Falcons Sign DE/OLB O’Brien Schofield Schofield was someone to keep an eye on for the Falcons this offseason given their need for a pass-rusher and the fact that he spent time working with Dan Quinn in Seattle. Schofield, 27, appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks last year and recorded 21 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 26 outside linebacker out of 59 qualifying players.

  7. Eagles are still going to sign RB Ryan Mathews, even though they’re also signing DeMarco Murray. Mathews, 27, played out his four-year, $18.92 million rookie contract with the Chargers, which included $4,231,000 guaranteed. In 2014, Mathews was limited to appearing in just six games due to injury. He ran for 330 yards on 74 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 69 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.

  12. Titans Trying To Sign Both OLB Brian Orakpo & OLB Derrick Morgan Morgan is not signing with the Buccaneers, despite meeting with them on Thursday. The Cardinals are reportedly interest in Orakpo as well. Morgan, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Titans. He played out his five-year, $15,395,010 rookie contract that included $10.6 million guaranteed and is now prepared to test the open market in the next few months. In 2014, Morgan recorded 63 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and seven pass defenses for the Titans over the course of 16 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 8 outside linebacker in a 3-4 system out of 46 qualifying players this past season. Orakpo, 28, played out the 2014 season under the team’s franchise tag and is once again in line to be an unrestricted free agent. Last year, he made a salary of $11.455 million. In 2014, Orakpo recorded 24 tackles, a half sack and a pass defense over the course of seven games.

Stewart, 26, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2010. He spent the first four years of his career in St. Louis before the Ravens signed him to a one-year contract worth $1.3 million that included $300,000 guaranteed back in March of last year. In 2014, Stewart wound up appearing in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 53 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and four pass defenses. Update: Saints Sign CB Brandon Browner To A Three-Year Deal Browner, 30, had two years remaining on his three-year, $15.15 million contract, which includes base salaries of $1.9 million in 2015 and 2016, but it all came down to his option and the fact that he would have counted $4.8 million against the team’s cap in 2015. New England freed up $4.8 million in available cap space by declining Browner’s option. Last year, Browner appeared in nine games for the Patriots and recorded 25 tackles, one interception and six pass defenses.

Several” Teams Showing Interest In WR Stevie Johnson Update: Aaron Wilson reports that “several” teams have already expressed interest in former 49ers WR Stevie Johnson since he was officially released last night. We’re still waiting to hear who could be interested in him, but you would have to think the Ravens would want to at least speak with him now that they’ve lost Torrey Smith to the 49ers.
