, some may disagree but it does matter. To me, the Niners are the team to watch out for in this trade. Will Watson be a Panther? I don’t know. Is it possible he will be? Yes.
  2. Yes we should keep him, but he wants to test the market, not a good sign for us. It will basically come down to him or Moton, I feel like Moton is the best option.
  3. Do you think it matters the reason for sitting out? Bell sat out for money, Watson is sitting out bc issues with upper management. I can’t remember, did Bell request a trade?
  4. I think it was Schefter who reported that Watson said he grew up poor, he has managed his money well and can live off of little. He would be prepared to sit out.
  5. I think Darnold, in the right situation, could be really good. Similar to Goff with the Rams. His first year with Fisher was trash, put him with McVay he went off for a year or two. Granted, he fell back off, but coaching matters. That’s why I said, in regards to Teddy and Darnold, “as of now” bc now it’s kind of a wash until Darnold goes to the right situation. Houston wouldn’t be that right situation so you’d probably get the same results if Teddy went there.
  6. Yeah, good point. I did read though the Miami is set on moving forward with Tua. As of now could Teddy and Darnold be a wash? By that I mean, we could send Teddy to Houston and that would be just as favorable as NYJ getting Darnold, no?
  7. Fair, but the Jets don’t have the star power to offer someone like Cmc. They may want two defensive players, but they probably didn’t think someone like Cmc would be in a package. CMC and picks should outweigh a lot of offers.
  8. In Belicheck’s defense, that team was horrendous, Brady would not have changed that. Some have even said Brady leaving was more about Tom seeing the team was bad and wanted out. Jameis threw for 5k yards with that Tampa O (one of only four QBs to ever do it I believe) and the Bucs added Gronk, AB and Fournette.
  9. If Verge wasn’t saying these things, I’d be right there with you, but she is dependable with her sources.
  10. To be fair, Verge is very dependable with her sources and her sources are telling her stuff about Watson. That’s why this thread is so long. We all know Newton’s post was a bold prediction. Let’s just enjoy the ride and read and talk scenarios.
  11. Only bad thing about Fuller is he is suspend for six games next year.
  12. Bears fans think they are getting every player in a trade or FA period. It’s wild
  13. Haha I have no clue. It’s such an weird situation. Houston seems awful and I like watching him play, so I just want him to play somewhere.
  14. I think we all got pumped when we saw the reports that we were a “dark horse” to get him and the report about us being aggressive in his pursuit. Pair that up with him playing at Clemson and you have a recipe for cloud nine livin’ to crash and burn back to down to earth. Then ESPN+ released an article like @Wolfcop said where 4/9 writers picked us as Watson’s landing spot. I hope I’m wrong, I hope he comes here, but the chances are not good.
  15. That’s partly true, but in the end, Watson has to give it his blessing before Houston can pull the trigger.
  16. I get it, but my point is that’s two sources that have now said Jets aren’t it for him. “Probably not” isn’t a no, but it’s not reassuring. Like I said, he probably won’t be traded anyway.
  17. ESPN just ran a segment where they said sources have said there is a list of teams Watson is interested in. They didn’t reveal all the teams but two of the were Denver and San Fran. The jets were “eh, probably not”. Thats two places now that have said he doesn’t want to go to NYJ. Matt Miller has a source that told him that last week and now ESPN is saying the something similar. I dont think Caserio trades him anyway, but I don’t see it being the Jets if they do. I think that’s a bad move on their part (not trading him at all), Why keep a guy that has made it adamantly clear he doesn’t want to be there? Houston is a mess.
  18. There were rumors it was there or GB
  19. Some ppl say he wants to go to NYJ, some swear he doesn’t (Matt Miller). We will just have to sit back and watch this play out.
  20. Haha it’s all good. You think it means anything?
  21. Without clicking on that, that car looked like a helmet at first glance and I got pumped thinking it was new uniforms...
  22. Have you heard anything about us lately from your source?
  23. I don’t see that. Clausen had Eifert, Michael Floyd and Golden Tate, they all made up for his awful play. His game couldn’t translate well to the NFL. Wilson is dominating with no names on his offense. Making 60 yard throws with ease and on the dot, throws on the run and throws under pressure are on target. He does have flaws but no one is perfect. Check out JT O’Sullivans break down of him on youtube, really good stuff.
