The bait was taken

He was huge to the defense. Also, Jewell has made an obvious impact. Just a vet to at least help pre-snap is so valuable.

lol that PF vs PA is unholy

Same thing in college. He’s never been a natural “hands catcher” unfortunately.

Canales said in the post game interview that he thought Bryce had a “great day” and was a few plays away from being an “exceptional day” and said he’s made a statement to the coaching staff. So basically said he’s starting again after the bye. I think the fan theories that Canales is done with Bryce were fiction. Was more of the fact he was dealing with an obviously broken guy with crushed confidence, so he was handling it delicately.

Serious question for the box score folks? Did you actually watch the game or are you criticizing purely off 125 yards? An if you did watch the game, what would you say Bryce did poorly?

This won’t stop them from pooing every thread. They get high off the tilt

I couldn't watch.....who impressed today?
My Goodness My Guinness replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
But yes Chubba & the oline were MVPs. Both Coker and XL had some bad drops, 2 on 3rd down. And Bryce played well outside of an over throw to Chubba which would have been stopped on 3rd, and a wheel route by Coker to ice the game where Coker was obviously held and screwed up the timing. So I’d say Bryce played about as well as last week but he was by no means MVP -

Wonnum playing instantly made the defense like 50% better. Jones actually had some consistent pressure. But the conservative play calling on offense and defense should have lost us the game. Evero let them march straight down the field in a minute with prevent defense. -
Eh it seems like he’s done a decent job building a locker room culture with a bad team, which isn’t easy to do. He also shows that he can dial up great drives/play design. But damn, the playing not to lose in the 4th quarter was tough to watch. I was glad to see that we stuck to the run but it’s not bad to throw in a play action when everyone on the field thinks you are trying to run the clock out.

BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard
My Goodness My Guinness replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
At some point we have to start keeping our best players. It’s not an insane amount of money and he earned it. But it would make even more sense if Canales would actually stick to his guns and make running the ball an emphasis. -
Cowboys Trade for Jonathan Mingo
My Goodness My Guinness replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
I never understood the Mingo pick, but I was a huge fan of the TMJ pick. Like I’ve said before I’d be a horrible GM. To the WR topic, hopefully Dan learns a lesson here about drafting natural route runners/hands catchers instead of athletic projects. He really lucked into Coker. -

I really feel like Coker’s athleticism is undersold. The dude had a 42” vertical, which is generally agreed to be a great metric for explosive athleticism. He seems to have plenty of speed on the field -

It just feels inevitable. Big plays resulting in drops and turnovers. Every game

1st and 10 new drive, double screen lose 5 yards. Why run it right?

Y’all in here pooing good plays from Bryce are a sad bunch. Just enjoy the something for once in your miserable lives

Bryce has throw 2 bad passes that really stick out. The mingo one should have been picked but also, what TF was he doing? Attack the ball don’t wait for it. And that sideline pass in the red zone was just forced, stared him down the whole way. But, he has done a much better job navigating the pocket and stepping up. So that’s at least nice to see. But this is a trash defense so I’d expect him to play okay against the saints. The biggest problem is just the lack of execution on plays. Canales tries to get cute with trick plays and pick plays (XL injury) but our guys consistently miss assignments and the plays are dead on arrival. That’s 100% on coaching and it’s been a problem all year.
-
It wasn’t even a bang bang play. He obviously missed the ball then got decapitated a full second later. Completely ejection worthy
-
I actually agree given the circumstances. Had a couple great intermediate passes to Coker & XL, just missed XL deep, the first int was a mix of him and Tremble timing off but it was easily catchable, second int was underthrown and a great defensive play. I dunno, it was obvious the gameplan was to get the ball out quickly against the defense leading the league in sacks, so I wasn’t too shocked that they weren’t trying long developing routes.

I defended Bryce last season, and thought maybe the first game was just a bad game all around. Yesterday was the breaking point. He had to be benched and it was clear to everyone watching. I don’t know wtf happened this offseason but he looks so much worse than last season, which was pretty bad. But at least he was making “some” accurate throws last season. He’s just missing everything this year and looks like a high school player back there. It’s more damaging to just keep trotting him out there. Let him sit and learn, calm down, go see a sports therapist, hit the gym, get hungry, fight for the starting spot.
