  1. Isn’t there some rule that you can’t talk to coaches until like January 24 or something? Basically we’re probably a ways away from getting any sort of substantial news regarding this hiring cycle
  2. He shouldn’t be considered a dark horse though. He and Ben Johnson are THE hot shot coordinators. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t get at least one HC offer. He’ll interview everywhere
  3. I saw a fan on twitter this week talking about how apparently on like the first day of rookie mini camp or OTAs or something John Fox questioned the toughness of every single player on the team. Not sure if true or not but we need that so bad.
  4. I say this as a regular listener, but I don't think anyone at WFNZ has actual sources lmao.
  5. I think the consensus is this new, fresh regime is getting 2-3 years to start getting this headed in the right direction. No one expects us to be good next year not even Tepper. It’s foolish to play a different QB
  6. No you don’t. If he’s going to fail I’d rather him fail epically so ideally we’re back at the top of the draft next year and can draft whoever the best QB is in that draft. I don’t see how bringing in a Garoppolo type to take us from a 3 win team to a 5 win team solves anything besides hurting draft positioning
  7. He gets 2024. He's the clear and undisputed starter next year. The "trade for Fields" or "draft Penix" discussions are hilarious for multiple reasons. Mainly because they aren't happening. Commit this offseason to shoring up the offensive line and primarily adding weapons. I actually think the line could be somewhat fixed relatively easily. We were without our guards almost all season. Get them back next year. Ideally we find another LT and can kick Ekwonu inside but we'll see. It is true our receiver room has no speed or even talent. That has to be addressed and priority #1 this offseason. We need quick winners who can generate separation. Maybe Hollywood Brown could sign here with enough money. Someone like that would help. If Bryce isn't showing real improvement next year the new HC/GM are perfectly justified if they want to start looking for other options as early as 2025. You can usually tell after 2 years.
  8. Beyond that it’s well documented the Texans straight up wanted Bryce
  9. We need to approach this offseason fully prioritizing putting Bryce in a situation to make a leap next year. But I also hope every coach we interview is told that if he’s not improving next year they can start searching for alternatives as early as 2025. If we take this from the angle of “it’s Bryce or bust” the job is so much less appealing. IMO you’ll know after 2 years if you have someone you can build around or not
  10. I’m not going to sit here and clown on this kid because I’m at least aware that he’s going to be our QB for at least next season. And I’d much rather him improve and pump some life into the offense as opposed to continuing like this. Now my confidence in him is unbelievably low right now. But I hope I’m wrong
  11. Ben Johnson Harbaugh Frank Smith Mike Macdonald Lou Anarumo Bobby Slowik Jim Schwartz Ejiro Evero
  12. Right. If there is one thing I will say about Tepper it's that I am confident he truly wants to win and will outspend every owner in the league if that's what it takes. He just has to realize he has to hire people he trusts and completely stay out of their way. Will his ego let him do that? Will his desire to win force him to take a long look in the mirror and realize he simply has to change his approach? If this season doesn't do that, nothing will.
  13. There is zero path to being a good team next season. But there are steps the team could take to lure me back in in terms of actually thinking the team could be on their way to winning again in the future. 1) Scott Fitterer in his current role has to go. It is difficult to overstate just how incredibly bad he has been as the GM of this team. 2) Synchronously bring in a head coach and GM. A pairing that has the same vision for building the team. A pairing that has a plan for bringing an identity back to our franchise and refuses to waiver from it. Just having a plan in place. 3) Make smart moves in FA. I think the pass catcher room is really where we could find upgrades this free agency. 4) It will be hard to have a bad draft because we need everything. But quit drafting RAS scores and draft players that fit your vision for the future of the franchise. Ideally we somehow find an LT and let Ikey compete for a guard spot. 5) We get messaging from the owner about what has gone wrong and how he plans to fix it (doubtful) There is a 0% chance we are making the playoffs next season. But we could at least have some sort of a blueprint we can believe in 12 months from now. Realistically that is what I am hoping for
  14. It's annoying how this gets brought up every other day. This literally is not going to happen.
  15. This will never happen Also after this season Fields value is way way higher than Burns
  16. No. 1) There is no plausible city for a relocation. 2) Many speculate Richardson put a clause into the sale that specifies he can never move the team from the Carolinas. 3) The NFL would not let him.
  17. Can we actually try building around one quarterback for the same quarterback just one time? Teddy got worse when he got here, Sam was already bad and stayed bad, and Bryce looks a shell of the prospect he was supposed to be, Baker is having a career year and going to take his team to the playoffs after leaving. We. Are. The. Problem. It’s an atrocious roster that no one would be performing well for. We have to stop acting like we’re only a quarterback away. We’re an everything away.
  18. They’re not gonna throw a pass further than 10 yards today. How isn’t this easy to adjust to
  19. Think it’s totally reasonable to believe that part of KC’s offensive regression is due to the loss of Bieniemy, and he’s not the main problem in Washington, but he’d also be a pretty underwhelming HC hire. I want Johnson, Macdonald, or Anarumo.
  20. Him and Ben Johnson are the guys. I'll be turning backflips with either of them
  21. This could be pure propaganda but man some of yall are just acting miserable by jumping to conclusions and acting like this is bullshit and not true or whatever. Could it be bullshit? Sure! But it’s way more fun to believe that maybe he is taking a long look in the mirror and will start changing his approach. I could rant for days about Tepper, but he is still one of the newest owners in the NFL. Perhaps the learning curve has been steeper for him than he anticipated but he’s determined to get it right. Am I saying this is the case? Not at all but it’s nice to have some hope!
  22. The good news is that all the openings aside, the candidate pool is really intriguing to me this year. I can talk myself into any of the following: -Ben Johnson -Lou Anarumo -Mike Macdonald -Frank Smith -Bobby Slowik -Jerod Mayo -Evero I would be pleased with any of these at surface level. But considering three of them are defensive-minded they may not even be on Tepper’s radar. I also don’t think we’re too good for a retread like Dan Quinn or Jim Schwartz. I just hope and pray the HC gets to bring in a GM they feel like they can work with.
