There is no one at pick 8/9 I’m in love with at the moment. If Murphy falls can he be a day 1 run stopping DE? We going to use a top 10 pick on a #2 WR? Too high for any of these safeties or Backers. Assuming both our corners are healthy no need for a corner that early. Only spot on the Oline to address is Bozeman spot that we can get a day 1 starter in the second if not resigned or pray Eiflen can handle it one more year.

Wilks Set This Team Back
PappyMay replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was nice to have a reason to watch or listen to games for half the season for once. I owe that to Wilks. You can’t be mad at a guy for trying to win and do his best when he’s pretty much interviewing to stay in this league. Even if not at a head coaching level a team will see the turn around and want that type of guy in their locker room.- 143 replies

Silver Linings: Unheralded Player Shoutouts
PappyMay replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
And the best news is they’re all under contract next year. If Luvu does this performance again though he won’t be cheap. -
I assume we will be picking at 8 or 9 and i’d rather trade down than up. We need so many upgrades I’d love another 2nd round pick. So many guys in the top 50 could come contribute to this team early. And if we trade down to teens and gain a pick I’d feel way more comfortable with Mayer being picked or taking a shot at Richardson knowing we gained a selection to help build out the team.

frustrating, but i'm still a fan as always. The team looked like who we thought they are especially missing both starting corners. Imagine we win next week and cost ourselves pick positioning but is what it is. Keep Pounding.

I love Shaq, I think his cap hit is a bit much, but I dont hate the player or the man. I wonder how much a 1-2 year extension past his current contract could help with the salary cap implications and see him retire a Panther.
-
if they outright cut him I'd be interested, but we don't need to give up assets to pay a 32 year old that kind of money. 32 million in 2023 than goes all the way up to 41mil in 2024! Darnold is still only 25 and just a year older than Hooker.
-
If we make it to the playoffs i'd like to see an extension of 2 years with there being only 3 or 4 million guaranteed year two incase he goes back to his former self. But if he can keep this game managing up and we upgrade 3-4 spots we could be really dangerous.

Steve Smith and Tre Boston on Josh Norman resigning

Bring them both in as assistants for the rest of the year and light that under their asses! -
So next week’s game against the Bucs is definitely rigged, right?
PappyMay replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m more worried about our corners trying to cover Godwin and Evan’s than flags. -
We win in Tampa next week if these Bucs show up. Long as our secondary can keep them under 20pts.
-
He won’t make it past the early 2nd. Most sites have him as the 3rd or 4th WR in their rankings. But I don’t have him with our 2nd if there. Imagine he won’t be sadly though.
-
If we go to playoffs I hope we extend him for a 2 year deal with most all the guarantees being paid up year one minus 3-4 million. Let’s see if he can keep the game managing up. I was more concerned with our secondary today than Sam’s game managing.

I know we need draft help but man was that game fun. Especially the first half! Nervous to hear about Horn though! Need him on Mike Evans -

Headed to the game now! First one since we lost in OT last year to the Vikes. Hoping the control the run game and no thrown picks. Keep pounding! -
Watching Zach Wilson play reminds me EXACTLY of Corral
PappyMay replied to DMathematics's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was drafted in the 3rd…. Gave up last years 4th and this years 3rd. Seems like way more than basically a 5th. Maybe Mathematics aren’t my thing though. -

We have little idea what we have yet. It’s way too early to write this kid off. He won 10 games at Ole Miss which is no easy feat in the SEC. Quick release yes and wasn’t asked to make a ton of progressions, OK. But how many times do Panther QB’s actually have time to make more than 2 reads? Im Not saying he is the answer but I hope he can be adequate Incase we need to use our assets for the other half a dozen holes on this roster. -
Panthers' situation aside, who are your favorite overall prospects?
PappyMay replied to saX man's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
I'm big on Drew Sanders. Went to Alabama as an Athlete and played as a Freshman. Got hurt Sophomore season and when he was gone another player stole his starting spot and never gave it back. Has looked great at Arkansas and rocketed up boards. My fear is now we'd have to take him with that San Fran 2nd rounder to get him at this point. -
Brock Purdy and why we don't need to draft a 1st round QB
PappyMay replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm fine with a QB round 1, but I dont want to give up a bunch of assets to move up when we have other areas that are also in need of an upgrade. -

Detroit, Pitt, Saints, Broncos (minus Juedy) are all bad teams. Then Seattle and Tampa are average it appears. It’s hard not to imagine we win 2-3 more games and picking where we have been. Just hope we select a pro bowl caliber player no matter the position.

Motion: refer to Laviska Shenault as LVS moving forward
PappyMay replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm becoming a fan. The compensation we gave up to get him was the same as we got for Robbie and their salaries aren't event close. Looking forward to a few splash plays from him this year and next. -
I'd love to resign foreman for 4/5 mil a year. If that doesnt happen would love Tucker from Syracuse in the 3rd. I know Robinson or Gibbs early in the 2nd would be nice, but really hope we use that for a TE that can catch or quality linebacker. Paying Thomas that contract after getting Tremble baffles me still.
