Panthers will keep Jonathon Brooks on NFI list
PappyMay replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have high hopes for him. Aaron Jones is the runner I hear him most compared to. Just take a short yardage back in the mid rounds or goal line vet. Can't imagine us keeping Hubbard or Sanders next year. Maybe there will be another Braelon Allen type! -
how nice is this?! Last year we were just throwing dumps and screens and complaining and now people want to argue about making the wrong throw on a 20yd completion. Seems we are moving in the right direction. Keep Pounding!

I can see that if Mingo and Legette don’t step forward. Hoping they will though. Also if can’t retain Johnson would love to see Godwin. Cut Sanders, extend Moton 1 yr and restructure, and if Dj Johnson looks serviceable cut Wonnum. Would free up over 16mil I imagine .

For 8.4 mil , if Theilen can even be a WR3 I’d rather keep him in 2025. Would give Mingo and XL one more year to develop and not need to use next year early pick on WR. If he looks decent maybe he could fetch a day 3 pick Aswell. But I don’t like the idea of him walking. Even just for 3rd downs and leadership on a young team he could be worth the price.

I think they'll scheme him up 2-3 targets a game. Try to get the ball in his hand and hope his physicality can create something. I dont expect a crazy season, but would love to see just like 500yds and 4TD's. He's WR4 at best this year. Hope next year he can be WR3. Sucks that we did that with a first round pick, but we need him out there and to keep getting reps. Maybe towards the end of his rookie contract he'll look like a great WR2.

I agree with the future outlook on our picks. Also hope Chau Smith-Wade can get a red shirt year and take over for Troy Hill at nickel in 2025.

Jaycee Horn’s future with the Panthers

He’s a top 10 corner when healthy. If he plays well I expect to him to get a little south of what AJ Terrell just got. -
How long will the Carolina Panthers rebuild take?
PappyMay replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m expecting 5-12 this year. Gain 3 wins this year. Do the same again. Just can’t imagine it goes much faster than that. -

If we keep Evero and have a solid off season I’m hoping to flirt with .500 in 2025 -
I'm hoping this will happen. If he starts at ILB 2025 and Chau Smith-Wade can start at nickel next year having 2 defensive starters on rookie deals will go a long way.

i plan on taking him as my Flex in both my leagues.

I'm hoping and thinking these last 4-5 spots everyone is fighting for wont even matter. There has to be another team with a spot starter corner about to get cut we could trade one of our 7ths for or something. And hopefully Brooks stays on pace to come back week 3-4 like they are saying so RB wont matter long as what we have stays healthy the first few weeks.

I’m still here and pounding. Think it makes it easier being in Alabama. Not many care as much since it’s SEC football kingdom. There isn’t as much hate or trash talking about my team sucking because over half the football fans down here don’t care.

Atleast we’d get 2 extra 3rd rd picks to miss on.

What is the benefit to benching starters for the preseason?
PappyMay replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh we are picking top 10 for sure. We could hit 7 wins and good chance we’d pick top 10, I’m expecting pick 4-7 -
I don’t see any TE or WR depth but on paper their starters look like a pretty solid team. I’d take that roster over ours( I know it’s not saying much)

The Jets Joint Practice Thread: HOT Take Edition
PappyMay replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Love that dude, he was a year ahead of me at Troy. Go Trojans. -
agreed, but there does look to be an all pro talent in Pierce at DE and Will Johnson at CB. Then maybe Travis Hunter if he decides what he wants to do and not have Deion in his ear. Grab a perianal pro-bowler at a position and keep on building!
-
could you imagine this team if we took the next player drafted at the position we drafted over the last 4 years? Would have Surtain over Horn, Charles Cross over Ickey, and then CJ Stoud over Bryce. Man this team would be looking nice on paper. I'd be hoping for 12-5, not to go 5-12 this year.
-
agreed, i mean who else could be a house hold name. Brown is Elite. My favorite Panther now that Luvu is gone.
-
Clowney is known, Horn would be known if his ass would stay healthy. I just don’t see who else could be. Brooks if he goes crazy back half of the year could be Jahmyr Gibbs. Dionte Johnson maybe. Just not a ton of talent that could explode sadly. Thanks Fitts!

My original response was towards another poster's comment about Tepper leaving Charlotte for a NFL hungry city. I was stating I don't see that happening with the renovation being done and paid for by the great taxpayers of Charlotte. We will suck a few more years. I'm well aware.

Doesn't change the fact that even if we are bad I can't foresee leaving.
