I agree about trading down. I was a believer in guys like Hooker, Darnell Washington or Tank Bigsby around the 3rd rd.
-
Of course, that's always the answer for some of you guys on here. Everybody has to feel the same way y'all do. Guess what, it don't work that way with me. I guess a few of y'all can make new topics, and the rest of us should just sit back and read? Most of y'all didn't want Reich either! So your opinion means nothing to me, I'm old enough to have my own.
-
And you would have been front and center doing it. Just because I don't post a lot doesn't mean I don't pay attention.

I've not said anything about QB play specifically. I don't think QB has been the issue. I clearly said I believe we should have shored up some other positions before drafting QB. We didn't even get a chance to see what Corral was. And truly, he hasn't been that bad this camp.
-
If we had been playing like Super Bowl contenders these first few weeks everybody would be on here glowing and raving about how good we are! So what's wrong with questioning how bad we have looked?

All yall keep riding the "its only preseason" wave. Our OL consistency and depth is a HUGE problem. I never once said I didn't think Young was capable of being a starting caliber QB, or quite possibly a franchise type QB. All I said was I think we went QB a year to early. Time will tell...
-
SO we drafted our QB of the future, like some of yall wanted. After a few preseason games are any of you worried we picked the wrong QB? Or do any of you guys think we should have kept what we had and drafted help to protect a QB? I will say, I like Young as a QB, but I truly believe we drafted a QB 1 year too early. Hopefully I end being wrong, but we had other positions to sure up before QB. And so far, the OL is getting our QBs killed! Same problem we have had the last several years is still looking like a problem. THOUGHTS?

2023 Charlotte Hornets Summer League

Some things never change! We NEED SHOOTERS!!! This is embarrassing! -
OG-O'Cyrus Torrance or Steve Avila 1st job is to protect the investment!

The Panthers will trade back to 4 with the Colts and select AR with the 4th pick.
-
And you do know there is an ignore feature, as well as the option to not respond?
-
For what reason? Because I forgot we traded next years first?
-
Thats right, how quickly I forgot. Getting old is hell! I just think our TE position made it that much harder on our WR room. They were terrible!
-
Thoughts on a package of picks to move up to the middle to end of 1st rd to get a TE? Maybe next years 1st and this years 3rd for a pick around the 15-18 spot? Or do we sit and hope one is still there at 39? A quality TE is a must, either a FA, or thru the draft. Would any of you trade next years first to get Mayer? If we came out of this years 1st rd with Stroud and Mayer, that would be quite the start to the Reich regime!

If you trade with Arizona, they aren't taking a QB... -

I can't wait for us to trade back to 3, still get the QB we want, and get our 1st back in next years draft! -

How much cap space does this free up, by trading DJ?

Same team this year as last with this years coaching staff is easily a 9 or 10 win team. We won 7 games with this team, and a makeshift coaching staff. We lost the first 2 games by 6 pts combined and lost to Atl on a 15 yd celebration penalty. And should have beat TB at the end of the season. And since you know so much, how long do you think this staff of future HCs and Coordinators will stay together? I guarantee not long enough to develop a rookie QB. We need a veteran QB. Develop Corral, and then decide if we need to draft a QB in the next few years. Every draft will present opportunities to get good QBs.
-
When will he be able to start working out and throwing again? Or is he already doing that? I'm interested in what the staff thinks about him. I'm thinking Carr, Darnold, and Corral to start the season. Give Carr a 2 yr contract, after that time we will know what we have in Corral. If we don't like it, we draft a QB then. For what it's worth, I like next years QB class more then this years.

Anything that involves trading away picks is a risk not worth taking. We sign Carr, keep Darnold and Corrall. When 1 of the 4 top QBs slide to 9, see how bad somebody wants them. Gain more draft capital with the 9 pick. We now have a competent staff that could have this turned around really quick with a good draft in 2023. Draft a starting TE, an EDGE guy, a starting caliber LB and CB. I feel like Shaq is going to be a cap casualty, and I'm good with that. So a LB or 2 will be needed.

Would you trade 9 for Fields - straight up?
scratched replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would not trade the 9 pick for any QB that is currently, or possibly available. If we sign a QB, it needs to be a FA. NO TRADES!! We need the draft capital. If Carr would sign a 2yr deal, I think that would put us in the best position to win now. We get to develop and see what we have in Corrall in those 2 years, if we don't see enough to keep him, then we can worry about drafting a QB. Right now, we need players on the edge, a LB or 2, a premier TE, and probably another starting CB. And it might not be a bad idea to try and draft another RB.
